Not really, in the extras on DVD Adam West explained that all the eggs were old or rotten ones purchased from chicken farms to be used in that fight scene. He complemented the clean up crew for removing the mess, but the odor of rotten eggs plagued the set for along time afterwards.
Burt Ward actually had extensive martial arts training. However, he was told to tone it down during the fight scenes so as to not outshine Adam West/Batman
Burt Ward is a black belt in Kenpo Karate. Even though he didn’t use a lot of it in the fight scenes, he did throw some serious haymakers in those fights.
Until he got a little to reckless with Bruce Lee aka Kato when the Green Hornet and Batman had a crossover and Bruce was going to ick Burt’s ass in real life 😅
@@MONTAGUEN Bruce Lee and Burt Ward lived in the same apartment building. Burt Ward was often asked if he was afraid of Bruce Lee, in which he said that he wasn’t afraid because of his knowledge of Kenpo Karate. It was said that Bruce Lee and Van Williams sometimes visited the Batman set during the filming of a fight scene. Adam West and Burt Ward visited the set of The Green Hornet to watch the filming of a fight scene. Both compared notes. The day that the fight scene between The Green Hornet and Kato and Batman and Robin, Bruce Lee came to the set with an attitude. The fight scene began filming. Bruce faked Burt out with a kick. Burt flinched and suddenly fell over a table(you can see Bruce’s fake kick in that scene). “Kung Fu’s Kung Fu. Star Child’s play.”- Kato Batman’s Satisfaction “It’s a good thing that we’re on their side, even if they don’t know it.”- Kato Batman’s Satisfaction “It’s a good thing that they don’t come to town very often.”- Robin Batman’s Satisfaction
