People sleep on the fact that Ant-Man actually self-sacrifices himself by going subatomic in the final battle of Ant-Man. I think it’s a pretty effective emotional moment and it doesn’t get enough credit. I would personally rank it higher.
Nah if it was ranked higher than it would have been executed better therefore more people would talk about it. This moment isn’t slept on at all. It gets the appropriate recognition
The most emotional final battle scene to me was in The Winter Soldier... "Then finish it. Cause I'm with you til the end of the line." People forget what a masterpiece The Winter Soldier still is. Coolest action movie since Die Hard.
I would say Spiderman vs Goblin, Everyone vs Thanos and Iron Man vs Captain America are some amazing battles with fantastic character growth and emotion.
I loved Spiderman's fight with Goblin at the end of No Way Home, just how close Tom's Peter was to being consumed by vengeance and Tobey's Peter stops him from becoming as corrupted as Norman Osborn!
Civil War, Endgame, and No Way Home are my favorite final battles without a doubt. Also when you talked the Age of Ultron final fight reminded me how Wanda in one film went from having a Sokovian accent to having a completely normal British accent for no reason.
I loved the final battle in Civil War and the fact that it was a personal conflict between Iron Man and Captain America made it stand out, but the final battle in Endgame will always be the best in the MCU for me. The way I felt when the three big heroes fight Thanos and then when all hope seems lost for Cap, all the avengers turn up to help him fight Thanos's army, so iconic and emotional in my opinion!
I truly believe that the second best villain of the MCU has to be Baron Zemo. all the mightiest heroes had to fight Thanos to win, but Zemo won without fighting.
And you remember where you were when it happened too! I was in my movie theater in the Bahamas with my friends and the theater was just so pumped and screaming when Cap picked up Mjolnir. And of course you can hear a pin drop when Tony dies. It was so amazing from start to finish
I personally still think Endgame had the best final battle but to me both Multiverse of Madness and No Way Home had really fun and entertaining third acts. #2 for me would have to be Captain America Civil War, I love how the Russos made a small scale battle feel so impactful. Pretty easily the most emotional in the entire MCU too
He’s a perfect of blend of Stuckman and Jahn. He’s being the fandom and Everyman aspect that Jeremy does well why providing a nice analytical breakdown of story points and in the script.
I think avengers endgame is the ultimate 3 act movie. Act 1 is getting the group back together, act 2 is the time traveling, and act 3 is the final battle, and all of those acts are memorable and great.
my personal fave has to go to the final civil war battle the emotion and the fact that these are two were best friends who had resorted to such dramatic extremes makes is so amazing
The Dark World battle is actually a shitload of fun. For a movie that is such a slog to get to, the final battle feels like they finally give the movie some personality. Wouldn't rank it that high since there is no build up or emotional connection involved, but for some dumb fun with some cool ideas, I actually rate it
Avengers 1 felt like a war in that final scene. It's still the best final battle for me. It was long, everyone not only gets a moment but they get whole entire scenes in that fight. For me the other films just felt like business as usual.
I can agree with that. I’m not the biggest fan of the movie, but it’s undeniable how well the film is put together, especially in that last scene, still an awesome one to this day(Just to be clear, no part of me thinks it’s a bad film, it’s just not my favorite aesthetically and tonally. It’s purely my taste, the movie is great irl)
It’s my least favourite part of the movie tbh, but the big cgi alien battles are my least favourite part of all the avengers movies, I love the stories but couldn’t care less about these fights personally haha
@@BurgoYT You sound like my mom lol. She always wants to watch movies like The Avengers, but she always says that the fights cause her so much anxiety that she gets a headache😂
@@Jay-Zech I understand if you like some of the other mcu movies. It's just to me, that last action was one of the greatest battle sequences put to film. I love the scene where cap and Thor are fighting with each other and cap gets shot on the side and Thor smacks a car that hits the aliens. Remember when cap was actually human??? Like you actually feared for his life more but after cap 2, cap is pretty much invincible. I like the scene where hulk and Thor take down the leviathan. The other avengers movies always have lousy locations for the final battles that look bland. The wakanda battle field looks too CGI, then the endgame war scene just looked grey and really dark. But that's just me. I think there is much more iconic and cool looking stuff in the first avengers while the other movies had better plots
@@BurgoYT well the CGI aliens are like storm troopers in star wars. It's canon fodder. Canon fodder was made for James bond or power rangers to show the hero kickass. That's the point of having many CGI monsters or stormtroopers, etc. It's to show the good guys kick ass
Wonder if you can possibly do this, but with opening sequences? Though it may be a weird list because some are awesome like Age of Ultron, but some are just nothing special but needed to understand the film.
I agree. Endgame ranks 1st for final battle scene but it's not my favorite because we saw what happened to Tony. Seeing all the girls step up just looked a little forced. You see Mantis looking a little awkward. My favorite is No Way Home.
They do it so much better in Infinity war with Okoye Black Widow and Wanda, doesn’t feel forced they all needed each other so you don’t even notice it completely, I think what makes it worse is the fact that firstly Mantis stands there awkwardly because she literally cannot do anything and it makes me laugh every time but then it’s just the fact that the line is she’s got help when it is immediately clear she doesn’t need any help, but at the same time I get what they were doing and why is it a little cringe? sure could it have been done better? Absolutely but if it captivates some young girls then does it really matter
@@bmamurphy it does matter medicore moments shouldn't be ok I'd rather one singular good scene then that endgame scene because it made no sense and had no substance infinity war did it better with less female heroes.
Nice video. I like how you put the emotional aspect of the battle into account so much. I do think civil war should be slightly higher because of that but also it’s a “small” final battle so kind of hard to rank. GJ!
I actually think the Final battle of the dark world is quite fun, the villain is awful but if it wasn't and there was an actual connection its a very good Final battle and a solid movie, obviously you do have to punish it for the villain but there are definitely some moments like the Tube scene the portal stuff, definitely not the worst for me.
Agreed, it’s a really fun battle with lots of cool things going on. I guess that if you’re judging it in the context of the whole movie it’s less meaningful than some others, but just to watch on its own it should be half way up the list

For me, my favorites are actually the same as yours. All of the Avengers movies (especially End Game and the first one), No Way Home, and Civil War. They’re all so good and for different reasons too, which is why I love them so much
My favorite part of the Endgame final battle that no one mentions is the reunion of Scott and Hope. You see Scott on the comm with Cap telling him to get to the van and hope flies in beside Scott and says “We got it Cap” and Scott turns a bit surprised and smiles at his lost gf. After the trauma Scott must have endured in the Quantam Realm finally being able to see he again brings a smile to my face, not to mention how in Ant Man and the Wasp she mocked the nickname Cap but is now using it as she and her partner are finally teaming up as Avengers
For me, the best fights were the battle on titan, Peter Parker versus Green goblin round 1, cap versus Winter soldier in really any fight, the airport battle, shang chi bus fight, and obviously the big end game fight.
I have the 3 avengers movies well above every other movie and end game as the clear leader of the 3. The last hour of end game is the perfect balance of story and fan service that was built up for a decade
The final fight of Thor is actually really underrated (just like the movie itself). Obviously it's not the most flashiest fights but it's a confrontation between two brothers and works really well on emotional level. Sometimes it feels like you overhate the first two Thor movies alot.
1 = Endgame - Just epic in every way. The perfect culmination of 22 movies of build up. 2 = Avengers - Seeing the 6 Avengers fight together for the first time will never not put a smile on my face and every character gets their own moments to shine 3 = Infinity War - The titan battle is some of the most creative fighting in the mcu and wanda killing vision and thanos then reviving him to then killing half the universe was emotionally powerful 4 = No Way Home - This is how you do fan service whilst also being an incredibly emotional end to Peter’s arc. These top 4 are peak final battles 5 = Guardians of the Galaxy - Excellent CGI combined with many emotional character moments although Ronan being distracted by Peter’s dancing did feel contrived to me. 6 = Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 - Just as excellent as the first movie 7 = Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Some of the most horror type shit in the MCU; it’s beautifully insane and I really liked what they did with Wanda. Just a great ending to all the character arcs on the movie. I just wish we explored more multiverses 8 = Civil War - Small in scale but the emotional core of the fight makes it hard to watch and feels much grander than it actually was 9 = Winter Soldier - Like Guardians 1 and 2, it combines epic CGI fights with emotional character moments 10 = Thor Ragnarok - Thor unlocking his true powers was badass and the destruction of Asgard was a great subversion of expectations 11 = Ant-Man - It literally takes place on a thomas the train figure in a little girl’s room. What more could you want? 12 = Far From Home - This fight was just crazy and Beck’s plan makes for a really unique final battle 13 = Doctor Strange - Love how Doctor Strange used his intellect to win against Dormammu. It was a great change of pace 14 = Incredible Hulk - Sometimes all I want is seeing two big green CGI monsters causing destruction all across New York 15 = Age of Ultron - A bit too similar to the first movie but still an epic finale if not too memorable 16= The First Avenger - airplane scene was top tier MCU 17 = Shang Chi - May have been just a CGI fight, which was disappointing but fighting against mythical dragons was cool 18 = Homecoming - Great end to Peter’s arc, just didn’t feel any epicness and there wasn’t much Spider-Man stuff 19 = Iron Man 2 - The first movie except funner even if the writing wasn’t great and seeing Black Widow kick ass was great 20 = Thor The Dark World - Honestly it was actually kind of creative. If the actual storytelling was good, this could’ve been in the top 10 because exploring through dimensions was really fun 21 = Iron Man 3 - After that epic airplane rescue, this was a major letdown 22 = Ant-Man 2 - Forgettable but fun in the moment 23 = Eternals - visually stunning but suffers from too many characters and the actual action was just ok 24 = Black Widow - Why did we need a big CGI explosion and the battle against taskmaster was too quick 25 = Captain Marvel - felt rushed and too quick with no tension 26 = Black Panther - Bad CGI and it all felt so rushed. Killmonger’s death was great though and the shot of him seeing the sun rising was beautiful 27 = Thor - Like Iron Man, way too short but Asgard looks pretty 28 = Iron Man - really short and Iron Monger was such a lame villain.
@@BurgoYT, really? What part about did you enioy? It was so quick, Obadiah Stane is just a bigger version and wannabe of Tony Stark and there’s nothing interesting or creative about the fight choreography or the visuals.
@@joeyjerry1586 I felt like it wasn’t very good in itself, but it’s better than a lot of the worse ones to me, but looking back it’s probably be 20-25 not halfway
Undoubtedly Endgame and Infinity war are up there at the top. The rest are definitely going to be harder to rank, so im curious how this will go for you
@@dinomking3108 hulk wasn't featured in any of those finales....the battles weren't as focused..just sweeping shots of CGI heroes fighting villains. The first avengers had the cool scene in theiddle of the battle where cap runs into a building to save a bunch of ppl who are about to be bombed by an alien. The alien throws the bomb at him and he blocks it with his shield...the one shot of cap on the ground, that pans up to Hawkeye shooting on the tower, his arrow hits an alien that happens to crash into a leviathan beast that hulk and Thor are fighting. There really wasn't nothing like that in the other films. Infinity war had a bland war in the middle of a CGI battlefield in wakanda. I love the scene where Thor shows up but it was all CGI mess really. But that's me, I liked seeing more heroes fight but when all they do is pose and then do a cool attack, it looks a bit bland while the first film just had better choreography and plotting about the finale
Great list! This is a tricky one, but I think you were pretty accurate and fair in your criteria on them. So glad to see No Way Home so high, and, of course, Endgame earned that top spot! I’m with you. I can’t imagine a superhero film finale being more epic than that! I challenge filmmakers to try, but I don’t know if they can.
The ranking at the end of this year is gonna be huge With adding moon knight, she Hulk, ms Marvel, holiday special, Christmas special, Doctor Strange MOM, Thor LAT & Black Panther WF
I have watched Endgame uncountable times and yet somehow when Cap lifting the hammer gives me goosebumps and I can hear the cheer in my theater instantly
DANG. The way you described the stakes of civil war was incredible. I never thought of it like that, I didn't even think of the fact that because they Avengers broke up that was the reason Thanos won, that's awesome.

I just watched videos with you ranking your wife's favorites and her ranking your favorites. Jennifer needs to appear more. I think of Chris and Jodi Chase from WearTesters. Chris Chase looking so much like Jimmy Garoppolo.. 🤣
Well all the big event movies have the best final battles. (Avengers 1-4, Civil War, Spider-Man: NWH) So my top 3 of the "normal" MCU movie battles are: 1. CA:WS 2. Eternals(some of my favorite non grounded action in comicbook movies) 3. Iron Man 3 or Thor Ragnarok can't decide between the 2.
I've honestly always liked the "Mirror Match" final battles like Iron Monger vs Iron Man, Abomination vs Hulk, or Yellowjacket vs Ant Man, because it usually forces the protagonist to find a creative way to defeat the opponent, given that they tend to have a major advantage, i.e. Yellowjacket's weapons, Iron Monger's durability, or Abomination's spines.
Thank you. Thank you for Mentioning "Portals" by Alvin Sylvetry. NOT NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR. I play it to this day, It will go down for me as one of my favorite scores of all time next to Hans Zimmers Epic scores.
Shang-Chi final battle could have been Nr.3 if it didn't become a fight against a big dragon. Cuz the fight against his dad was just amazing, both in the fighting and in the emotional stuff
Avengers endgame is my ultimate favourite movie of all time. Even in the first half of the movie is significant. Seeing all our heroes miserable having lost everything except from Tony who actually gained life. And theirs a moment when he tells pepper i can stop and we can forget about all of this tomorrow morning, and Pepper replies trying to get you to stop has been one of my biggest failures. And at the end Tony loses his life and everything while everyone else got their life back at the expense of Stark. Tony had many close calls to death. In the cave, in the wormhole, fighting thanos and in the beginning of Endgame. Avengers endgame is the ultimate ending of the Mcu even though it may continue for others but for our founding heroes. Steve Stark Banner Natasha Clint and Thor. Some of them rode of into the sunset while the others have found peace.
No way home, end game and infinity war are my top 3 and definitely my top 3 favourite final battles even though so many of the mcu final battles are amazing. No way home was so special, seeing the final battle with Tobey, Tom and Andrew meant a lot 😭
I think my favorite final battle is probably Age Of Ultron. I still can’t forgive them for killing Quicksilver (one of my top 5 favorite comic book characters), but I there is something so satisfying to me about robots being smashed up to pieces, the old avengers teaming up with the new avengers, and having a flying city that’s about to crash into the earth and kill everyone, I just love it. I also hope Aaron Taylor-Johnson will come back as Quicksilver one day.
Its not my favorite but yh I agree its amazing when thor went like is this all you got, ultron brings in the bots and says this is all I got. It was filmed beautifully as well
Hey Sean, i seriously think you should rank Multiverse of Madness higher up on the list bro, coz it was MIND-BLOWING and totally unexpected. A very befitting climax for Wanda and Strange taking over his dead body are total BONKERS.
Fun list! The final battle really hard makes or breaks the film in question, and sadly the MCU batted too well with that, but the ones that hit really hit and they're usually the most fun with other people, which is really what they're all about. My picks: Boring, unsatisfying, forgettable: - Captain Marvel - Thor: The Dark World Entertaining, not Satisfying, not Memorable: - Black Widow - Iron Man - Thor - Shang-Chi - Spider-Man: Homecoming - Eternals - Captain America: The First Avenger - Ant-Man & the Wasp - Spider-Man: No Way Home (Some cheap moments, some great ones, action overall is dull as bricks, thanks goodness we have great actors playing them.) Entertaining, not Satisfying, Memorable: - Iron Man 2 (Helps that the great Genndy Tartatovsky of Samurai Jack fame helped storyboard it) - Avengers: Endgame (Couple good payoffs before the portals and Silvestri's score does HARDLIFTING, but I see such little worth in this massive mess. I want to love this, but I just don't connect after everyone comes out of the portals.) - Captain America: The Winter Soldier (I still find the Bucky-Steve plotline to be very strained so the emotional focus is appreciated, but the actual helicarrier stuff is a yawn and the fighting itself is alright.) - Avengers: Infinity War (The stuff on Titan is exciting but all the Wakanda stuff is kinda boring) Entertaining, Satisfying, Memorable enough: - Thor: Ragnarok - Spider-Man: Far From Home - The Incredible Hulk - The Avengers (Doesn't have anywhere near the same tension as the helicarrier rescue but still a very fun collection of sequences.) Emotion >> Action: - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Black Panther - Avengers: Age of Ultron - Guardians of the Galaxy - Iron Man 3 Delightful, Triumphant, Very Memorable: - Ant-Man - Doctor Strange - Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Pure coolness, made the film infinitely more enjoyable for me.) - Captain America: Civil War (Genuinely driven, with equal care given to both sides and an actual feeling that you don't know how this will end. Zemo's attempted suicide is one of the MCU's finest moments and almost every punch has such weight behind it that it really does justice to me.)
I highly disagree with orginal avengers being not memorable the part where all 6 stand in a circle was iconic, so was iron man who is meant to be an arrogant guy doing self sacrifice, things like punny god by hulk was hillarious, the part where camera pans to all avengers in action was very well filmed.
@@marko9463 I didn't say it wasn't memorable, i put it under the "Entertaining, Satisfying, Memorable enough" category, meaning that it was solid. I do agree with all the things you mentioned, a very fun collection of bits like those make the fight fun. My biggest gripe was that I found the helicarrier fight sequence so thrilling that the finale seemed weak in comparison, and the film basically jumping straight from one to the other didn't help matters much.
Black Widow would have been very high if the movie was done right. All we needed was simply just Black Widow vs Taskmaster face to face in combat, they could have had various forms of combat to confuse Taskmaster. No spectacles, nothing over the top. We already know that this character will make it out alive. We needed a grounded, down to earth fight against someone who is equal to her.
