My name is Sean Chandler and I love to talk movies way too much!
I started this channel in the Summer of 2016 to share my opinions on Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, horror, and more. Within 2 and a half years I'd turned my nerdy hobby of talking movies too much into a full-time career. And now I'm a Rotten Tomatoes certified critic and a member of the Hollywood Critics Association.
If you're looking for movie reviews, franchise rankings, and editorials on all the biggest movies of today, you want to subscribe to Sean Chandler Talks About!
It was a better trailer the second time you watch it. It’ll be interesting, the world of Dune is so big you can explore more outside of Arrakis but it does feel like they kind of want to make a Game of Thrones space. Wether that works is another thing but there’s a lot of talent here
You made a good point, it will be interesting to see how the story will unfold with the Bene Gesserit as main characters instead of just a driving force from the background, seeing what they do & how the creators handle them & the story
Look I’m all for this if it’s cool and good, but I’m lowkey starting to get worried for all these films that are hitting hard or just right getting TV series like The Batman with Penguin, Godzilla with Monarch, now this.
Personally I’m not a big fan of film franchises getting TV series and this trailer didn’t impress me too much. So unless we get some more interesting trailers or good reviews I might end up skipping this one. Hopefully it ends up being good though 😬
It adapts a prequel book so it’s not really unnecessary just that you won’t need it for the third movie. It’s mostly for the fans who want to see the books get adapted and movie fans who are curious as to the world’s lore. Plus it was in development as long as the first dune movie so they did really thought it through.
The same was said about hotd, andor, loki and even the last of us, and in the end the results were excellent, the concept of whether something is necessary is debatable, but it would be a lie to say that many times there are no positive results
Ow ow ow, it burns! That was a hot take! 🤪 I know Will Smith slaps, but his singing is what really stings! Personally I think they should have leaned into his strength and have him rap (and I'm not a rap fan). For me it just feels too much like he's trying to be Robin Williams.
You know there are lot of dune books that cover the worlds history right.. this is adapting a prequel book like house of dragons did for game of thrones.
@@tyleroutland435 I can see not likely prequels since they undo what the main story does if it's a tv and movies series but adaptation have a definitive history and lore they can't fuck it up unless they really want to.. but each their own, you don't like prequels you won't have to watch it since making this is not really going to having any problems with the release of third movie different teams and different actors so it will release at same time regardless.
This film is BY FAR the greatest Batman tale ever put on the big screen. Pattinson as BW/Batman was fresh and a great (however unlikely) choice. And Matt Reeves' take on the Riddler is absolutely stellar! This being more of a detective noir, with Batman being something of a darker, more broken character is very well told. Like you said, a BIT long, but to me that's a bit of a nuance in the grand scheme. Not flawless, not perfection, but really damn close in my view, and easily the best take to come to the big screen. I have been a tremendous fan of Batman for much of my 45 years of life, so to me, that's saying something 😁
Sean, I posted this one on Twitter, but one for me that still sticks out like a sore thumb is Darryl Hannah in Wall Street (1987). Sean Young even kept telling Oliver Stone to give her the part, but Young even showed up late and unprepared. Stone even admitted that everyone told him Hannah was miscast and also admitted that he was too proud to replace her.
The only thing about this that I don’t like, is that it’s live action. Spider Noir is one of those characters that benefits more from animation with his style, so why not do it animated?
Just watched the 2019 and I said to my self ... Umm, this isn't the same hellboy my sister watched which is the original. :/ like he said there isn't a dull moment it was entertaining.

The scene when May basically UFC’d and killing the other talking human to keep him from thwarting her plan, was an “ a ha” moment. Now I see her business. Great Movie ✊
1.Dawn and Kingdom, equal 2.Rise 3.War I like the first one and the Tim Burton one alright. But the franchises reboot and the direction it is heading in is beautiful and I can’t wait to see it.
Too Many People Are In Control Of Marvels Decision Making Yet After Nearly 5 Years Of Continuous Disappointment I Am Once Again Excited To See "Deadpool & Wolverine" From The Marvel Universe.
Alright, as a huge fan of the Schumacher movies, let me fill in the pros: -the fact that Batman redeems a villain for the first time in the films, being Mr. Freeze -campiness is escalated, if that's your preference -Uma Thurman owns her role as Ivy and Pamela -after a bunch of failed romances, Batman finally has a family -the venom serum implies the Bane we get is a prototype Bane, and the TRUE Bane can emerge when venom is perfected -Ivy's betrayal of Freeze turns him from a loyal husband to a maniac, being a pretty tragic arc -Batgirl learns that Alfred's role as a butler is his choice as part of the family -Batman acknowledges the weight his legacy pushes on Robin, so he trusts him to play a critical role in getting info from Ivy -the movie was intentionally hilarious and paid homage to the 60s like Forever, but even more so -Eliot Goldenthol and Smashing Pumpkins
CGI from the early 2000s already reached the level we have today. I mean, just look at Lord of the Rings. The thing is that SciFy couldn't afford good CGI, so yeah... The miniseries look awkward. They're still great tho.
