i’m gonna miss seeing GP2 on the warriors. he has great instincts for the game and provided some crucial defense plays during their playoff run, especially against the celtics.
Warriors are exceptional at trusting players with their talents and using it to fit their team. In 2014 when they gave Curry the green light to shoot threes from anywhere they learned to listen to their players gifts and build strategies around them. So many players shine in warriors team because of it. McGee, Payton, Wiggins, Barbosa, Livingston, and more.
GP2 is definitely capable of being two-way player like Andrew Wiggins. He doesn't lack the skill nor work ethics. What he lacks is opportunities from a team that trust him with a starters position.
You know what's crazy is that you kinda had a feeling looking at this a year later that damn this team is special.... Oh no how many of these types of playes have they had this year..... I'll wait
As a huge Supersonic fan it feels so poetic to see Payton II on the receiving end of so many ally-oops! Just as entertaining as watching his dad throw ‘em up.
No wonder the Dubs keep winning titles when other teams let guys like him just fall into their laps. I just love how he hunts for them on fastbreaks, creates opportunities with turnovers, and that every teammate knows that as soon as he backdoor cuts, just lob it to the heavens and he;ll be there. The best is 7:48 where he posterizes Goga so bad, Goga gets tossed coming back at the staredown.
I'm glad he's secured his bag with Portland....I mean it's sad he wont be getting another ring with GSW next season.....but.....70m.....even for GPII is crazy on a team where you are paying what you paid for the team every year just to hold the team together.....
