Thought I would take the opportunity to get one of these recorded now that their days are limited so here we have an onboard journey on Merseyrail 507031 recorded between Fazakerley and Sandhills. The 507s and 508s are soon to be replaced by new build Class 777 units. The Class 507s were built by British Rail Engineering Ltd (BREL) at Leeds Holgate Works between 1978 and 1980 entering service on the 1st November 1978, so are therefore now in their 43rd year of service. These units are not my favourite nor some other peoples cup of tea but after such a long stint it will be a shame to see them go.
