Switching to a cordless electric trimmer was my #1 improvement. Same power, 95% easier to operate. This edger attachment is my #2 improvement.

Are the threads ok on the mandrel? I'm sure it can be ordered from Ryobi, but first I would take it to you local lawnmower shop and see it they have it, or If you have a good hardware store near you they may be able to match it. What if your edger start vibrating?
@deerparkhomeshop2471

Are there notches showing how many inches you’ll be cutting at for the height/depth?
@deerparkhomeshop2471
@deerparkhomeshop2471 Год назад
No there isn't. Of course, if there were notches the height adjustment would only be temporary. As you continually use the edger the blade will wear down and your cut will get shallower.

I've used the Ryobi edger attachment for over 15 years, by the way the "Echo" stick edger blade will too work on the Ryobi attachment, and they are about $3.00 at NC's Agri-Supply. I started using the 18 volt split boom model with the edger about three weeks ago, works as great as my Ryobi gas model, and it's Lighter ! Haven't been let down w/Ryobi yet, my gas unit is over 15 years old.

Im sorry if this is a dumb question 🙋🏻‍♀️ 😂 What does “disengage plug wire “ mean ? Where is that at ? When you change the attachment yes you turn it off then loosen the part where you switch out the part to whatever other part you are changing it to. But is there another part that needs to be disconnected as recommended by the manufacturer?
@deerparkhomeshop2471
@deerparkhomeshop2471 2 года назад
Not a dumb question. This refers to the spark plug wire on gas weed eaters. It was a safety precaution that came from the Ryobi manual, and I should have made it clearer, especially since many people have battery units that don't even have spark plugs. Sorry for the confusion.

You can use the Ryobi 18 volt split boom like I do, or you can use the 40 volt model, I started with the 18 volt tools and stayed w/those ... your choice I guess would vary if you say had the Ryobi 40 volt 21" mower or other tools using the 40 volt battery you might use 40 volt to keep your batteries the same as I do with the 18 volt power tools, hope this helped.

Mine an the neighbor's drive way I'd estimate to be maybe 600 ft overall ... blade life, one every other month. One thing to remember, on the aftermarket edger blades there are thin an thick ones, the thin ones run about $1.50 each at Agri-Supply, the thicker about about $2.50 .. I use the thin ones. My 18volt split-boom Ryobi will edge the driveways, and then blow away the debris with the same 4 amp battery.
