I'm a proud user of the GTS18V216 table saw, both with the Wheeled transport stand and recently fitted to a custom table for an 8ft outfeed for sheet goods. My workshop is a purely cordless environment, so Bosch Professional tools play a huge part in what I do. I would like to make a suggestion / request though and it's something to consider. The GTS10XC has been a saw I've admired, but due to design issues with the sliding rail and only accepting the included mitre fence which is rather limited in what it can do, it would be nice to see an 18v biturbo version of the gts10xc but more refined, features such as rack and pinion fence adjustment for fine setting, an improved fence to support material better and be easier to calibrate than the 216's method which causes a headache. change the method of the sliding table so that aftermarket mitre fences can be used. Research has shown that many customers owning the GTS10XC and some other table saws has shown problems with the stock mitre fences including side to side play in the T track when there should be none, also more functionality out of the fence for stopped angles and ability for larger aluminium sections to be used, a material clamp, etc. That said, if an 18v biturbo version of either a GTS10XC or something more exciting which gives cabinet class specifications to a job site saw, then you're ahead of the competition. If I had the chance to design and develop a cordless table saw designed to go to client's sites but deliver the specifications of a cabinet grade saw, I'd want the criticals right, which include ZCI (zero clearance inserts) as options, better dust control, a guard that is more useful and not intrusive, a guard which includes overhead dust extraction like I use on my GTS18v216 replacing the stock guard because of my particular needs and workflow, I can achieve extraction above and below blade. If I were to design a sliding table based on the GTS18V216, I'd enhance the table to accept a module which bolts on and takes support from the carry handle also, so that a floor standing sliding rail unit can be fitted which folds flat for transport, can support sheet goods and provide a safer, more supported cutting operation. What I love most about the GTS18V216 is the placement and design of the power switch. Many table saws like metabo's 250 series don't feature this and the switch is in the wrong place, a frightening experience. so the GTS18V216 is a great machine, but what if you could build and design a 10" saw, you have mitre saws driving 12" blades like the GCM18v305GDC which I also love, own and proudly use with a 96 tooth precision blade, that saw replaced a much older mains saw and a dewalt RAS, this is my go to machine. So, do you fancy the challenge? I hear a rumour of a cordless table saw in the making, although I didn't get much detail to it, but I'd love to partner with you in designing the perfect site / shop table saw that blurrs the lines. I'm working on my own vertical panel saw which will support the GKS18V68GC and GKT18V52 as well as a router as my workshop needs this setup, so does my back.
