Thank you! Our first batch started laying at 7 weeks, by 8 weeks all our girls are producing! We harvested our first Roo's at 8 weeks and WOW are they great cooked on the grill! Week 10 starts tomorrow and I am planning to incubate the eggs we collect over the next 4 days! Everyone LOVES the quail! Even our Autistic grandson is so fascinated by the egg laying and how yummy the birds taste!

I bought what I thought were 4 females from a local person. One turned out to be a male, he's much smaller than the females and a dark brown. No idea what he is, but I hatched some eggs and 8 ut of 10 eggs hatched. I was happy, it was an experiment to see if the little guy was doing his job.

We have a video of each but not together but jumbo Egyptians are better for eggs and are feather sexable

I ordered Sparkly eggs/Pansy eggs and was expecting Sparkly, Pansy, Pharaoh, Italian, Autumn Ambers based on the information posted for each variety. I am a newbie so not 100% sure but I believe I hatched several egyptian birds, I do have Pansy, what looks like fawn pansy, a homozygous Pansy/chocolate, a few dark birds which I think are just Pharaoh and NOT sparkly, a few autumn amber, maybe Italian…I have 2 pansy with white markings (chest white dot hen and roo with one white wing feather on outside) I don’t think I got any sparkly and many are colors that don’t conform to examples in each corresponding color video. How do I ID the colors when none look much like video examples? And can I hatch egyptians from pansy or sparkly eggs?

With sparkly you can not tell if they are or not until 3-4 weeks old and yes you can very easily hatch out Egyptian with both pansy and sparkly

The standard is 10 oz by 10 weeks to be considered a jumbo.

hello Zach, i live in holland and we dont have the egyptions here ik have jumbo wild en i think the italian? you call it... we call it Isabel.. and i have red. with no markings.... if i put a isabel hen x the red male do i get egyptions then?? they carry the roux gen then... and if i take that egyption hen x wild male i get sexlinks? i put the red male x wild hens and i got sexlinks but the felamle where realy red, no marking, i just want them to have marking... you dont ship to holland so im a little desperit here. can you help me..

No you would take your red and put it with wild and that will give you Egyptians, if you put the red with Italian then that would give you autumn amber

thank you fot your quick answer. i did this with the red and the wild and i did get sexlinks, but my baby hens where even red. no sparkels or markings like the egyption you have.. .. i can not find the egyption you have here....... but i wil try the italian and the totally red together and see wat wil be... @@MyshireFarm

Bought 50, 3 cracked (myfault) and 35 (hatched) survived. ALL ARE FEMALE.ha im not mad one bit.ha

@@MyshireFarm Okay, So now i take that back! Not all female. Out of 50, 3 cracked (my fault) and 35 Hatched, 2 out of the 35 Drowned (Problem Fixed). Out of the 33, 12 are females and 21 are males. Only 2 seems to be alot smaller than the others. Order: The Jumbo Wild - Coturnix Quail Hatching Eggs Sorry for the jumping to conclusions, they were feather sexable a little later than i thought.
