He actually was asked this question and he said "i didnt come out of the womb wearing a rashguard, but i went into many wombs wearing one!" :D Guy is a legend
@@champ8605 That is one way to look at it.. at the same time, he and Natalia released a DVD and ebook about how to "Get Swole as a Grappler" in which they talk about "hard work" and proper "nutrition".. just seems dishonest if the guy is actually juicing - which there is no hard evidence of. He could be natural sure, but the circumstances of his miraculous muscle gain make me skeptical. It still doesnt take anything away from the fact that he is clearly technically superior to all of the people he fights. I'm still a fan.
@@s23900 my comment could be taken in bother ways. But I meant of course Gordan is juicing and so is a majority of pro athletes. their careers rely on them winning so if anything that could help them of course they're going to do it. Nutrition and training do play a major part still, you can't just take steroids and expect to be Mr Olympia. Steroids mean they can train and recover faster, Gordon is still putting thousands of hours of hard work for him to get as good as he is.
What a TALENTED bunch of People Training Under the Great John Danaher, I Trained under John Back in 2003/4 (early mornings) and it was awesome. sometimes id go at nights and train Renzo's class and it was an HONOR to train in the presence of these 2 JIU JITSU MASTERS
Was good to see everyone out and at it. Healthy sanity check for me in light of everything. Gordon needs a classic Infinity Gauntlet rashguard with everyone trying to take out Thanos :D
@@ramirospinelli6453 I didn't read the rule set. However, if that is true then, the rule set is shit. Launching attacks that were never going to succeed shouldn't be rewarded. The rules should reward things that would actually lead to success in a real fight - playing patty cake doesn't win fights and the points should reflect that.
@@s23900 I think we would need to see the entire match. The refs should count points based positions more strongly than going for submissions without dominant position.
Nice matches based on the highlight. G. Ryan has an interesting approach to the win. He can win even when letting their opponents play their A game. Other contenders for being the goat would shut down their partners game before they could play their A game. Marcelo Garcia and Roger Gracie come to mind.
That’s a huge part of Danaher’s bjj philosophy. He sees lots of openings when an opponent is attacking so his guys go from being in an inferior position right into attacks instead of the traditional route of getting back to neutral by recovering guard and then working towards a dominant position and a submission. It really changes everything and makes opponents must less confident about attacking submissions.
That ethan vs kade match showed how leg locks should be scored if they aren't deep they shouldn't score on judging criteria as someone can go for a leg lock it wouldn't be effective at all and he would win
Man I'd love to see Ryan vs Kyle Snider or Sadulaev in a grappling match. He beat Bo Nickal pretty handily and as good as Snider and Sadulaev are, and as much as I love Wrestling, I do believe that BJJ is superior and that Gordon would make that clear against those monsters.
IF GRAPPLING WILL BECOME ONE OF THE BIGGEST SPORTS IT NEEDS TO BE NO TIME LIMIT IT NEEDS TO GO TILL THE END People think then they fight for ever no People give up faster then when they know they can survive on the Clock the Guy was beaten in his Head he knew Ryan will not let go until he taps no Time same in MMA i hope in the Future this will happen more often to see whos realy the best Life or Death!!
John Danaher looks like such a likable individual , but he himself said in an interview that he is an unpleasant guy to be around during training because he is so serious and demands a lot from his students. Still can't imagine that being the case though, seems so calm and sweet...idk..
@@jeffbrazil6950 Yeah but has Marcelo been able to effectively have that many students dominate in the game? What Danaher brings is his analysis and his systems that make success replicable. Yeah there will always be naturals and savants, but jiujitsu is not about that. Jiujitsu is about the system that gives one edge over another through knowledge and understanding of the game. In that regard he and his team are advancing the sport and pushing the rest to a higher level
I'm just getting into BJJ , but this guy looks really wired. Probably mixing the sauce with some perscription speed Lets GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If his body didn’t limit him he would be the most dangerous fighter in any sport. The again, if his body didn’t limit him would he have studied and learned all of the techniques he did?
Danaher... Rashes wear a Danaher Gaurd. Danaher is in a no time limit life... thus he must be prepared. The uniform, rash gaurd must be implemented. That is a regular t shirt, Danaher is just submitting it... Stretch!!!! Even Danahers clothing is always preparing, working in its flexibility. Some call that a mock turtle neck, Danaher wears it so he can be constantly researching rear naked strangle defense..
looks like the danaher system is getting figured out. they need to figure out how to wrestle to mix up their leg lock entries, because butt scooting into x guard switch ups isn't going to cut it forever
14:10 I did Jujitsu for 10 years but stopped back in 2009 or so and my memory in some respects has faded. But it seemed to me like both of them are highly skilled, of course, but the black guy seems to be using more brute strength and great cardio to overwhelm the other guy and force a submission. Not that there's anything wrong with that that was my style as well (I sometimes tried overwhelming the opponent or wearing them down due to my strength and gradually would find a submission).
