@@skipads5141 Derek & The Dominoes live at the Fillmore. Clapton used to be quite the show off & a very fast player. So it’s not surprising that he was called God
At least he played this song to a crowd that actually knew and enjoyed the song lol. Fricking Made In America LA crowd deaded this song the whole time.
And it was probably the greatest cover of jimi's version.... More for us to listen to 👊🌜 especially when it gets down low and he starts playing wah wah licks 🔥🔥🔥
The only pop singer/songwriter alive that I get excited to hear cover Jimi Hendrix. That tapping solo at the end with the wah pedal took this over the top :)
David DiMuzio so you’ve never seen SRV play and Hendrix songs at all?! Really? Where do u think John first saw Hendrix songs being done? Thru watching SRV.
Was there. Whole show was dancing in the rain and mud. This video doesn't do it justice. He murdered this. Favorites from that night were this, Edge of Desire, and In The Blood. Just made my Top 5 live shows from about 1000
Dylan once said: "I liked Jimi Hendrix's record of this and ever since he died I've been doing it that way... Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it's a tribute to him in some kind of way."
Man that solo is good. I didn't think i could enjoy it more than his version back in 2014. If anyone makes a tutorial on this solo i would be very greatful. Also for you people who yet haven't seen Laith Al Saadi's version of this song from The Voice i suggest you give it a listen.
Just when I think I can't possibly love this man any more than I already do he plays sings or says something that makes me feel like the first time I fell in love with him. Legend! Thank you John Woo-hoo and Wow! lol
It was very hard. My arm was numb and I was wanting to sing along to badly. However, I knew this was a rare one and thought of recording it for later enjoyment. Glad you like it! :)
I cannot say when I first heard this song, as Pops was always playing Jimi's music (insert Bob Dylan ) in real time, as I was on planet earth for about four years while Jimi was in this Space and Time... It warms my heart to hear this music being remembered like this today, many of the Sixties Artists/Musicians were on the Cutting Edge of Social Change. #FightOn
According to the videos i saw from John Mayer he could have been doing way different sounds than he does . Like his talent with a guitar it is so underrated most of people that dont know well John will think that he is just a simple pop singer however this guy is a Monster on a guitar he could be at the same level as Clapton or even David Gilmour , Hendrix it's Legendary no one could have ever be compare to him. No offense i do love John Mayer songs but he could reach another level.
Proof! It's impossible to keep your mouth still when using a wah pedal! Ha ha! I see I'm not the only one that does it! Wish I could play that good!👍😎🎸🎶
G'day John, I am officially your cliched "biggest fan" from Australia. Look up Aussie artist Diesel (crying shame, one more time, and many more.) I hope you see this because I don't have Facebook twitter or any of that shit, I'm strictly RU-vid. When you announce dates for Australia I will kindly send you my bucket list set list "lol".
Seth S If I could only choose 20 songs in no particular order Heartbreak warfare Queen of California Born and raised Walt grace's submarine Whiskey whiskey Waiting on the day Emoji of a wave In the blood Something missing Come back to bed Covered in rain Everything you'll ever be Edge of desire Daughters Stop this train Perfectly lonely Waiting on the world to change Waiting on the day Slow dancing in burning room Gravity Not an easy list to make , I love all his songs but couldn't fit them in
Does anyone know where to find a better audio quality of this. Love the dead and co versions but this is just over the top. Id pay real money for a good recording this is unreal
No, Actually, It's against the law for this song to be performed in public on any guitar other than a Fender Stratocaster. Doing so also opens up the possibility that you could be struck by lightning if Jimi happens to be looking down on you. 😊👍🏻✌🏻🤙🏻😉
Dont get me wrong Steve Jordan is my Favorite . But John is who he is because he plays with many musicians bring this drummer back awakens another side of John not to mention all his covers keeps his sound Fresh
@@lanet.2934 Yeah, he switched from the PRS SS to his 63/64 Strat for slow dancing, part 2 of his tour. I think bending behind the nut doesn't work on the PRS SS.
Can u start with a C major, then orchestrol form F 1st fret hangin the thumb then orchestrol form F on 3rd a G hangin thumb, bass and rythm and lead same time , see what it sounds like u already hang the thumb like Hendrix at Monterey tempo, (like a rolling stone)

Wow! is my reaction, only because the Universe has cut me off of emojis due to my over use.In all fairness I'm ok with That. If I could, it would be the volcano with lava running down.... Man those antidepressants they are pedling has this crowd as lame as can be. John killing it this place should be tearing itself apart like a Guns'n Rose's consert from the 1990s. Must be something in the pills or the water
