Finally!!! I found the version I have searching for. No joke, this was driving me crazy, I've spent almost 4 hours listing to the same cover by the same band just to get the right version for me. Damn Dave! You've performed the hell out of this! LOL.
That's the beauty of live music, and DMB is the epitome of a llive music band...meaning they are better live. Fans aren't annoying. Without fans there would be no music.
My favourite part of live music is the crowd taking over part of the song, leaving the band to counterpoint it with the other part. A perfect example of this was when the DMB came to Johannesburg, and played in the Dome at Northgate. Dave had gotten a guest artist from SA (I think it was Vusi Mahlasela, but I might be wrong) to sing Everyday, and the crowd just broke into "Honey, honey. Come and dance with me." without much provocation.
Great version of Watchtower. My band recently used this tune as a soundcheck song while trying out some new recording gear. The Symbols COVER All Along the Watchtower
@soulleskill Massive Hendrix fan myself, his version is excellent. But I like this in a different way, it's less the drama of the apocalypse and more the underlying emotion of the ending of the world and the aftermath.
