From my perspective, all the assassin's creed games theme is like battle of perspective... Having played most of them, its very hard to define which side is good n which is evil as they both have their own ideal (freedom vs order), n both is to me like two side of same coin, they aim to same endgame just different means n method in reaching... That is my own opinion of coz✌️😄
Idk who you talked to but assassinscreed blackflag is one of the most loved games with the ezio trilogy. Some people dont like the ship combat but i personally love it, but also the characters, story and open world, in my opinion black flag is the best game.
Ac1- Altair…… ac2 brotherhood revaltions- ezio…… ac3- Conor…… acblackflag-Edward (connors grandfather). All of these characters are all related to eachother.

So the first man Altaïr, he’s quite a mysterious character. Not much is known about his past life other than that his father was an assassin like him. His mother unfortunately passed while giving birth, so he was taken to Al Mualim to be trained in the way of the Creed. Within a few months, his ranks outgrew the other students, becoming a master.

AC Blackflag is a beloved game and for a 2013 game the graphics and gameplay still amazing, i also like so much AC Rogue in this you play as an assassin called Shay that became a templar.

The red crosses you've seen on the targets killed by the protagonists represent the templar order : Basically, the ac games follow the struggle throughout time between 2 groups : the assassins (like altair, ezio and the kenways) and the templars. The templars want to impose their will upon mankind and desire control while the assassins want to preserve free will and dedicate their lives to killing templars and stopping them from acheiving their goals.

A hidden one is a precursor to the "Assassins" name. The mask is what all of the "Order of the Ancients" wear. They are the precursor to what is known as the "Templars". The cutting off the finger part started as an accident, but then was then seen as a needed asset to join the Hidden Ones.. your commitment to the creed and also so they don't cut their own finger off during assassination 😂
Where can I start as I love all the games as there are a challenge for me to pick one 😅 but I have to say that AC2 is my favorite since I was introduced to the game by playing 2 from my older cousin. As I had a blast and the story, characters and music is so beautiful and amazing that I won’t stop playing the game.
Odysseys story was deep for me, blackflag is my favorite of y’all couldn’t tell by my pfp lol it’s Kidd from blackflag and that’s all I’ll say, or unity those are my top 3

I know I’m late to the party but my 2 cents on someone who has played all the games: AC1: the main character is Altair. We know very little about him except that he was born into the Assassin (Hashashin) Brotherhood. The villains in the series are the Knights Templar (their symbol is the cross), as they were the enemies of the Hashashin during the crusades. AC Brotherhood: the guy you see who looks like he hasn’t slept is Cesare Borgia. The Borgia’s were a real life noble family originally from Spain who became very influential in Italy. Cesare’s father is Rodrigo Borgia, Ezio’s nemesis, who is elected as Pope Alexander VI. Ezio lived during the Italian renaissance. AC3: the main character is Ratonhnhaké:ton. He is a Native American fighting alongside the revolutionary army against the British. The guy you saw is indeed George Washington. Unlike in the previous AC games, the Templars in AC 3 are manipulating both sides of the revolutionary war. This is a theme that continues later in the series. Black Flag: the second best entry in the series IMO, second only to Origins. Edward Kenway is the main character, and he is Ratonhnhaké:ton’s biological grandfather. AC origins: my personally favourite game in the series. If you love Egyptology you will ADORE this game. It takes place at the very end of the Ptolemaic Dynasty during the civil war between the Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII and his sister Cleopatra. Both of them are attempting to woo Julius Caesar and the Romans for help in their conflict. This story obviously takes place over 1000 years before the founding of the Assassins or Knights Templar, so the hero in the story Bayek is not an assassin, and the villainous organization in the game is a group called the Order of the Ancients, who all wear masks and go by monikers and operate in extreme secrecy, unlike the Templars. As you noticed, the game is indeed darker than the previous games and is much more emotional. It’s not about defeating an evil organization and saving the world but rather one man’s story of revenge. AC Odyssey: you can play as either Kassandra or Alexios in the game (they swap places as either hero or villain, depending on who you play as), and both of them are canonically bisexual, but you can choose to play either of them completely gay or completely straight if you want. It’s the only game besides Valhalla that has romance options that you can choose, although Jacob Frye in AC syndicate is also canonically bisexual as well.

Assassin creed rogue takes place during the seven years war, and Shay (the protagonist) betrays and hunts his brother assassins after the assassins “accidentally” destroy the city lisbon with an earthquake
Before the times of Ezio (AC2). Hidden blade mostly will cut your ring finger during missions. We could see it in AC Origins so before upgraded by Leonardo Da Vinci the assassins always cut their ring finger at the initiation
The whole point of the finger cut of is so they dont cut off there middle finger during the assassination like bayek did in orgins plus it a sacred right for them to use the blade more easier
if you like the Middle East setting you can get that with assassins creed revelations It takes place in Constantinople and the remaster looks pretty good, issue is that it’s the end point of the trilogy of games centered around one person so you have to play the previous ones first
Assassin's Creed is one of my favourite game franchises, and I will definitely come along with your journey. The yearly releases of those games were both a blessing and a curse, as the time went on (around Unity and Syndicate, I'd say) people were starting to get bored of the same, repetitive formula. This is also why Origins was a welcomed change in pretty much everything regarding gameplay. Regarding the game with a boat that people hate, I would hedge a guess that it was Odyssey, as it felt really disconnected from the other installments.

@@ShawnGames In 2014 PS4 was coming out, Xbox One too I think, so they made a game for new generation of consoles (Unity) and for older consoles (Rogue) to please both groups of fans, Rogue was much shorter and smaller but it wasn't that small to be considered a DLC

The story of the first blade is pretty cool, Darius used it then it was passed on to bayek from aya, which means I’d aya had it at some point, elpidios should have as well cause he was with Darius. ( just connecting dots)

No offense, but why Kratos? Like, really? Especially considering the games that were out when you were a teenager/kid. I mean, Kratos in 4 and Ragnarok I can kinda understand, because he’s a semi-peaceful father who just wants to take care of his son, but during the Greek saga he was… not really healthy, emotionally. In terms of romance. Also, quick rundown: two sides of the conflict-Assassins (desire peace through freedom) and Templars (desire peace through control), ac1: Altair in the crusades, AC2 to Revelation: Ezio (revelation has some parts with Altair) ac2-Brotherhood in Italy during the renaissance and Revelation in the Middle East, AC3: Connor in America during the revolutionary war, Ac4: Edward Kenway in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, Rogue: Shay Cormac during the middle 1700s in America, Unity: Arno Dorian during the French Revolution, Syndicate: Jacob and Evie Frye during the Industrial Revolution of London, Origins: Bayek during the reign of Ptolemy and then Cleopatra, Odyssey: Alexios/Kassandra during the third Peloponnesian War between Sparta and Athens, Valhalla: Eivor during a fictional version of the Viking age, and Mirage is 20 years before Valhalla in the Middle East. And yes, Odyssey allows you to be gay/bisexual, no matter which protagonist you play as, as does Valhalla, I think. Could be wrong, though.

he got it so wrong when it comes to history and this is why in my opinion ppl should learn even the basics. its the American revolution for III and Black flag isn't the one that is hated, it is odyssey and Valhalla. but these are nitpicking.
That’s the best part about going into something without any knowledge is getting the raw reaction and then over time you learn everything you need to know as you play through the games.
Almost all of these games have different protagonists, only Ezio trilogy (II, Brotherhood and Revelations) has the same hero Altair also shows up in 2 games, the first one when he is the only protagonist and in Revelations with Ezio From the first game to the Syndicate all games were chronological (well, almost chronological, Black Flag came out after AC III, but story in this game happened before story of III, the same thing with Rogue) and from Origins the franchise was a little bit rebooted because from Syndicate's 19th century London we went back to 1st century BC's Egypt and then to 5th century BC's Greece in Odyssey And I don't know where did you heard that Black Flag is hated by people, except for Ezio trilogy it's the most loved game of this franchise XD although I don't like it that much personally Oh, and also the main enemy of assassins is not church, but templars, they were a part of church but their beliefs are different so associating them with church is wrong
Ok so imma write a little here i hope you don't mind giving a brief description of every games setting (except rogue cause it's the only skippable game imo, to answer one of your questions) Ac1 is about altaïr ibn la'had and is set in Israel and syria during the 3rd crusade. Ac2 is about ezio auditore (pretty much everyone's favorite) set in Northern Italy during the Renaissance (specifically in Florence and Venice) Acb is also ezio, set in Renaissance Rome. That guy hes fighting is Cesare Borgia, son of Rodrigo Borgia the guy in the cart who history remembers better as pope Alexander VI. Acr is again about ezio, but also altaïr where ezio goes east to Constantinople and masayaf (the og assassin's fort in syria.. probably). It wraps up ezios story nicely and reveals deeper lore for the series in general. Ac3 features Connor, half native half British during the Revolutionary War. Some like Connor, others don't, I found this game a bit boring tbh but results vary and it's still definitely must play. Acbf is about Edward kenway, a pirate turned assassin during the golden age of piracy in the Caribbean. Not sure who told you this was one of the ones they didn't like, but that's a very unpopular opinion. When most ac fans are asked their favorite, it's usually between 2 and black flag. It's exactly the game you think it is and it's fantastic. I could sink a thousand Spanish ships and never get bored. Acu is about Arno Dorian and is set during the French revolution. That place they stormed is actually the storming of bastille, one of the most famous moments of the revolution. The French equivalent of the 4th of July is called Bastille Day in reference to this specific moment. Acs is about the twins, Jacob and Evie Frye and is set in Victorian era London. Jacob (trailer guy) is more brash, evie more calculated. You play as both throughout the game. Acor is about Bayek of Siwa and is set during late Ptolemaic Egypt (the dynasty that originates from Ptolemy, a general of Alexander the Great) that lady you saw WAS Cleopatra and that guy on the horse was Julius Ceasar believe it or not. It's the origin story of the hidden ones, the proto assassin's group. Acod is set during the Peloponesian war and features either Alexios or kassandra (you pick at the start) as you navigate the classical Greek world as a mercenary Acv is about a viking from Norway called Eivor and is set in the 9th century, mostly in England (but also a little in Norway, France, Ireland, and Canada). That king was King Alfred the Great of Wessex (Wessex being one of the four kingdoms that preceded England along with Mercia, Northumbria, and East Anglia). Fun fact, Alfred is the ONLY King in all of British history to be styled as "the great". Also, as a sidenote that old dude in the battle was odin alfather, the norse God, and his bird form, a raven. This is the first time the assassin's "eagle" wasn't actually an eagle. Finally, acm is set in 9th century Baghdad and features a character from valhalla named basim ibn ishaq. His story (though this game isn't out yet) is... interesting to say the least. He became really important really quickly in the valhalla dlcs and I think it's gonna throw some people who didn't play the dlcs. The thing that ties them all together is the animus, a device that lets you relive the lives of your ancestors (and in more recent games, anyone's ancestors) and a battle between two eternal factions, one of order (Templars, Abstergo and Order of the Ancients) and one of freedom (Assassins and Hidden Ones). Hope this helps a little bit. It's a rich mythos that spans all time and is likely to continue as long as they still have interesting stories to tell about history. Past mirage we know there's a game coming set in Japan (don't know when yet), one set in China (probably during the first imperial dynasty, the Qin) and one set in the Holy Roman Empire (probably during the Bamberg witch trials of the 17th century).

I'm surprised you heard so much hate for Black Flag. I got into the series around when it realised and it was always one of the more popular ones from what I saw. It and AC2 probably compete as the favourites. Some fans do think it's more of a pirate game than an Assassin's Creed game but even they usually say it's still good.
I do not understand why my Twitch community hated it so much. After reading everyone's comments they are all saying the opposite so I think my Twitch community may have been trolling me. I did believe them since I didn't have the chance to play through a lot of the series.

It seems like you need to accept the feedback that a lot of people have said that you talk too much. People feel frustrated about missing a video while you're talking, and they want to focus more on it.

Honestly you aren’t wrong, the US Education system for history is awful - I learned about 1776 for 3 years and never had a teacher move any forward with any other information. So they really didn’t prepare me for any type of understanding of US LET ALONE world history. It’s not so much of someone saying “the world doesn’t revolve around the US” it’s more “the US Education system should focus on expanding knowledge instead of focusing on the same thing for multiple years.” At lot of the US History Education is rooted in trying to “erase slavery” instead of addressing the mistake that our ancestors made. I’m excited to get to Unity now and just overall play the games though the lens that I have from my upbringing. We just started AC 2 and I’m having a blast thus far! 💕

I'm definetly not from a rich country such as the US but having talked to a few american friends i feel like education in my home country is still much more efficient and difficult than the US because it is more diverse in terms of both local and world history. Also i noticed that the US system doesn't focus enough on teaching other languages even though it plays imo a big role in raising awareness about other cultures and offers A LOT of new perspectives and opportunities worldwide. I'm joking around here but i do get that there is a whole dysfunctional system behind this. Playing AC can prove itself pretty educational btw even though it's not always historically accurate. Keep it up man ! Hope you'll enjoy Unity as i did.
Yeah it’s seriously is a huge problem which causes a lot of issues in America by cycling around the same ideology over and over again which makes my country AWFUL - I’m glad to see your country educated you about the world. I had to do that to the best of my ability by myself and only got so far with information. Who knows maybe Assassin’s Creed will fill some of those gaps as it already has with Assassin’s Creed 1 and the real fights between the Templars (Christianity) & the Assassin’s (Muslims) which occurred for 400+ years. I find it interesting how that fight between religions has continued into modern day with 9/11 in the US & other problems the US has had since it’s built on the Christian faith. It’s also interesting to see the comparison of how the Templars talk in Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines (I watched the cut scenes) and talk about the Muslims being nothing more than “Lambs” to them. The templars wanted to “guide the Lambs to their way of life” - which is then mirrored in todays society. Food for thought
