"How will we depict an all-black X-Men team?" "I know! Let's use a bunch of black stereotypes! That will make them feel more authentic!" "Wait, won't that actually risk being accused of using racist caricatures...?" 'IT WILL MAKE THEM FEEL MORE AUTHENTIC!!!"
"Let's make Mr Sinister and Mystique black." "But Sinister has pale white skin and Mystique has blue skin. How will the readers tell the difference?" "Oh just give them dreads and have them speak ebonics." *Me face palming*
Feels safe to assume writers get all their ideas from twitter and nowhere else. Like, someone really hung onto that "Magneto should be black" from years ago and finally brought it to fruition. Just reading ComicPerch retweeting a quote from Rick Remender, talking about how longevity is the key to comic success, and I wonder what the end goal is for Marvel. Is flash in the pan trends really making them the money they need to get by?
Legend has it a live action Robin Hood movie is being made and Robin will be a strong independent black woman who relies on her gang called the Hood in the streets of Chicago. The movie is called "Robin in the Hood: The Struggle is Real."
I hear they're making a whole Struggle-Verse with it. "The Struggle is Real" "The Struggle Continues" "The Struggle Never Dies" -Worst- Best Trilogy ever.
This may be due to the fact that I'm reading this late at night but I read that 1st line as "An entirely alternate relaity to work", as in this is a reality where work doesn't exist. The worst part: it still makes sense.
Well…. that’s an interesting take on this run. I for one loved seeing the representation of a full ethnic team. Each country in the world would benefit from having something to aspire to, not only mixed ethnicity.
Then why not have different localized X-men teams? Or branches that are founded across the world, and said branches would reflect more of the population of their respective countries? The US is a melting pot so it makes sense to have a diverse team. But maybe the Japanese X-men team or the South African team would be more homogenous. That would be a better route than just changing the surface traits of established characters. I also think the very idea undercuts Professor X's ideal, anyway. Hard to argue for Mutant-human unity if we can't even have ethnic unity. But I digress. If you're arguing for this PLUS the regular team, then ok.
Does Magneto count as Jewish anymore? I've never seen him join the Thing at the local synagogue, and he hates any human regardless of their religion. If anything, his Holocaust origins make his actions less sympathetic.
Well if they want to do the story about bishop they should have done a black X-Men team why not with bishop and storm instead of black washing characters for no reason
@@yusukeGum that would've been more preferrable(even tho I think they'll need more than just black people). But they race swapped them in this universe so they can claim it happened in the comics or to be credited as "that guy" once it makes it movies.
@@keenestfox6376 they better not make it into Movie if they think about doing professor X as the MLK or Magneto as Malcolm X it won't make no sense because Stanley he did say in an interview that never inspired them to be activists so this is just people that were thinking that it was meant to inspire these famous activists By the way professor X and Magneto were inspired by leaders Israelite leaders something like that but if you look at Magneto he's more like a Hitler reference what I'm saying because if you compare his backstory to Hitler there's a lot of similarity yes he's an extremist Magneto so he's not an activist so this is why they are doing these black washing for no reason they want to impress the black fans so they could feel more represented just to make a fool out of us as a people as many people they want to make a fool out of us so this is why they chose to do that
@@keenestfox6376 and they also probably thinking doing all characters gay in the X-Men universe but the thing is that the X-Men universe will never based on homosexuality they were based on discrimination against human species different type of human species with different issues with different problems
@@keenestfox6376 and I feel like the X-Men are based on disability discrimination against other human beings that in the human species probably yes there's also a racial issues reference but it's more about human species discrimination in general
Definitely cringe. And fragile too. The people that create these stories and swaps need therapy to deal with their inferiority problems. I LOVE X-Men. None of my favorite ones are like me...they are the opposite sex or a different race...I never cared because they were cool people with awesome powers. I didn't need Storm or Jubilee to be white. I didn't need Cyclops or Gambit to be women.
Exactly. Wolverine, Mystique, Rogue, and Storm are my favorite X-Men characters. They don't need to look like me just for me to like them. I'm black like Storm but that's not why she's one of my favorites. I love her powers and personality. This stuff is just ridiculous.
Uh, oh...I see the Tommy Pickes face! And you know what means... "Lil' Juggy" -Animaine, 2023. That's a future rap name, by the way. Freakin' Hotep Beast. What a name... Jokes aside...is this Bishop's version of _House of M?_
Isn't there a DC Universe where also most superheroes are black, but they're not raceswaped characters? Hell, wasn't there already a main black hero universe in Marvel, with Horus instead of Thor?
6:50 i don't like black wolverine his freaking design looks more racist then well a black version of our beloved Kandyan wolf boy like did his heir morf with his mask like what is this crap . i know that anime dose this too but there is a big difference between making it look good and making it look really freaking cringe & lame .
