I agree only fair-play comments at least vs ours media teams or even some sneaky english or weirdly scottish pundits always draw here and there a stereotypical judgement. So far i have never heard any South African commentary so apart from them potentially NZ are the best.
I'm a NZr and I enjoyed this. Seeing power and passion from a French team is something I have missed! I grew up watching rugby in the 90's and the French were something to be feared then, they beat us often and played hard and with flair. Sometime maybe 2004 onwards they just...really started to wane, it became kinda sad to see, especially the 2015 world cup quarter.final. This game showed me a French team that played like the France of old. Keep playing like this France and The 2022 6 nations is yours.
I'm french and I've been waiting for this match over a decade. It was as spectacular as I expected, a real clash of flairs and crazy momentum turnovers from two teams who just don't care to play it too fast. I had good hopes we would still have enough striking power with that young pair Dupont/Ntamack even if we really missed the speed of Thomas, our front liner super star Vakatawa, and even our cap Ollivon among several others. I'm released to see we finaly have enough first choice players to play a full season without calling D2 players to fill gaps. It was nice to offer real challenge to ABs again after a while. I will look forward our next encounters to get some more top quality clash. But get ready for an even harder fight, we're getting closer each game to find the right team, and next time we'll have Thomas speed and Vakatawa's bull power to add on field. Considering recent Northen teams performance on test matches, I feel next WC will be one of the most exciting and unpredictable ever.
@@hugoc.1557 The last 10 years have been so difficult as French fans, to go from most successful 6nations team to a team easy to beat hurt. This match nous fait du bien 😂 but there's a long journey ahead
I agree, however we (AB fans), don't know how good we have it with the commentary team of Grant Nisbett and co. As a Kiwi living overseas, I have been forced to watch Irish, English and Aussie commentary teams that lack any empathy for the opposing teams, who regularly slide in their own anecdotes at the expense of calling the action and demonstrate a fundamental lack of knowledge. I loved watching the French and enjoyed it even more with the appreciation from Nisbett, Marshall and Muliaina who were gasping and screaming at how great they played. You really don't know how good you have it!
I cannot agree more. Whenever I can, I always try to find the game with those two commentators or the Aussie ones with Rod KAffer also being very good. I definitely find their comments very interesting . Always a fine blend between technicality & heart & passion. It s rugby comments at its best. Not enough said.
@@jamesangus8504 Watch NZ commentators on the France 07 WC match. They spend the whole game moaning about Wayne Barnes and gave very little credit to the French defence, especially Dusautoir who made about 40 tackles.
"Me oh my, if you love the game, you love that counterattack from the French, no matter who you support." This sums up Rugby and what being a Rugby fan is about. As a French, it was the exact same feeling when we saw the mighty Lomu destroy French and English defences, or the genius of the likes of Dan Carter, Richie McCaw, Kirwan, Fitzpatrick and many others. You want all teams to be at their best, so that the game is the best. Can't wait for the next World Cup and see the clash of giants.
Theres been a hint of this evelution of tactical, skill and quality in the northen hemisphere. How are you meant to keep up when England, Ireland and France (all beaten the AB's). and then wales, scot and even italy are pulling unique things pushing any system in your team to the max. And all these teams play each other very reguarly. And when there not playing internationally they get to practice in club games with SA (probs why SA plays a lot like a euro side). I think something special is happening like in the womens game. Le crunch might become the match
One of the greatest first halves of rugby I've ever seen! That no-look pass from Ntamac... I could watch that on repeat all day. Great commentary from the Kiwis also.
I love how the commentator pronounces Nouméa "New meah" haha. Jokes aside, it had to be the greatest moment of Mauvaka's career, no doubt. He couldn't even answer the after match interviewer's questions because he couldn't help crying. What a day!
he couldn't help but cry in memory of his deceased father whose favorite team was the all blacks. Special moment for him !! great match two great teams
@@superwrench9445 French island? Kinda like how Mali was French Sudan? 🤣🤣🤣 He is still Polynesian. You know, like 80% of New Zealand's team? Ask him yourself. We Polynesians will always say we are polynesian (Samoan, Tahitian, Tongan, Uvean, Futunan, Maori, Aitutaki, etc) no matter where the modern world has taken us. He'll respect his adopted country for sure and show some kind of loyalty. But he knows who he is and where he is from. We are Moana 🤣
If France keep this team together, considering they are so young, they are my favourites for the world cup. The team is so balanced, a good blend of skill, brawn, and brains.
@@DrugsBunny973 France traditionally falls apart in any form of competition. Sure they can win a couple of games but in my opinion they don't have the temperament to win the RWC. Time will tell if I'm wrong or not.
@@BawlzOfuzz Lol are talking about the reigning football world cup champion? And about RWC from the 9 past edition France reached the final 3x… It’s for ppl like you that I hope they will make you eat your words, just a lack of respect for a great nation.
I am a French living in New Caledonia, i love nz more than any other country, and here is one of the many reasons: the commentators are very respectful and very fair. I was obviously very happy with France's victory, but i can't wait to go back to nz to see the allblacks at eden park at their best.
as a french guy, i'll just say : rugby has been tough on us for 10 years. im 36, old enough to know about 1999, to vibrate in 2007 (and regret not buying tickets). I just hope, lets not pretend. That was end of the season game. I'm proud, it was a great game. I have a ticket for WC 2023 opening. Please, guys, (speaking about you french guys here), lets focus on keeping it low. We were "supposed" to win in the past. Just enjoy the feeling of such a game. If it comes and the guys are playing like this... As Bonaparte said, ... joke. love you all.
Thanks mate, I watched the first half and then I had to do something else and couldn't finish it. I knew SOMEONE would upload this match, it''s so good.
Has to be the greatest, tactical, smart thinking, and skilful game of rugby in France's history against any team. Keep this unrelenting momentum and they are untouchable.
Ever since I can remember the only team in the world that could match the All Blacks for flair and invention in open play were the French. This was a game when les Bleu had the better of exchanges. It's nice to see rugby played this way. Thanks for the upload.
Late to the party, and being a very partial baguette witnessing one of the best performances of the decade from our side, it takes two team to make an amazing game like this, and the commentary is on point. In France they tend to overplay the team before, and kinda... hate on them whilst still being partial? Congrats to NZ commentary, I may just watch you guys in the world cup almost a year from now :) Cheers mates, can't wait to see these two teams playing each other again!
Fickou's celebrations at the end made me smile. Most of his French career was playing with inconsistant, badly managed teams that probably never beat the All Blacks since he got his first cap.
NZRugbyVids World Cup……this is what I love best about the beautiful game which is if the game is great, that satisfaction lies squarely on the field of play and the gladiatorial theatre! Even though this was played 2 years ago, the hosts for the 2023 Cup are serious favourites! Well done to both teams!
I hitchhicked all across up and down NZ in 1999 after all blacks lost against France, one driver asked me where i was from, i said 'France' he replied "if i knew i would not have stopped!'...
@Nz rugby team. See you next time. I really appreciate when my country play vs the New-Zealand one. We always have a great rugby match, very intense & qualitative specially when the New-Zealand team is on the grass.
As a NZ fan I can say the French just wanted it more. They played everything rather than waiting for the "next" play to happen. Did the same at the World Cup I really don't get what the ref saw as different between NZ handling out of the ruck and that of the French. Seems they both handled the ball but NZ got to charge in.
If France play this well at the World Cup in 2023 then I think they'll win it. Any victory against the All Blacks is special, but this was extraordinary from France. Champagne rugby ! Great to watch.
NZ commentators are the best in the world, maybe its easier to appreciate the opposition because home team usually wins, or maybe as I would like to think it's because of the love of the game in a country that cherishes the game. (edit) happy to see AB's lose from time to time, this game exposed current squad
God of Rugby at Thy feet, In the bonds of love we meet
A big thankyou should go out to the referee for actually trying to help keep the All Blacks in the game with his interpretation of when the ball is out of the ruck.
Can someone please explain the offside that follows 39:07 to someone who hasn't played rugby? I tried to watch offside videos, read some rules, listened to the commentary, watch in slow motion and I don't understand where the offside was. Thank you.
I always thought Danty was a class player and I'm glad to see he's getting his game for France again, and playing well. This was a great performance. Busting Retallick!
Bro, am i the only one who saw 2 high shots on GBridge & Nepo within the first 2 mins?! Then Jbarrett holding up French for a mual only to be told a tackle?!! Sheese !
My guess is the "alternative commentary" was the Amazon feed with Conor McNamara, Benjamin Kayser and Paul Grayson. So A1 would be Grant Nisbett, Justin Marshall and Miles Muliaina while A2 would be Conor McNamara, Benjamin Kayser and Paul Grayson.
Am I the only one saying what a pure English used here in the commentary ????? even me a French man understand what they said !!!!!!! and with a lot of class!!!!
All Blacks in white wtf, epic match and kudos to France cest Classique. French supporters were amazing full house waving tricolour singing 2021 hardly a mask in sight! Bravo
Great comments i’m very impressed of the quality and neutrality. When I lived in England I didn’t like to watch because the Brit’s comments were always sided especially when we played England.
Great rugby. Brilliant commentary! Well done France. (Can't help saying as an Englishman; that wearing white jerseys on the rugby field always makes you look dirty and worn out by the end of the game. Big mental advantage to the opposition.)
51:26 haven't seen that strategy before - excluding the 9 and just running the ball with the forwards. Yielded a lot of metres and a penalty. Strange they didn't employ the same tactic again
When the forwards get white line fever they don't want the scrum half passing the ball to the backs or even taking the glory himself. This close to the line and behind on points the foewards will try for a bit of glory themselves.
