Indeed and in the world of professional sports in general, names like Jason Belmonte or Walter Ray Williams Jr. don't get enough recognition. Nice channel btw!

Athletes don’t necessarily need to be able to run a mile. Anyone who thinks that’s all an athlete is, is an ignorant person. They put sports like shot put and curling in the olympics. Same with archery and shooting. Bowling is an awesome sport! It takes so much skill and technique and literally years of practice. Then there’s the mental aspect and always changing environment to overcome! A sport no doubt!!!

There’s something so satisfying about watching bowlers in the zone, and the sounds of pins falling and echoing. People don’t realize how beautiful this sport is!

Really enjoy these types of bowling videos. People that compete in leagues need to see this. It will humble them. We sometimes get carried away with our "ability", but when you compare it with PBA members, it's clear we have a LONG way to go to equal these skilled professionals.
@JimmyBridgesBowlsAgain
@JimmyBridgesBowlsAgain Год назад
Yeah i used to be a PBA member, mostly bowled in the Western Region and sometimes a tour stop here and there but yeah it’s definitely a different level and most league bowlers don’t understand cuz the tour guys arent bowling on a house shot even though this video looked like it was wide open. Ive crossed with Marshall Holman, Ryan Shafer (who’s in the video) Del Ballard, George Branham (first AA to win a title) to name a few. Fine times. I just picked up a ball after 10 years this season.

I FINALLY see someone use the same style as me after years and years of not seeing it exactly. mr Jim Pratt uses the EXACT same style to a T! So cool to finally see someone use what ive been calling my slider shot. I wonder if it has a name or not. I learned to throw a hook like that on my own at my local alley. my line up and follow through were taught to me by a coach, but the thumb out thing I did because I had big thumbs and most of the 12 lb balls had small thumb holes. I wonder if he has a story of why he bowls without his thumb? In so excited someone bowls like me tho! My last average was 212 mostly using that style. I have a traditional throw i use when the lanes are too wet tho, but for the most part its just fun to grip it and rip it! Oh and I used a spider wasp as my strike ball, and some plastic ball from the 80s as my pickup ball. Cool story, the pickup ball i got from my grandpa as a present. He was using bowling balls as cannon balls and I took a liking to this particular ball because it was shiny, red, and the finger and thumb holes were PERFECT fit already so no redrilling. The spider wasp was a present from my late coach. He said "I don't know how you do it, but you doin it son. Must be an athlete or somethin." While coaching me and it gave me the confidence to take bowling seriously. I love seeing people come up with their own styles for bowling. Takes me back to the days id slend 2 hours a week just working on the little things in my throw like how far id turn my hips, or the angke of my pinkey, whether id let my left ahoulder lead or keep it parallel with my right. Most of these guys probably were exactly like me at some point. Its not just a game for us, its an art style we are trying to perfect.

The old man dyes his hair, I'm fairly certain. Although his physical appearance may look a little contrived, I am amazed at how much he can hook the ball, and how great he throws the ball.

Belmo’s got the most graceful, smoothest and balanced style for a two hander but somehow walking sideways off line from the ball’s initial trajectory. Jesper’s second but the others look rather awkward and laboured. Gomez stretches out looking like how an ice skater lands a jump. Many of the ladies flap their arms all over the place after their follow through for some unknown reason. If the flapping was in line with ball swing then it’d make sense but it doesn’t. Marshall Kent looks as smooth as silk bur not as natural as “Mr Swing” Mike Fagan.
@PebblesChan
@PebblesChan 3 года назад
Since Belmo’s derated his ball speed and revs it’s made him more accurate and consistent. Others are trying to force the ball or are jerky which is difficult to consistently repeat. I consider myself as a crappy bowler but am repetitive and just let the ball and push away amount do the dictate the speed and this has allowed me to bowl many games of 250+ thru 289 in 4 player per team league. I loft the left gutter cap and put no sideway revs on the ball to hit the 10 pin for spares because I consider that only the left front quadrant of the pin is hittable.
@AthleticBowling
@AthleticBowling 3 года назад
Years and a lifetime devoted to make it work like, that's my opinion. Every bowler is unique, and the point is to make your uniqueness work on your favor to eventually be the best bowler. Agree?
@PebblesChan
@PebblesChan 3 года назад
Yes and no. If you just let the ball do the work, your longevity as a good bowler is extended. If you require muscle, then as you age your skills will likely diminish. For instance, the legend Norm Duke essentially lets the ball do work and he's still really competitive even though he's younger than me but much older than the young'uns who've had nothing but reactive resin and think Urethane is a new thing. I really miss Mike Fagan from the tour. He's as smooth as silk.
