@@arhamdad4788 Either it was the all the damage and holes in his brain that lead him to no longer be himself at all, or someone else did it. Really only 2 options I can see.
People still believe he killed his family... I bet you didn't know about his 45 minute phone call with him and Chavo and that he mentioned someone was at his door knocking...And people wonder why there was no forced entry he literally let his killer inside his home.
Hearing Chavos telling of this, the text he received, then hearing this man repeat the text verbatim,is heartbreaking. Not excusing the crime committed, but R.I.P. Benoit Family.
wats weird bout Dennis Fagan is there is no known records of Dennis Fagan working for the NYPD. lastly why was he implying that Chris was a religious gentlemen? those that new him best knew Chris was not religious at all in fact it was Guerrero that got Benoit curious bout it. I don't get how Chavo would be the 1 that knew Holly was good with the dogs meanwhile these 2 dingus McGee's playin phone tag askin for a gatecode being scared of a couple of dogs. call the pound or heck use a restraining wand if they show aggression. a lot of this seems off.
Whats crazy about this video to me.. The calm phone calls back and forth, dogs barking, cops and neighbours slowly assembling to get near the house and check in, meanwhile in the house, its complete silence and 3 people including a child are deceased. The fact that Benoit did it over a weekend, and that he basically slept 2 nights in the same house as his dead family before doing himself.. i lost sleep thinking about it at the time the details first came out I grew up watching Chris Benoits career, and now at 33 i still cant wrap my head around what he did
I’m not gonna lie. I actually just played Smackdown vs Raw 07 a few weeks ago on my PS2 (heavy nostalgia, I love playing old games). And Undertaker literally did exactly this. It was weird because in Season Mode, Teddy Long left a voicemail to your superstar saying “Nobody has seen Benoit all weekend! We don’t know where he’s at!” 🥴🥴🥴 crazy to think about.
not only that but they threw that suicidal ass song “forgive me” on the soundtrack, i never thought much about it but it seemed like benoit had killing himself premediated for the year 07 regardless with the way everything lined up.
There was also a SD vs. RAW game where one of Undertakers storylines had him place Eddie Guerrero in a casket and gave a long eulogy for him. Im pretty sure this game came ouy shortly before Eddies tragic passing as well. Weird.
What's way disturbing is the fact that most of us (me and my dad where at that ppv) where waiting to see him at Vengance and fight against Cm punk while all of this was happening.
Just knowing what the police would find inside the house is heartbreaking! It has to be very hard for officers to witness such things. Props and thanks to all of the good officers out there, who keep us safe!
@@seheadhunter50 are tone deaf?! You’re not an officer or an investigator. You weren’t there. Where is your evidence? Stop defending your lover Chris Benoit. The guy wasn’t a 100% innocent angel before this tragedy took place. He had domestic abused Nancy years before and was known to have a demeanor.
I feel like Chris was in a place mentally we can’t even imagine. I grew up with him on TV and while he wasn’t my favorite he shaped my childhood when he was on Nitro. Sad situation all around
Yeah, the place mentally that we can't even imagine is that he was a longtime domestic abuser. That's the fundamental fact at the core of this tragedy, not brain damage.
What this man did was inexcusable. People love making excuses for horrible acts. He preyed on his own wife and his own small child. People want to pretend some ghost jumped into his body and did it because "HE ENTERTAINED ME". I don't put my entertainment above anyone's LIFE. Especially an innocent child. He was sharp enough to still put on great technical wrestling matches and make his events on time; that demonstrates that had self-control. It was his CHOICE to commit these horrible acts. His brain was damaged but he was clearly still highly functional. This was HIS choice; not some poltergeist that jumped into his brain. There are men miraculously alive from getting their brain half blown off, and THEY didn't make any excuses to touch children. Benoit did.
im sure what happened IS the most unsettling outcome. Likely anything that went on in peoples head that day was innocent or naive to the real destruction that happened. "Wheres the Benoits, I really hope they havent died in a car accident" --- worst case scenario wouldnt even suspect the morbid reality
911: What does he look like? Caller: He has a very wide neck...looks like a wrestler. 911: Ah...okay. 911 operator to cops: I have a description...look for a wide-neck guy. 😳
@@jamesb8619 no kidding. Everyone exaggerates their height in the limelight. The only person who seems bigger in person is Undertaker. I knew he was big but seeing him in person, he was a monster
How often do you think police call 911 to report crimes? Someone could have recorded whatever was reported over police radio though. But we would all have heard it if it was, most likely.
There most likely wouldn't have been anymore calls from dispatch to the reporting person after the discovery of the scene. A detective or police officer would have called the reporting person. However, death notifications are often handled by the Coroner's Office. They need to time to get to the scene, do an investigation, and then notify the next of kin. The coroner's office sometimes doesn't like it for nonfamily members to find out before the remaining family does. So, it's possible the detectives wouldn't even have called back until a significant amount of time later.
Lmao "his name is Chris Benoit the rabid wolverine, he is about 6'1 270 pounds and is one of best technical wrestlers in the world so you might wanna send back up because tonight he will take back is world championship" Operator- "Sir what is the address?"
It's horrible to think that they were all inside the house for hours on end while the dogs had somehow got loose and were stopping the police from finding them. I couldn't imagine what those officers were feeling once they got in the house and found them.
@@Randy.lorenzo is this misinfo i never remember the story being the dogs were loose and preventing entry. Didnt Chavo get a text about where he had locked the dogs up? And didnt the neighbour know the Benoits enough that the dogs were friendly with her? Have I woke up in another Universe?
@@xPadge112xDark Side of the Ring did a great job covering this, although timelines (including details like this) are typically cleaned up due to time constraints. Obviously, based on these calls, it's totally possible that it took a while for police to gain access to the house. DSOTR interviewed the neighbor who let them in, but the timeline of how long it took to get into the house wasn't discussed in the episode.
Imagine being a cop that is fan of wrestling and being the first person in the world to find out the one huge star has took away his life and his family's ones... They must have felt very different weird emotions. I mean, a very popular wrestler that you know for years ends up like that, and you go inside his house and find him dead... So many different emotions one after the other.
@@wresling300you dont know that lol cops are humans too my big brother is a cop and is the biggest fucking wrestling mark I've EVER met he literally got me into wrestling 😂😂
Both Fagan and the officer seemed to have the same thought about what the situation might be. I'm sure the officer has had similar situations before and knew that when there was this much wrong and silence from the house, whatever was waiting inside probably wasn't good. I'm guessing Fagan was hoping against hope that it was some misunderstanding or innocent situation but when Benoit missed consecutive shows, you knew something was very wrong.
These calls are scary, I’m almost 20 and I remember seeing Benoit on tv in 2006 and my grandma told me I couldn’t watch it. And I remember my cousin was crying because she told me Benoit passed and i didn’t understood as a kid
LITTLERLY SAME!!! My dad wouldn’t tell me the whole story as a kid. Rightfully so because I really loved him almost wasn’t allowed to watch wrestling after that happend
@@brettpritchard265 I was thinking the same thing... the tragedy happened in 2007 but they are talking like as if it happened in 2006 but probs it's just a typo
@@krueger92 That's not what he said at all. He said he (at almost age 4) remembers watching Benoit in 2006 and his grandma told him that he couldn't watch it. At no point did he come close to mentioning that he watched Benoit on "2 separate occasions". Of course, Benoit was still an active wrestler and the tragedy was still a year away from taking place. He then states that his cousin, who appears to have come from the future, was crying and told him that Benoit had passed away and he didn't understand it.
For the record, it wasn't just one thing that led to this... Benoit's brain was absolute mush from CTE, he was depressed from losing Eddie & others, he was taking alcohol and substances, and apparently his marriage was falling apart. Like most disasters it wasn't one thing but more of a combination of factors that led to tragedy. I still remember the moment I found out, I was in Kansas City at a SkillsUSA event... I was in the hotel room and turned on the TV to watch Raw and they are playing clips from Chris Benoit's special they made after he won WHC and in the bottom right it said 'Remembering Chris Benoit' my jaw dropped. The next night I attended the competition results ceremony at Kemper Arena, which some of you will recall is where Owen Hart fell to his death. It was all so eerie, I'm getting goosebumps just writing about it. EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that I actually met Chris at Fan Axxess for Wrestlemania 19 in Seattle. Not like I hung out with him or anything, just a "how ya doing?" handshake/signature... even in a friendly jovial environment he definitely had a quiet intensity to him. Pretty firm handshake. I've met 7 wrestlers in my life and his was the second strongest, only Kip James/Billy Gunn's was stronger.
No, it wasn't the CTE... It was the realization of losing everything you had worked for in succession... His best friend, his job, his wife... Mixed in with mood altering drugs ... He had an extreme meltdown where everything that mattered in his life was rapidly slipping away... Benoit knew exactly what he was doing but the emotional trauma of losing everything that mattered to him was too much and he snapped... He killed his wife, son, and himself because he was out of control and the only thing he could control was how it would all end
@@neillscott4192 Because he was drunk on Friday night when he killed Nancy and killed himself on Sunday night after snuffing Daniel out on Saturday morning. Roughly 48 hours is plenty of time for booze to leave system. Listen to the story that Simon Dean (Nova) tells about a drunk Benoit searching for Justin Roberts. Benoit absolutely did drink.
The first call was heartbreaking because they were all dead at that point. And the final call was very chilling because it was right before they entered Benoit’s house
Far and away the saddest thing to ever happen in pro wrestling. An innocent boy lost his life, a loving wife lost her life, a man who seemed to be one of the nicest guys in the sport ruined his legacy, and another son lost them all and has to carry that cross for the rest of his life, to the extent that he's not even allowed into wrestling. Friends, family, fans - all devastated. Incomprehensible on all levels.
@@samsaverino8159 I highly doubt he’ll ever be hired to big name companies such as WWE, AEW, TNA, ROH, or NJPW. He may get chances to have matches at small venues with no name companies, but that’s about it. Doesn’t help that he’s gone on record saying he wants to be called Chris Benoit Jr…
@@samsaverino8159 He will never be allowed in any big promotion, unlike other second generation superstars who basically get a free invitation even if they suck. Chris Jericho actively went out of his way to sabotage Benoit Jr's offerings to wrestle at some smaller shows. The most he could hope for is wrestling in some mud shows in front of a few hundred people or so, and even that under a different name or with a mask, which he likely has understood by now as well because he is 30 now and hasn't really wrestled anywhere from what I know, at some point you get too old to start.

It's scary because as a kid you watch movies like The Shining with enjoyment of the horror... But then you get older and see these real horror stories and realize there's nothing to enjoy about the horror of somebody becoming psychotic... One moment you're living the American Dream and years later it all falls apart turning you into a monster
If you think about it…he died twice physically and mentally. The day eddie Guerrero died his soul basically left his entire body. he wasn’t the same after that.
Those messages that were sent at 3 in the morning do seem weird but I feel like Chris did text those messages on his and Nancy''s phone right before his/her death!
Nancy died on Friday night and Daniel died on Saturday so it’s likely he sent these after Daniel had passed. In my opinion the Benoit tragedy and the Owen Hart tragedy are the 2 darkest days in all of wrestling I don't think any other tragedy will ever beat them.
The Bensnot thing doesn't count as in wrestling. It crosses over and affects it, but it is separate. The Owen Hart death was bad planning by Vince & WWF, which crosses over into the world the opposite way. I say the Bensnot deaths don't count, because just cause he was a wrestler doesn't make it part of the business. Owen's death was from the business.
I went to his former high-school during this time. It was the most awkward couple of weeks he had a display set up for his accomplishments that was quickly took down by the end of the day.

@@Dean-wh4mmyes the Eddie situation played a big part during that dark period. His death broke a lot of fans and wrestlers, Benoit was a clear example. He lost his way and went off the deep end, went deep into the drug and pill addiction which played a role in his dementia like brain. Eddie was the most heartbreaking death in wrestling history and Benoits was the darkest and most disturbing. So yes, 05-07 was a dark period in wrestling
Eddies death was heartbreaking but I wouldn’t say it was dark it’s not like he was murdered or something. But yes the Beniot situation was definitely dark
Such a shame. His brain was really damaged, I know that doesn’t excuse what he did but if maybe he had gotten help sooner then this probably wouldn’t have happened
Yea and this was also the time where his heart wasn't doing good he was gonna die either way somewhere around 2008 but that would have been better because at least he would have been remembered
@@berlynmeave416 You’re not gonna defend Jeffrey Dahmer just because he was curious about what happened if you put acid into someone’s brain. In fact, Jeffrey Dahmer and Benoit both killed people in cold blood but you only choosing to defend one is quite the double standard. Benoit strangled his wife and when police found her, she was bound with tape and a makeshift gag of a tube sock and tape was found in the bin. Benoit tied and gagged his wife when he strangled her so no one could hear her scream, but when I call Benoit the monster that he is, you hide behind the CTE excuse? You’re defending Chris Benoit the wrestler, Chris Benoit who has CTE. But when it comes to the murder suicide, you should be talking about Chris Benoit the person, Benoit as a father who killed his son, Benoit as a husband who killed his wife. Benoit was a bully backstage and Nancy nearly filed for divorce in 2003 because Chris was abusive, but go ahead and tell me CTE was the excuse when in reality he was always a piece of shit who couldn’t control himself.
Tbf the headbutts were probably the least of it, but the chairs to the head and hitting the back of your head on moves. It's not like he ACTUALLY hit his head on them hard enough to hurt someone.. wrestling IS "fake" after all
@@NeCoruptionIt was the diving headbutt from the top rope. Proven to cause real world concussions to the one doing it. Dynamite Kid, Harley Race, Brian Danielson, Benoit, everyone who uses it ends up wrecked from it for real.

If you watch the CM Punk match at Vengeance 2007 (41 minutes in) you can hear the crowd chant "We want Benoit." It's so surreal, by that point people still had no clue what had happened. You can even hear Benoits replacement, Johnny Nitro respond to the crowd by saying "You got Johnny Nitro!" on the second round of chants.
I just want to point out that Chris Benoit has a surviving son and I think it's a little messed up that because of what his father did the support rug for his son was pulled out right from under his feet when most likely not being rude what saved his life was not being there that night so it's not his fault so stop blaming a kid for what his father's done! My hats go off to the people in the company who stayed close to his son after this and knew that it wasn't his fault and he still needed support after all he was just a child that just lost his mom father and sibling not to mention the whole wrestling community!!!! Let's be honest wrestlers and fans .... I don't know maybe I'm being biased because Chris was one of my favorite wrestlers that doesn't mean that I condone or forgive his actions it simply means that I admired what he did in the ring!!! Toothless aggression the rabbid wolverine and the flying head butt will always live in infamy in my memory as fond great memories I'm sorry that's just the truth!!!
For the record David Benoit's mom wasn't Nancy, his mom was Chris' wife prior to Nancy. Still pretty tragic for him, people have said the most ugly, vile things to him. It's the worst of humanity.
If I remember correctly he was packing to go to visit his father, if the tragedy happened a week or so later would’ve meant everyone was gone, it’s really shocking to think how much could’ve chanced in the span of a few days, I don’t think WWE should just pretend Benoit didn’t exist, but if he is mentioned, mention his family who perished in that house, all we hear is “the psycho murderer killed his family” “coward hung himself after killing his wife and son” that’s the majority of what’s said, it just feels like people jump in the bandwagon of “he’s an evil murderer” what he did was monstrous, I personally believe, he had a drink, an argument happened, Benoit killed his wife while drunk, after the struggle, he wakes up the next day realises what he’s done, and gets some medicine, he drugs his son, and strangles him, he then drinks some more to take off the guilt, as there was alcohol near his body, then after a while sat down drinking, he hung himself, the only people who really know what happened are dead, Sullivan didn’t kill Benoit, they didn’t like each other but why would he kill them years later, makes no sense, I think it’s a stupid theory, the brain damage, drugs, and alcohol all constituted, there’s no, one thing that caused it, in the end we will always be talking about what caused it.
But the kid is a man now and won't let that shit alone . Keeps defending his father like he's an innocent man. What he did was unforgivable people need to accept that. Whatever he did in his career doesn't justify his actions
Theres no excuse for what he did but theres an explanation. His brain was equivalent to an 80+ year old with severe alziemers. The Dr couldnt believe how bad the CTE was. This combined with the grief of losing Eddie and substamce abuse. It not an excuse for him killing his wife and kid but it definetly adds context to what happened. Had he not had major CTE and delt with his depression properly im sure none of this would have happened. Its tragic all around. May they all rest in peace.
And there are autotopsy that showed that Wayne Gacy had severe brain damage and evidence of sexual trauma as child. THAT DOESN'T EXCUSE WHAT HE OR BENOIT DID. THEY CHOSE TO PUT THEIR HANDS ON A CHILD. Just because one is an entertainer that you want empathize with doesn't make it ok. There's an "explanation" for everything, nothing happens in a vacuum.
In my school days in 2000s , i always kept Benoit higher than Undertaker and hulk hogan . Cant really believe this what time kept for him. Man , destiny can be such cruel sometimes.😢
From watching WWE I did not see any signs from his matches or even promos or interviews that May had occurred after Eddie’s death and his friends death. Now that I’m rewatching those promos and interviews, it makes sense. And Benoit being so socially awkward for years, others didn’t see any signs of it either. That’s why.
I don't know why it was sold to me and the overall public mainly by Chavo that the texts he received from Benoit made no sense when you can hear from a policeman on this phonecall that THE DOGS were actually ENCLOSED IN THE POOL AREA although there wasn't an confirmation on the garage side door being open but I must assume that was also true and that's how the police managed to get in the crime scene.
Yes, he was deeply damaged but so are many other people in various ways and they don’t murder their wife and kids, he died a monster end of conversation.
It just breaks my heart with his last message was he was basically telling everybody goodbye I mean he even said it the texts ... the dogs are in the backyard the back door is unlocked goodbye!!! 😥 And it sort of does really piss me off and upset me that it took them so long after those texts came through to freaking go and check on him I believe it was like a few days too! it wasn't until he missed his show that they gave a shit to call and find out where he was that's pretty freaking low if you ask me!!!

I believe in situations where someone died in the house and an investigation was involved (murd3r, suicid3, unattended deaths) they're required to tell potential future residents about that house's history.
@@UMANGPLAYSThe difference is that most of the wrestlers doing that move today protect their heads, by either hitting the headbutt near opponents body or putting their hands on the mat first. To make it worse...he used to take chair shots at the back of his head as well which as actually a stupid idea. No doubt he got a brain equivalent to a 85 year old alzheimer's patient's brain.
An officer is not allowed to enter a household or property without a search warrant. It was a welfare check. They cannot put themselves in harms way of 2 aggressive dogs if it is not confirmed of what’s inside the house.
