Taker IS WWE. When you have a guy that's been the standard for over 30 years and is willing to do the job for others, there's no doubt he's gonna be THE GUY.
@@spicy4230no he’s not lol. It’s Hogan/Austin/Rock/Flair or cena depending on when you grew up watching wrestling. Undertaker is on the same tier as cena but I wouldn’t put him above or at the same level as Austin rock hogan and flair. That’s me personally though
@@sTheghost718that’s fair but imo taker is up there with because of his longevity, backstage presence, and all of his wrestle mania moments because when I think about wrestlemania I think about iconic moments like the streak and all those matches. But it just depends on what era you grew up in
@@sTheghost718what did flair did particularly for WWE and if we are talking about famous worldwide Wrestlers almost everyone knows Undertaker he is household name in almost every country while Flair is not
Taker could also do the inverse of that: he could win but make the other guy look better at the same time. The ladder match with Jeff Hardy for example. Taker may have went over, but Jeff is the one that got over in that match.
Taker was a class act from start to finish, but I don't know if Hulk would have been Hulk without being the manipulative ego maniac that he sometimes was. The 80s wwf was full of huge egos and personalities and I think Hulk needed be who he was to stay top dog. I mean, WrestleMania was named after Hulkamania
Absolutely. His channel is really good… every wwe fan should check it out. I been watching 1-2 videos a day since I found it in my feed. A lot of stuff I always wondered about he answered.
He did it for Kozlov years later as well. Nothing came really of either moment, but Taker has never let his star power get in the way of doing what he thought was right.
Kozlov beating Undertaker clean was probably the biggest wasted moment next to Corbin retiring Angle. At least Khali won a world title and had a main event run. Kozlov fizzled out into a sidekick and later comedy act once his winning streak ended I feel like Gunther is what Kozlov was supposed to be
Taker become an entity in WWE. He was an event himself. Every wrestlemania, every entrance, every finish, every appearance was an entity in itself. He was given a halloween gimmick and made it something more than anyone ever thought it would have been. He was even able to keep that character and evolve it in the attitude era keeping the gothic and then switching to a biker cutting promos and pushing main stream story lines. He was and still is WWE.
Maybe old school Michaels. When he came back in ‘01/‘02, he jobbed a LOT. He had the belt for like one month and that was it. On pay-per-view especially, he was willing to job.
The definition of a consummate professional . Never screwed over those he worked with, always tried to do what was best for the company and his opponent on any given night. Committing to any job for 30 years is hard, but to do so while staying in character as a mythical nothing can hurt me zombie undertaker and still being convincing into your 50’s is pretty impressive
And what an iconic worker. All around the globe he's seen, and considered as if he was eternal and still be active like the 2000s never went away, the face and the best wrestler of the roster and WWE.
We all love Taker. But we tend to forget what a great worker Rocky was back in the days. He did not hesitate to put over talents ranging from rookie Lesnar to Hurricane. I think Hurricane is still grateful for those segments and win. If the story demands then Rock and Taker are ready to put talent over.
To be honest I dont think he had a choice to put Brock over. Brock was and still is a monster and he was destined to be a big deal. He was no normal rookie. If Rock would have won he would have been booed out of the building. Everyone wanted and expected Brock to win. It was cool how he put over hurricane tho. He didn't have to do that but he did.
A certain SCSA did not want to put Brock over though by then he had crossed his prime. I get his point though. He did not want to loose in a random episode of RAW. But he did not show interest to work with him in any PPV either. Instead he simply walked away.
Dwayne only worked with those guys after Austin had mini feuds with Little Spike Dudley, Yoshihiro Tajiri and Taz in 2001 and made sure they got Main Event pay as well.
Rocky learned that from Taker. If you read his autobiography the Rock says it was Taker who helped skyrocket his career when he agreed to put him over clean. The Rock was so grateful he told Taker that he would put him over anytime. I believe thats what got Rock to do the same for other guys once he got to the top.
Taker was the leader of that locker room. Maven has a RU-vid channel and it’s pretty damn informative and entertaining for anyone that doesn’t know. I highly recommend any wrestling fan, especially from that era to watch.
I met Taker in 2010 at a rehearsal on raw .. I got the honor of getting in the ring and bumping for him as I'm the same hight as Rey Mysterio whom he was in a short programme with. He took a few bumps for me too. Absolute gentleman... damn nice man to boot. Mark Callaway is a genuinely great man..
@@marcforgues9393 it truly was... really surreal... no gimmick or ... just Mr Mark Callaway and myself Anthony ... He asked me "can you please take the Tombstone for me, as I want to be able to protect Rey properly.. and you of course " what a gentleman he was
You’ve got a lot more willpower than I do. I guarantee if Taker were to say to me “Hey I’m working with John Cena tonight, you’re about his height can you take some bumps for me?” I’d be marking out too hard.
Truth!!!!! Even the most bitter people have good things to say about him Even Brett (Brett dislikes a lot of guys), Cornette, and Abdullah the Butcher have respect for him
@@El_Carnivoro1776Bret has every right given what happened to his brother and how Vince fkd him over. Not to mention Goldberg moron who didn't even know what the fk he was doing
In a business as self interested as wrestling can be, to have there be a performer who genuinely you'll struggle to find people that have a negative thing to say about is exceedingly rare
@@Erlewyn All the people he offered to lose to refused out of respect and then Vince decided to have Brock end the streak. The streak was even better than a Wrestlemania title match. When it ended, a certain part of Wrestlemania ended with it
No, I think The Streak should be ended. It's just that they put the wrong person to end it. Brock obviously doesn't need it since he is already established in the WWE.
I say losing it to Lesnar was the biggest gripe I had, Lesnar was already a beast and look at all the other guys he’s squashed.. what did he gain by defeating him? Imagine if they waited to end it with the Fiend beating him or something like that.. would have done way more for both parties.
The rock is putting over Cody by becoming the heel and elevating the threat (similar to how Batista and Orton elevated Daniel Bryan), well that’s my take anyhow
@@thesilentonejg524Yall don’t know shit if y’all were gonna hold him to putting Cody over. Rock has always put talent over, in his prime too. Cena imo has hogan beat, by far.
The only bad thing i heard about taker is he bullied a lot of guys and prank a lot of person backstage when he's in his younger career, other than that he's a nice guy
He was also willing to stand up for others when needed. The Rock and the Miz have both said. When they needed to stand up for them, he stood up for them.
I wonder if there's an element of The Undertaker providing order to the locker room, where each wrestler wants the calm he brings and so don't test it.
Taker is always respectful evne towards people he could say bad thing about. He stays polite. And I think that's why no one can say anything bad about him.
DDP WAS hot shit my friend. He was SO over in WCW it was unbelievable, you probably don’t know your wrestling history, no offence, but Vince done DDP so so dirty when he came over, if he wasn’t loyal to WCW and had jumped ship like Jericho or Eddie, he would have gotten a pass, but Vince made it his life’s goal to humiliate WCW guys who waited until it folded. There are so many examples of both sides of the story I can’t begin to describe. Anyway, my point is DDP was a legend and was in the business just as long as taker beforehand. That stalker storyline cemented his fate in WWF.
@@jayboy2kay7 I know my Wrestling History, thanks. Being over in WCW doesn't mean shit in another Company. You don't walk into another locker room when you're the new guy and instantly think you're the Man.
Taker is just such a real, humble, guy. Which is part of why he stands out. How many wrestlers of his stature are ego cases who say one thing to your face and another behind your back? Wrestling aside, hes just a cool, laid back guy that you just would want to hang out with.
Taker isn’t always mentioned amongst the greats in terms of wrestling all the time, (cause it’s mostly subjective) But he’s always number 1 on the list of respected. To me that goes a longer way…
@@loyloygeralde554right. This isn’t a hip hop convo at all but Lil Wayne comes across the same… respect as well but because of how hard he works and even though I feel he oversaturated himself at a time, he never had an issue with featuring on a track with someone who didn’t have quite a name yet.
Watch any interview with Taker, he seems like a happy, contented, interested, easygoing guy. No insisted ego, no bs. Nothing to prove, not trying to impress anyone. Just a guy who worked hard. That's the key to life, never be afraid to readily admit your mistakes and praise and help others. It's simple
@@naffy_0558 it wasn't an accident. People were allowed to do it though. Taker as well as the other guys were immature pricks and aided in kanyons fate.
I saw him and Austin tell a little girl to f off when she asked for an autograph in Dayton Ohio years ago. Never had any respect for either of them since.
@@ryanshough5066 you saw taker, and austin, tell a little girl to "fuck off" when asked for an autograph. did they say it simultaneously? was it at an autograph session? need the details because that sounds unbelievable.
@@GoingMach5 after a WWF show at the nutter center in Dayton Ohio. There was probably 20 of us waiting in the freezing rain to see the wrestlers as they came out. Several guys stopped and were signing. Then Austin came out and she was the first one to him and he said "F*** Off kid" and kind of just pushed past everyone. Then probably ten mins later Taker came out and there was just a few of us still waiting then including the little girl and her I assume dad. She walked towards him and hadn't even said anything and he said "just back the F*** off" very rudely and put his hand kind of in her face. It obviously scared the poor girl. Her dad yelled asshole and taker just flipped him off and kept walking. This was before everyone had cell phones and cameras on them all the time.
