Everyone acting like Shart didn't pick this fight. I always talk her down, but she's 100% in the wrong here. Even the way she talks about the other Sharrans on her mission; that's like bank robbers or home invaders getting upset when the cops or victims fight back. "Your people were 'lost to Githyanki blades' because you stole something from them. Stop acting innocent."
Not really, if anything they both didn't help their case shadowheart didn't want to fight but lae'zel insisted so it makes sense she'd get the jump on her in the night. Especially from her point of view in doing her mission. Shadowheart should have been more open and told more but that artifact is keeping the party alive and secrecy is ingrained in her. (Also, she is brainwashed to believe Shar's ways are right) Lae'zel shouldn't have resorted to a fight even though it belongs to her people. Both of them didn't help their case.
I'll do you one better; it's possible to NEVER get this scene, if you don't Long Rest often. It's low in the queue, & only triggers after the artifact protects you from the Voice of the Absolute. If you finish the goblin camp, then leave for the mountain pass, you won't get it at all. I got a forced Long Rest at that point once that got Wyll's Mizora punishment AND Alfira's Durge scene then.
