Yeah I assumed that was the case as well. And in classic Sony fashion they likely put that scene in the trailer to fool people into thinking this movie’s gonna be relevant to the MCU like they did with Vulture in the Morbius trailers.

@@sable-king2066 Normally I’d agree with you, but for some reason this is the ONLY Sony film to be promoted on the main Marvel account. Not even Spider-Verse got that treatment. So their MIGHT (emphasis on might) be a chance it could be connected, at least in an extremely small way

I would say "slightly less dull", but certainly not bright. Sony really needs to give up on making Spider-man movies that don't star some version of Spider-man.

@@optimus_clime6267 because of Far From Home, the Spider-Man/Venom characters & the Doctor Strange characters exist in a grey area between Marvel & Sony films. So its true that normally Sony wouldn’t be able to use anything but the rogues gallery of Spider-Man (like Morbius, Vulture, Craven…etc) but everything marvel has been trying to set up with the secret wars event has made them very flexible with the studios that still have rights to some of their characters…At least “flexible” within relative Disney terms. I would definitely take the rumor with a grain of sea salt, but it does make some sense. It would explain how he could hop dimensions to catch the sliver of venom that made it to the mcu & bring it back if he had magic. His character’s name is also unlisted on the cast roster, which could be for a lot of reasons, but it would be smart if they were trying to save it as part of the plot reveal. I honestly thought he was gonna be Flash Thompson & become Agent Venom.
