All these side characters and I didn't see Hannag, Gwydian, Cork, Zaleskar, Slane, Feder, etc. And most disappointing of all is that we will never know if Bree ever got it together.
I played through Act II four times before I decided to kill Hannag, I never knew she was Sworn. Would have been interesting to see her mentioned in the ending.
00:00 Player/Companion becomes Divine 10:36 Pact with the Demons 17:35 Release the Source into the world 26:32 Lucian seals the Veil 34:03 Fane frees the Eternals Those are just the main branches, couldn't timestamp every ramification lol. I think there's at least one ending missing if you swear yourself to the God King.
With the amount of content to do it's easy not to remember them, but you run into most of them in act 2 and act 4 with the exception of Han and Windego, you meet them in the prologue.
21:31 Brayton Barnes was the true hero of our story. This guy rose to a position of power, got caught having sex with 3 lizards and a fish, then retired early with full pension pay. Truly remarkable.
Everyone is sourcerer, Fort Joy has tourists, I have top-notch ride, 150k+ gold, Emperor as my best buddy and 9/10 psycho-assassin elf in love with me. I mean best ending evur?
Yessss. The real ending that I chose was to be the divine but I wanted to see all endings so yeah when I talked to him on sacrifice ending, my heart got broken
@@DNDragonmare1 . What is the name of the spin off? I can't find info about it. Edit: I forgot to add, the Give up your source is the worst ending for me, I didn't like it, and the fact that is the "canon" ending is very disappointing, and kind of ruins an excellent game for me.
if you make a pact with the demon and then end up killing him, you can still choose between becoming divine or purging all sourcerors. the demon will instakill Dallis and Lucian once Braccus is slain. It became a very messy and crazy ending the first time i played lmao
But you kinda sacrifice Sebille and other companions at the moment of decision, although Malady then performs a miracle. It was too utilitiaristic even for me, happy with "share with everyone" choice
@@iwillnoteatzebugs I believe the ending mentions that all godwoken became like silent monks, but Malady brought all of them back. @Slapski These are her personal endings, but there's nothing stopping your character to go wandering around with her, or with Beast for example, since it says he gets back to lady vengeance.
00:43 if you save Windego's soul from the godking with swornbreaker you get a much nicer sentiment from her where she thanks you and says that she will always follow the new divine. that's what i got
I tried Fane's ending, I felt deep guilt inside me, but Almira and Tarquin reaction made it worse, so I replayed the game one more time with Ifan as my main and Sebille as my lover. And I must say I felt much better.
Yeah being the divine is actually the best long term option. Sure by sacrificing yourself, you close the void but the void is not the only threat of the world. There is damian, the demons and many others. Leaving a powerless lucian and dalis in charge of things in this volatile enviroment? Yeah no, i prefer my super genious and wise wizard in charge, thank you.
I did the give all source ending, the void was defeated but now everyone is turning on eachother. The fact that becoming divine is a better ending than that is kinda sad. Only when we have a common enemy will true unity happen, but peace unachievable.
Missed a few endings, Prince has an ending with the dragons, Fane has an ending with Eternals and sealing the God-King, Justinia has an ending where she serves the new Divine, Han has an ending where he becomes one of the greatest generals etc.
My favorite one is becoming Divine (Ifan is my main). By giving the source to all almost everyone seems unhappy with your decision. By giving up your source, feels a little pointless to me especially if... 1) your companions stepped down in your favor, it would be for nothing. 2) if you give it up while ascending instead of accepting Dalis and Lucian's offer in the first place. 3) As Ifan, I think he wouldn't give it up simply because I don't think he would trust Lucian again after the elven incident with Deathfog. 4) I was very surprised and pleased at the same time, that my elven mercenary was mentioned in the epilogue, I thought she would only disappear like if she was never there. The detail in this game was awesome, my party is formed by Ifan (protagonist), Nienna (my elven merc, and my favorite companion 😂), and the other two slots I switch through missions between my favorite origin characters; Red Prince, Lohse (romanced), and Beast.
@@MarlonZP92 . I know, even as a protagonist his journal tells you to spread the source. However, recently I have been using the party evolved size mod, and now I use two controllers to make two protagonists (Ifan and my custom elf named Nienna), of course I disconnect the second controller once the game starts to have control of both. Now I allow Nienna to ascend and become Divine, even when Ifan is still my main protagonist, precisely Ifan's canon decision was the only "thing" that bothered me when I made him Divine. But not anymore.
as an undead that killed all obstacles and persons of power that hindered/failed the people.... i spread source to all creatures so they may evolve and take their own happiness
I made the same choice as you as Ifan, for pretty much the same reasons. I thought that giving source to everyone might rip the veil open even more, it seemed like a dumb choice. Trusting Lucian was obviously out of the question for Ifan (who I play as a truely redeemed heroic figure), so trusting himself as the new Divine seemed better.
I just ended the game and I already miss the battles. Such a good combat system. I lost Beast in the Academy but was not dissapointed with my new undead rogue mercenary. Looking forward to the third game.
Something similar happened to me, I finished the game and I don't know what game to play, I feel something is lacking, I miss the battles, and I already played the game two times in a row. 😂
Divinity os 1 is pretty nice as well. The combat is similar minus the physical and magic armors and the story is weaker but It should still satisfy the no hand holding and multiple ways to tackle quests needs. If you want more divinity you could play Divine Divinity but bear in mind that it's more akin to diablo with its real time combat. The game is also pretty old (it came out in 2022) but is still a blast to play through@@radpunk5144
How my character went from a kind-hearted widow in fort joy, to killing the god she worshipped and by the end so power hungry, that she slayed Lucian and others around him to rise... I love this game...
Timestamps would be amazing! I just finished a route with a friend and took his character's ending (Lohse's bad ending with doctor). However it seems that I did not get to see the cutscene before Lady vengeance. I do not want to get spoiled for the other endings.
@@villanelle2444 to some extent yes. while there are variations here and there certain things don't cary the weight they should. the romances for example. post boss fight you get very few options who what you say and the conversation. You spend all this time all these quests to resolve thier issuse and fall in love but when all is said and done you never end up staying with them. romance sebille even if she says love conquer even the divine she ends up a wanderer a simple text option would be all thats needed same with loshe a simple tweek and there you go all your effort in doing what you did for them and you end up with them in the post game
@@1nn3r3V1L I think part of that is cuz the story is restricted simultaneously by canon AND the ludicrous number of endings and paths. The more choices you have, the less meaningful each one becomes because certain story beats have to be hit.
And as for Fane: Malady, Almira, and Tarquin joined together and gave Fane a true blessing; they gave him flesh. And as a first course of desire he sought to caress the love of his life for the first time, Sebille. They lived an exceptionally happy life, had 5 children. Occasionally, in their quaint log home out in the forest, Fane would tell stories of an undead man who saved the world sacrificing himself for the safety of others. Eventually Fane dies after having lived at once a happy life. Sebille went on as a ancient tree planted over Fane's grave where their bodies and souls could be forever entwined. Their children visited frequently.
Ally with Dallis, at the end you choose to backstab her or not anyway, but she will help you during Rex fight, I didnt have to do anything Lucian and Dallis just rekt Rex
She probably want you to help her with the daemon stuff. She likes the power, but not the daemon. IDK.. I hope she comes back for the next game. She was my favourite character.
@@stygn Considering the demons pushed the God King to the depths of the void.. You might believe the fact that she made a deal with a demon much, much stronger than the God King. Funny. The "Source" tech the original world had was so much more behind demonic power, lol. We didn't really need to even sacrifice our Source or give it to everyone, all we had to do was leash/trick it into a blood pact favorable to us the demonic entity and throw it into the void to torment the God King for all eternity. So yeah, the demons are still the end-game faction. The Fane ending can't possibly be cannon, the demons would never allow their realm to be overtaken by the eternals this easily, they wouldn't give up their power, and you've noticed from the ending what an asswhooping they gave the eternals.
It really annoys me when games have loose ends, because those loose ends have the probability of being addressed in 10 years or even never. Just look at the Dragon Age games.
Narrator: "Are you proud of all you've achieved, or are you ashamed of your sins?" Mental autocomplete: "Leave a comment down below. And don't forget to subscribe."
Wat, I got none of the ending slides about elves, dwarves, Fort Joy or anything. Just "you chose an option and this happened", then I restarted on the boat.
That wasn't exactly all the endings considering the one I had was not in there. But then again, this game does have like 100 different endings depending on the 100s of side quest and random things you can do.
I prefer the become Divine ending. Sure the Void-woken still exist but honestly that is a better ending to me than the purge all source ending. No world knows unending peace forever. Plus Lucian does not deserve to get away with all of his atrocities and be worshipped. There is no justice for the people that he tortured and murdered. I read that the purge all source is considered canon but I'm just gonna headcanon that it isn't lol Edit: Plus as someone else on a another video pointed out, if Lucian closes the veil and purges all source what happens to everyone's souls? Souls are made of source aren't they? What happens to the Hall of Echoes? How and why does it still exist and how can souls travel there if souls no longer exist?
I also vastly prefer the “Divine” ending and I was very surprised to see that many people didn’t, from what I gathered the “shared source” ending is the most popular for whatever reason. As for the supposed canon ending, I strongly believe that games like this simply shouldn’t have canon endings. Oh well not like I’m going to let it detract from my enjoyment of the game, but seriously why is it that whenever a multi ending game goes with a canon they almost always pick one of the more underwhelming ones?
So in the end the God King isn't gone for good and the Void is still a threat. I'm guessing Larian's next game will be like the other Divinity games like Eco Draconis/Dragon Knight Saga.
I ended up becoming the divine because I was worried about sahellia flat out saying she was gonna kill all the other races, ifan left my character because of this but oh well :')
as an undead that killed all obstacles and persons of power that hindered/failed the people.... i spread source to all creatures so they may evolve and take their own happiness
Exactly people complained about these but I did love the way they let you interpret your own custom character ending, We'll just have to pray for a better ending to be included in bg3
After everything Dallis did and given how sadistic she's been, it really sucks that the game refuses to let us end her (and maybe Lucian too) once and for all, AND purge all Source from Rivellon at the same time.
Whenever I try to do the Fane divine ending it makes me enslave everyone and let the eternals return. I know there's a way around this, because I saw it in a video where it was just the regular divine ending. I have no clue how to do it though.
I have that too but why would I use swornbreaker on myself when I did not pact with a God King? Voidwoken always said join us but I did not. But sill the enslaved enging :(
I got this ending in a very particular fashion, basically my main was Ifan and he’s been killed by the doctor for refusing to honor the pact, so Fane took over as main and got to choose the endings, and he became the divine, he got the regular divine ending. Though I suspect that the game considers Fane like a random character because he was not my main originally, I hardly think they thought about this particular course of action
It's a known bug. If you talk to the little voidwoken who tells Fane to liberate the Eternals without submitting to the God-King, you get the God-King ending regardless of your choices. Avoid her to avoid the bug.
Well, you're just kicking the can down the road: the veil isn't sealed so the voidwoken will return, it's only a matter of time. Also, now there aren't gods to fight the God-King and make godwoken, no Divine to unite the mortal races to victory, many sourcerers are dead and their source getting harvested by the God-King, and the Divine Order is severely weakened by all the infighting. It's just irresponsible: shirking the weight of dealing with the real problems once and for all because you don't want to bear the choice.
Is anyone else bugged after the final fight? Beast and Fane want to kill me but I can't hurt them. This is really game breaking because now I can't finish the game for real
they should have postponed this game another few months to fix alot of these bugs and improve that shit town arx's quests , though I loved the story of the game
to be honest is releasing source for everyone is not that bad...like "ohhhh people are using source skill for war uhhh i am so scared....wait....what do you mean every single normal ability is ten times more effective in battles? even the 2 AP ones?"
Agree to sacrifice your source and Braccus will be all like "surprise I'm not actually enslaved harharhar" and you can either tell him to shut up or tell him that the God King will never let him rule with a persuasion skill of 6. Then he asks you what you've done that proves that you can totally kick his ass and depending on what you've accomplished I guess you can just convince him that this whole thing isn't worth the asswhoopping he'd receive. (I failed, I passed the check but I guess none of my claims to fame were impressive enough)
Oh I always assumed no matter what you said the fight would go into the 2nd phase. Do you have any idea of what you need to say to get him to back down?
Damashi The Kaotic I really have no idea, I tried to tell him that I was the One and that didn’t do the trick. There has to be some way to intimidate him, otherwise why would they put that persuasion check in?
I guess you get to be immortal when you become the divine but once that's done you can't replay the game anymore. unless a new dlc will continue where we left off. as for the demon part I have no idea I didn't play to that route.
Just finished the game playing as Fane and releasing the source to the world. Massively confused, though, about one thing. From my party, Red Prince and Sebille supported me, but Ifan claimed divinity and i gave him. But i thought there were no divine???
All in all, closing the hole in the Veil leads to the best overall results. No more Source, no more Voidwoken (and goodbye to the Eternals, but it was either them or mortals, and the God King has no mercy), the main characters restored even after sacrificing, and everyone is free and thriving (except Malady). In the end, Lucian wasn't that bad, but Dallis definitely deserved torture for all her idiocy and arrogance, instead she gets to be the "cool gal", in this ending. But all other endings are more disappointing. Not a single one is truly satisfying. Apart from the endings themselves, however, I must say I'm quite disappointed with the game in general. It grew exponentially boring. Combat had a single mechanic (hit their armor, then stunlock them, and bye bye); tons of status effects, and all thrown at you at once till you didn't bother keeping track of them anymore... while simultaneously they only worked when armors were down, which made 90% of them perfectly useless, since you only really needed the stun ones. Exploration kept being the same. World interaction was extremely lower and less fun than it promised to be (basically, loot things, pull levers, disarm traps, and little more). Characters lacked charisma, with maybe the exception of Malady and Tarquin (even Dallis is pretty "meh", she's only good at being arrogant). And crafting was totally, absolutely useless beyond making a couple things here and there. Forget using it for the best pieces of equipment, the stuff you craft is worse than the stuff you found ten levels ago. I hate to say it, but while in the beginning I was really looking forward to playing this game, doing it really tired me. It was almost fatiguing to finish it, I'm glad to move away.
I think in reality, the best ending might not be the canonical ending for the universe of Divinity. Source has given the world a sense of mysticism and power. That made specific people interesting but also a target. Purging the World of Source does bring eternal peace but takes away that sense of interesting power in Rivellon. In the end; I want to believe Fane's ending is the canonical ending. By having the God King, the true antagonist return to Rivellon; it opens doors for another sequel and allow us to truly fight back the Eternal God King and bring peace back to Rivellon. The Voidwoken killed out gods, enslaved our people, and took the world back which was never stolen from them. Rather than seeking harmony in the realm; they betrayed us. If you let Fane become Divine, he enslaves the world. His true desire is to save the Eternals from their damnation. They really didn't deserve it but the desire to murder and feast upon the mortals of Rivellon leaves an interesting prospect. D:OS2 gave us a new villain and it would be lackluster to not let us fight the god king.
It's the best ending only if you consider D:OS2 as the sole game in the series. But Lucian became the Divine in order to defeat a powerful Demon Lord, and Demon Lords are not weakened by this. Additionally, Damian (who will return) is even more powerful than any Demon and grows powerful with time. So basically, it leads to best short-term results, but you becoming a Divine means that Damian will have harder time when he returns after events of Beyond Divinity (instead of him having to face the Fake Divine Lucian, like in the canon). Of course, your character may not know this, but he should know that the God-King is not the sole threat in the world. In any case, they are all unsatisfying if you desire a Shitty Happy Ending. Here, you have to decide what you think is the best future, and what is the most acceptable sacrifice.
For now the game is over but games like this usually get dlc that continue after the end of the story. I personally am going to hope that is the case here
for sure if there's a new DLC I'll gladly get it. the first game was really kinda boring to me but when I tried this one I really enjoyed it. I'll gladly spend money on larian studios now.
This is stupid, if you choose the good ending, everyone else benefits but your main character suffers and become a Silent Monk until Malady restore your spirit ages later. While Lucian and Dallies that have killed so many people live on as the most revered beings in the world. And if you are selfish and choose divinity the war goes on and many more will die. Mass Effect 3 all over again
yeah but you have to put faith in ppl who did terrible things and they dont even deny they did terrible things thats what makes the choice really stupid lol
i just finished the game for the first time. and the ending was abit disapointing. i wish it would somehow unlock all the map areas to return or something. else than just lay on a ship.
I mean, I agree the ending feels kind of disappointing but ..For...what purpose would you want to open the other areas again? There is nothing else to do.
What I don't get is the 20:04 bit, about the dwarven joke. Is the "again" reference to the fact that we stopped the Deathfog? But then why is it not mentioned in all the endings?
There was a part about a black ring priestess being called out by Damien, but i never met this so called black ring priestess in my playthrough, who is it?
Radeka I think her name is spelt. She's in a cave near the gargoyle maze in the hollow marshes after you escape fort joy. (before getting on Lady Vengence for the first time) ps I think her kiss is bugged. ;p
The game doesn't end for me. After I beat Dallis, Lucian, Kraken Braccus, Kemm Sallow man I (Beast) have to fight Fane to be divine, but after I kill him nothing happens. There is nowhere to go, Its a platform with 2 portals connected to each other,. I cant travel anywhere . Im in fighing mode on that platform and cant talk or interact with my 2 remaining members. I try google it but no result. Am I missing something,? Bug?Help!
It's a bug that happens when you reload during the final battle. Reload during the dialogue with Lucian and Dallis and redo the fight to restore the triggers.
How do you get to the 9:02 minute finale? it does not appear to me. it only says that ifan has become divine and nothing else, without the initial image
Erm well somehow in tactician mode I killed two of them and by then Lucian and a white magister had killed braccus rex kraken died and the fight ended wtf :O ? Oh and then sebile suddenly said she wanted Divinity and decided a fight between three of us Vs her would be clever even though she was my lover (as fane)... Killed her almost in one round ....Again wtf!? And I expected a really tough fight :( ...
I really, really disliked how if you choose to take divinity and he asks all those questions and he just says "Only you know" bro wtf .. 30hrs sunk into a playthrough and that's the answer.. I thought I messed up Ifan's main quest or something and had to come to youtube to find out. Nope, just the only shitty writing in this entire game.
@@PyroBlastOne . I don't like the Witcher and I love DOS2, that said, I don't even know the endings of The Witcher. Yet, I agree, the endings in DOS2 are very lame.
@@SeventhheavenDK thats all Fine and dandy. But saying „dos 2 ending sucks, witcher endings are better“ Idk what exact relevance witcher has in there. Its whataboutism.
Did none of you ever accedentally f*ck up Arx by releasing the deathfog? Because we did. Also, meteor shower for the win to nuke Braccus before he can even start the second phase of the final bossfight. Way easier that way. xD
The best ending is supprting King Lusin lie, but you beat him after the fact. The companions ending is somewhat hollow. Losha and Ifan ending were awesome, but the rest is whatever. The Red Prince kingdom isn't all that big if you played the older games. Fane ending is waste of time BS. The other is nonexistent.
I believe 5 with variations on what occurs in the 'where are they now' slides. Except for God king's ending. That one pretty much doesn't give a shit what you did all game.
Not at all, Lucian and Dallis should never get away with how they treated the sourcerers. It was vile and plain evil. I realy don't get why Larian decided to make this the "good" ending. Giving up your source, ok, but not for these two monsters.
@@fredericsrhetorics6114 Agreed, this was like ending WW2 and siding with Hitler after he explains that the genocide and the concentration camps were for a good cause.
@@fredericsrhetorics6114 . Not only that, it isn't that "good" at all. Eco Draconis follows that ending, and in the end the people of Rivellon are not a match for Damian's forces, he wins, Lucian loses because he has always been useless, he has to be saved by the protagonist, but so far, Damian is still winning because there was never a sequel. So people without source means...weak people to fight the forces of Nemesis.
Ugh. I had to uninstall the game because I couldn't beat Braccus Rex and his superworm who can pit out enemies I've literally absorbed. At least this video brings a bit of closure to my regrets.
you need to talk to that necromancer in the boat before you take the last story quest. if you really can't remember the quest I believe it starts on the second map at the cemetery.
What? Didn't you listen to the dialogue from Tarquin when he told you about Anathema? "It's the only weapon that can defeat Braccus Rex for good" and it's blatantly pointed out that Vredeman is Braccus Rex...
I got good Dalis ending as Fane surednering my source and sealing the Source pool(or what ever it's called) Btw Dalis is Fanes lost daughter(Only 2 of them as etherals escaped when their race fell into the void)
Actually, 3 or 4 of them escaped *NOTE: SPOILERS AHEAD*. Fane, his daughter, the 1 you can release from a tomb in blackpits (Aetera I believe), and possibly his wife (dont remeber for sure but thought I remebered it saying that him and his family were all locked up for what he did).
None of the endings were really good, imo. It's like they tried so hard to make them ambiguous and "morally gray" that they forgot some people just want a satisfying, happy ending. When you think about it, the "best" ending is practically the same as if you'd done nothing at all and just let Lucian and Dallis carry out their plan. Not to mention you have to let those murdering maniacs live and even be rewarded. A big disappointment.
they didnt learn from divinity original sin 1 ,just like first game last act was full of dumb shit hidden switches and stuff that you just wanna say "fuck this just let me finish and watch the ending " this is why I forgot all about divinity original 1 but still I say divinity original sin 2 improved at least story wise
Couldn't agree more. Uninspired and boring quests (and not even that many of them), the "final challenges" were two lame puzzles. The final fight was cool until I realised it truly was the final fight, I had thought it was the penultimate fight with the final being against the God King but no, let's fight Braccus Rex for the second time. The worst thing was that I couldn't even res my dead party members and see what they all had to say in the epilogue.
