But neither the Old Testament nor the New Testament proclaim that a person should not defend themselves from violence nor that a nation should not defend it's sovereignty from violent aggression. It is good to mourn for all of the victims of war just as it is good to avoid war. But if others are determined to bring violence or war to you, you have the right under God to defend yourself.
