They did terrible in the first half, then in the latter JPM (he basically carried the team by himself) started to pick up as the car got better but it wasn't enough. Fun fact: Of the three last Williams wins, two were from JPM, Germany 2003 and Brazil 2004, so just keep that in mind
Nice! To think that most of the 2004 grid still exists today! It’s 1)Scuderia Ferrari-Marlboro vs. Scuderia Ferrari 2)Williams BMW vs Williams-Martini Mercedes 3)West McLaren Mercedes vs. McLaren Renault 4) (Enstone) Renault-Mild Seven vs. Renault Sport 5) (Brackley) Lucky Strike-BAR Honda vs. Mercedes Petronas Motorsport 6) Sauber-Petronas vs. Alfa Romeo-Sauber 7) (Odd ones) Panasonic Toyota Racing vs. Haas Automation 8)(Milton Keynes) Jaguar Racing vs. Aston Martin-Red Bull Racing 9) (Faenza) Minardi vs. Scuderia Toro Rosso 10) (Silverstone) Benson & Hedges-Jordan vs. SAHARA Force India 🤩
After 10:17 Steward1:Who should we put a warning? Steward2:Idk? Maybe Alonso? Steward1:Which Alonso? Steward3 (newbie):How bout if we give the 2 Alonsos a warning? Steward1 and 2:Yeah! *later* Radio:Alonso, you have collided with Alonso2 Alonso:I collided myself? That's impossible?!
Neat to see theor relative strengths and weaknesses. Lots of straight line speed with the V10 cars, but the new cars male up for it with more grip and more aero. And HOLY SHIT remember when F1 cars didn't have 4x4 rear axle clearance?? Really makes ya nostalgic for those liveries, those teams, those sounds...
A few days ago I saw an comment saying “I cannot hear anything after that V10 f1 sound” but I didn’t believe but actually now I cannot hear anything from the V6
0:04. Start Race My favorite part was: 2:00. Fernando Alonso Renault 2004 onboard 2:26. Oliver Panis Toyota 2004 onboard 3:30. Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull 2018 onboard 4:08. Too expensive. Of the existing teams; Williams are barely hanging on, they really on drivers to bring them money; Force India was just saved from going in to administration and Sauber have been battling for a few years now.
One thing I'm wondering about, though - if the 2017 (and newer)/current Formula 1 cars are designed for to have much higher downforce then why do they have such high rear ground clearance compared to the old(er) ones? E. g. this one: www.mercedesamgf1.com/en/car/f1-w10-eq-power/_jcr_content/root/slider_0/sliderchilditems/slideritem_0/image/MQ7-0-image-20191104195545/00main4252-1.jpeg
Yeah, this is pretty faked out. Well, these are mods after all, I can see that BMW or any F1 from 2004 getting passed on the long turns but no way in hell the 2018 cars will overtake them in the straights, in the main straight those cars could reach speeds of 365kph without even drafting, 2018 cars can barely pass 340 with DRS. 2018 cars have greater reliability and downforce, 2004 cars had pure raw power and lightweight. The main differences is that 2018 use slicks AND have DRS technology. A 2004 car with it's rear wing open(aka DRS) would likely have reached 375kph on the monza main straight, again with no drafting, and with slicks would have gain easily an extra 1 to 1.5 second in most tracks, maybe even 2secs or more in tracks like Suzuka and Spa.
No need for KERS, TIRES would probably be enough to RIVAL(won't say surpass because I don't believe so), DRS would be overkill in the straights and would probably MAKE the F2004 the fastest.
watching this made me realise in what kind of high tech age were in with the movable rear wings. since todays cars are faster* im beginning to care less about the 04 cars. theyre starting to become loud relics of the past. lets embrace the high tech slick future
