Bandana is a better Piñata, you can't change my mind. Better songs better pacing and Freddie sounds way more passionate. The only thing I'll give to Piñata is that it sounds more like a movie.
@@raer5373madlib went fucking crazy on piñata, it's some of the best work of his career. it felt like madlib was the main event and freddy was doing what he does over some of the best instrumentals in hiphop history. i'm not a huge fan of bandana, madlib lacks the presence i expect him to have and none of the songs on there are better than Deeper, High, Thuggin, Broken, or Shame. Alfredo > Bandana.
This is the thing about Freddie. He's dope but he's a production merchant. When he raps over trap beats, his music don't hit for me but his work with Madlib and Al are masterpieces. I feel he should work with them or producers like them for the rest of his career cuz they complement him well
When he raps on trap beats like BFK, Forever and a day, Pronto, Dark Hearted those kind of songs hit hard. He's the best on old school beats but he has good songs with trap beats too
Funny enough, his best work is actually his 2 classic 2009 mixtapes Miseducation of Gibbs and Midwestgangstaboxframecadillac. He was spitting rapid fire on those.
