For every person that thumbs down this video I hope you get twice as many blessings as everybody that thumbs up the video just because I want good things to happen to you twice as much so you stop being so negative to everybody else in the world, I got haters but that means I'm doing something right
I was able to complete this on my 16 mustang gt after replacing my battery. Do I still need to let the car sit over night with the doors locked for at least 8 hours while the system learns itself again or can I just do the reset and drive?
Man, I went out to my f150 this morning and the battery was dead. I left the parking lights on overnight. Jumped it with the wife’s car and so many dash lights came on saying all these systems need service. Oh man! I found one of your other videos explaining how to reset it. It worked. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with the world. Bless you. And I’m glad your kitty is feeling better!
Currently sitting here with a charger on my Ranger. Had an appointment today to get the "certified technicians " to replace mine. Once i get it started I'm heading to the parts store to do it myself. Thanks for the information, wish I'd have looked it up days ago.
Hey Rich, thank you tons. Put the new AGM battery in my 2018 f150 and never knew to do this. Been a few months since it was put in. These little videos are gold mines for us thank you yet again 💛
Thank you so much..been trying to reset my explorer 2011 with no push button and no screen dashboard and I couldn't find a video..this is the best and simplest vid...thank you 👍
On top of that you really don't even need to do any of this to be honest with you all you need to do is just let the vehicle sit for 8 hours and it will reset on its own
Have a 13 Focus for the past year that powers off radio for "Battery Saver" after about 2 minutes of shutting off. This fixed it. Thank you sir!!! Previous owner must have replaced battery and not reset BMS. I ligit thought BMS might be going bad.
Thank you so much!!! Especially for adding the note about the service light will flash for older vehicles 😊- This was so much appreciated! I thanked Jehovah God that I found this simple but very helpful video👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
This is a legit video, i am a driver here in the philippines, and i'll try this to my employer car at everest 2023 because i'll drain the car battery when open the accesosries when the car engine is off,, and i'll use in the morning and then after i'll off the car, i'll try to start again the car is not start,, bat when i try this video l, the car is starting again,,
Thanks for the tip! Does this work on a 2014 F150? My dad just replaced his battery the other day and I was considering sending him my scan tool so he could reset the BMS. This is much simpler!!
If it's a Ford just like the title says ALL Fords ..... then yes it does I hate to be that guy but somebody's got to be that guy that's specifically why I titled this video This Way
@@FordBossMe I’m sorry to have gotten off on the wrong foot here. Not all Fords have BMS, so the “all Fords” title kind of lumps it with others on YT who state things like “this works on all X” but in reality it doesn’t…I really don’t want to lump you in with those guys (nor do I feel it’s appropriate), since your vids I’ve seen so far have been spot on. I didn’t think it would hurt to ask for clarification, especially being that I’m not a Ford specific tech. I appreciate you for putting up your videos to help others and I hope the rest of your day goes well.
So, we had to jump our '21 Edge, they said it was due to the VERY low temps that few weeks in winter, apparently they had quite a few calls on the same issue. Then had to take it in to Ford to reset I guess the battery, will this work for that as well? Driving into town wasting an hour of gas isn't my idea of a great time. If it works for that super! if not, well then it's not a waste.
THANK YOU! Now, when do I replace the auxiliary battery in rear on 2021 Explorer Limited? Some sites say they should last 5 to 8 years....true or false
Thank you @FordBossMe. Will this work with older model, Ford Edge 2009. Removed the battery during PMS. Once I put battery back, I could feel transmission is not engaging well. Mechanic told me it will take at least 10 days to reset. Your thoughts please. Thanks buddy.
@@FordBossMe It's amazing you take the time to reply to followers, thank you. Would you be too kind to assess why my car would shudder between 1500-2000rpm while perform smooth before and beyond that? I have brandnew sparkplugs and clean fuel injectors.
This fixed my 2014 Explorer Interceptor. The battery was changed, but they never reset the BMS. Therefore, it wasn’t allowing the alternator to charge the battery up properly like it should. It was causing my engine to die out after 10 minutes of being disconnected.
God bless u man it helps really I have other problem with my ford explorer 2013 V6 after l finish my trip so I close the Engin and just make the switch on it show low oil pressure I change oil sensor and I everything is okay and during drive or trip its not comes so if u have advice I will be thankful
So during your trip if the vehicle is moving it says the oil pressure is good but whenever you come to a stop and you are in park the oil pressure is bad?
I have a 2015 Taurus SHO and when doing a BMS there was no battery light but when accessory mode was active it flashed after doing the high beams 5 times and pressing the brake pedal 3 times.... worked great
@@aphil527 the taurus is kind of a weird one where it won't actually flash the battery light but the check engine light instead. Whereas on say an f 150 or fusion it'll flash the actual battery light. I had to reset mine cause I had an agm battery that was about 2 years old and my battery tester said it needed to be replaced, the BMS thought it had a 10 year old battery in it even though it had 3 battery replacements in those 10 years but the system wasn't reset
Boss....I appreciate that. 2016 f-juan50, 2.7 twin turdbowl. Swapped battery, did what you said. Presto. That's the kinda help that keeps america great again.
Does this reset ECU? Just had to replace completely dead battery and mechanic said I need to drive 2016 Fusion Hybrid 100 miles before I can get state inspection??!
Would this work on a 2002 7.3 PSD? I’ve never had an issue yet. I switched over all my wiring to large gauge welding wire and rotate my batteries every 6 months to help ensure the longevity and health of my batteries.
My 2014 focus stopped being able to be remote started, it turns on for about 15 sec then shuts down. Any solutions you know of other than replacing the key fob batteries (I've already done that)
I have a 2015 f150 5.0 coyote I'm changing my battery type from a flooded led to a fiberglass Matt do I need to do anything since they do charge differently that I know but is there anything else I need to do or will it learn it itself
Or if you're sure that you have a battery monitor system all you have to do is change the battery and leave the vehicle off for at least 8 hours and it will reset on its own
Could it not charge if you don’t have that done? Says the trucks battery would die. Only happened about 2 times but this was after the new battery installation. Will this help that?
I've got the stupid camera problem, too. I hate it. My understanding is that it typically has to deal with corroded wiring in the harness for the camera under the lift gate. No way a vehicle should have issues like this after only a few years old.
I could have swore the code to reset was up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, A, B, Start. I must be getting it confused with somthing else. Thanks!
So my battery has been changed. And there is no light. But the ford 2013 explorer seems to not start on first try. Can this still work u think. Im thinking there is a System reset ??
Riddle me this batman. Why does the system fault after I've used the app to start the car, but it will be fine for months when not being used. Just used app twice since it's been cold. Didn't have keys on me to auto start the explorer. Checked vaultage on battery with load tester and alt output. Seems like a system fault for the satellite system. Either it pulls a lot of juice to connect and then faults system. Or does it have a battery backup amd this is what's triggering fault?
I have a 2020 ford escape sel and they changed my AC compressor now all the lights on my dashboard wont stop going off, ford told me I’m. I longer in warranty 😭 and ford is charging me 200+ an hour to just look at it when I already took it somewhere and they told me I need to do a reset, I tried this and didn’t work, any suggestions please help me 🙈😞😞😞🙈🙈🙈🙈
@@lixdy2872 low voltage was causing rough idle, check engine light, transmission fault codes, slow start up. I put the right battery in now it runs great
brother i have ford fiesta mk6 1.4 tdci my problem is that whenever i start the car battery warning light comes on the dash but if i fully press the throttle all the way to 5k rpm it starts charging and light goes offf , plz help me to solve this issue . this problem started when i removed the battery
I have a 2012 Ford Mustang, and I just replaced the battery. I ran this procedure and got the flashing check engine light. However, I subsequently learned that the 2012 Mustang doesn't have a BMS. So, does anyone know what the flashing light is trying to tell me even though no BMS is present? To be clear, I'm only getting the flashing check engine light after running this procedure, not any other time. Thanks.
No I don't know what that means only it has the battery monitor sensor if you look at the negative cable of the battery and you see a sensor on the cable that you have a BMS system but a 2012 wouldn't have that
Just did the transmission in a 2020 explorer and my scan tool wouldnt give me the option to rest the bms. Wish i would have see this a couple days ago.
How about a 2011 ford fusion sport 3.5 v6?, had the alternator changed and a new battery just before and now about a week later the head lights were getting so dim thought they were going to shut off
Also if you have a battery monitor system on your Ford all you have to do is just install the new battery lock the doors at night and then don't come back out to the car for like 8 hours and it will reset on its own you don't even need to do any of the reset procedures
I got my battery replaced today and my ac isn’t working anymore. I’ve tried this and climate control reset and it’s still not working 😢 any other suggestions?
They're going to have to go in and probably reset the computer maybe even reprogram the computer I don't know or unhook the battery and hook it back up again
Question. I had this low power battery saver warning on my radio screen in my 2012 ford edge and replaced the battery because it wouldn’t charge or it would drop to low to start the car. After replacing with a new battery it was fine for about 6-8 months and I got the warning again so I followed the steps to reset it with high no beams/brakes etc. it worked until about 6 months later and now it is back. Car is starting fine etc but I get the warning every time I drive and it stays on the screen on radio unless I actually pull the key out and not just shut the car off. I know that sounds dumb but if i remember right the first time before I changed the battery it did this the warning would go away after just turning the car off like when parking but now it stays lit up on the radio screen unless I pull the key and open a door. I’m going to try to reset the warning again with the steps but I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts as to the reoccurring issue? I can get my alternator checked but I think after a year if it was bad it would have gone by now? I’m hoping it’s not the battery computer /system where it’ll be thousands to fix so thought I’d check here before I go to fire and get raped of my savings lol thanks!
I have not had it checked my self but I think my mechanic who replaced the battery last year did because I remember him saying the old battery was not holding a charge and was the original battery from 2011 but he may have just known that from testing the old battery?
Thanks so much for the question ! I’m hoping just another reset will suffice for another year or so lol but would like to know if it’s a terminal situation that’s going to cost a ton of money net down the road . It’s odd too as I don’t get any check engine/code just the battery saver warning on the radio screen
No, I'm not sure where people are getting the hold brake pedal thing... a couple people have said that to me so far and I'm like guys I never told you to hold the brake pedal I literally said Flash the brights five times and press the brake pedal three times I didn't say anything about holding it
@FordBossMe . The reason for my question is because the last battery I changed out 6 years ago, I had to do something similar to this procedure but I'm not remembering what that was. Thanks for your response though.
Hey bro I installed a new taillight with a new blind spot module that came with it. It now shows blind stop error and and cross traffic fault. The system doesn’t work on that side. How do I fix?
Hello, good morning, I am a follower of your channel and I am contacting you, to be able to comment on the following situation that occurs in my vehicle, Ford mondeo mk2 2.5 v6, one morning the battery was discharged, without knowing how to change the battery, when month or so, the car stopped in full operation, it was as if the electricity had died, stop, giving it and giving it until it started, again as if the battery was without charge, it was only a month old, I changed the alternator regulator , and well, I bought it, it charges over 14.5V, and I considered the fault finished, one day cleaning the interior, I left the radio on, while I cleaned, and nothing a few minutes later, the voltage began to drop, less to less, until the battery was discharged at that moment, I was surprised because that had never happened to him, I did another test, with the battery charged again, I gave the contact, after a short time, equal to less to less , that in a moment the battery goes away, I recharge it, install it, and leave it and connected approximately 2 months, until I realized that the red light of the alarm did not blink, I checked it and discharged, that did not happen in the past either, it carried out the current leakage test with the multimeter, because I told myself that this would have to be a current leak, it is the logical thing to think, and what was my surprise, that the value it gave is 0.02 amps, with the battery just charged, so there is no current leak, I have also performed the voltage drop test and it gives 000v both positive and negative, and then what happens to it? I don't even know what else to do, regarding what I am explaining to you, I await your prompt clarification, please, greetings.
It seems to me like you have some kind of draw going on to be honest with you You're going to have to set the system up for an amp draw test and you're going to have to really leave it on there continuing to monitor it over some extensive time and then if an amp draw shows up you're going to have to start pulling fuses and relays to see what is causing the draw
You don't have a battery monitor system in 2006 brother if you listen to my videos where I talk about this stuff they only vehicles that have a battery monitor system or typically from 2015-2016 and up and you have to have a electrical connector on the negative cable on the battery not just the connection for the battery itself but an electrical connector attached to it and you do not have that
@@FordBossMe yea but I don’t know if it’s a bad thing or not when it’s in accessory mode to see the battery & engine light. Both go away when I start it
my dashboard/radio are pitch black and doesn’t work at all neither lights up. The gear shift doesn’t work either idk what todo. I bought a new battery and everything still nothing works! Key fob has a new battery as well I hit a speed bump and now my car isn’t working.
What type of vehicle do you have something is loose somewhere so you're going to have to check the connections at all of your modules so go online and do a search for your powertrain control module and your body control module and start checking all the connections that go to those modules and then once you're done with that you're going to have to start checking battery connections and ground connections on the random places throughout the body but first of all tell me what vehicle you have here's my email Poissorichard.rp@gmail.com
Hello got a 2015 Ford f150when I turn my truck on the radio says saving to battery and also when leave radio on when truck is turned off radio shuts off after 5minutes and the switch is on help please.
Because you're not doing it right Everybody else is doing it just fine not what I have noticed is people don't follow directions and when they do the brake pedal three times they'll continue to hold the brake pedal and I did not say to do that I clearly said turn the key on don't start the vehicle Flash the brights five times and then hit the brake pedal three times and either the battery light will flash or the check engine light will Flash but I never said anything on the third time continue holding the break and I've had a few people do that and tell me that I was incorrect on the procedure and I say send me a video and then they send me the video and I said I didn't tell you to continue to hold a break I say hit it three times

I had the same issue. Then I turned the automatic headlights to OFF. Then flashed the headlights 5 times brake pedal 3 times. Then the battery light flashed & fixed the battery light.
@@pureblood2020 Sweet, that probably was my issue because I leave mine on auto 🤦🏾♂️ lol I've gotten a OBD ready that has BMS built in it. But hopefully your reply will help someone else. Thanks for replying 👍🏾👍🏾💥💥💯
@@FordBossMe so should I just check the bulb, fuse, and relay? Passenger side works great! But When I left signal, only My driver side front flashes and works but the rear signaling and brake taillights don't come on or flash...
