Frankly, the vast majority of fae in real life legend are explicitly _not_ cutesy or truly beautiful at all, Fauns being the first that come to my mind as they're often (unintentionally) misrepresented as dainty-ish deer/goat folk when in reality most classic depictions just show them as hairy, nude, and oftentimes _perpetually horny_ men that just _happen_ to be fae.

keep in mind that orcs and goblins are fairies too

@@submariNervous yeah people believe fae to be light, cute, and beautiful, and sure, the seelie court may seem that way, but the unseelie court isnt. And that's only speaking of gaelic folklore, there are many other fae/mythos/folklore that definitely aren't kid friendly or cutesy. And all fae are dangerous regardless, even if they do look cute.

@@Cheshieruu A lot of people don't know that Tinkerbell tried to _drown_ Wendy in the original books (and while Disney did its level best to gloss over that kind of stuff so she could be the cutesy mascot for the film, you can still see a _bit_ of her OG nature shining through the Disney veneer throughout.)

I meant when they added the type friend. Like how Magnemite did. Also it’s a Weedle, a good typing doesn’t make up for bad stats. Beedrill has a base stat total of 395 and it is a 2nd stage evolution… yikes.

They're called snow leopards because they share similar features with leopards. They aren't literally leopards, they just look like them; this is a common way of naming stuff, many animals are named after other animals they look similar to

@B0rK isn’t that the point of regional variants? I don’t think fairy type weezing was something that made sense before galar.

@B0rK I mean, someone could easily turn houndoom’s bones into lightning bolts and make it pink or something. Maybe it would have adapted to it’s environment by creating an electric “barrier” around it, which it uses to shock Pokémon who try to touch it. Maybe the fairy type would be because the people of the region believe it to be a myth, and it has been for generations because it’s so rare.

One hundred percent this. I also find a problem with most ghost types, as they go for the "gotta show you it's really creepy and scary" angle, instead of trying to go with something more approachable, yet still somewhat sinister. And then there's the problem some people seem to have with overdesigning. In a lot of cases, less really can end up being more. The only Pokemon that you can say are overdesigned somewhat are Legendaries, but it makes sense because it's used to distinguish them from other Pokemon. Should have seen the red flags when I saw that there was a "Radiation type". I don't want to diss the creator, but many of these designs simply lack the overall charm that most Pokemon have, regional variants or not (which seems to be the case for most of these designs, where you can't really even tell what they're supposed to be based on at first glance.)

All theropods had some kind of plumage and fossils do point that some ceratopsians did had 'horns' that were the 'first stage' of feathers

@SardonicHarlequin Protofeathers were essentially like the shaft of the feather without the rest of it, in simple terms. They believe many different species had protofeathers, with many theropods having more developed plumage than most. The Charmander design actually reminded me of something like the Yutyrannus.

Feathers are very notably not the same thing as fur though.

Tardegrades go into tun anytime their environment becomes inhospitable for them in general, not just from dryness. They survive so much that so many other organisms can't though, so it's insane. I love water bears, they're amazing little things!

@@Missingno_Miner I love the idea of types as adjectives not nouns. Like Ghiratina or Frillish are not ghosts but they’re like ghosts. Pokemon has gotta use bug as an adjective more often

@@MicoDossun Yeah, it's the same sort of thing as not every fire type needing to literally be on fire. Bug types don't need to be literal bugs, just buglike in some way.
