My headcanon is that the GM that we see behind the GM Spartan in Fukuchi Mobile Suit Station is actually the GM Scout, a GM Command modified for ground combat in the jungle.
If you take suggestions, how make making a couple of lists for top mobile armors, one for the uc, another for the other unverses, again just a suggestion
Shiro Amada: "What mobile suit is that?" Mechanic: "Its called the GM Juggler, sir. It uses two modified remote control Ball units for supplemental firepower." Shiro Amada: "So... I can pilot a mobile suit AND two Ball units simultaneously?" Mechanic: "Well, technically yes sir, you could," Shiro Amada: *Eyes roll back, mouth foaming. Happy Ball/MS Pilot noises*
The charm of the GM lies in the fact that, despite its simple appearance, it is quite a powerful mobile suit in terms of its settings. It's interesting how it can look incredibly strong depending on how it's portrayed in the anime. I personally love plot developments where mass-produced mobile suits play a significant role.
It when UC and other AU till Seed collide into ones.... Where Kira saved Amuro from Hamon kamikaze attack and saved Ryu Jose in process And Doan pulled HYPER MODE ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6Kr6VlmWKfo.htmlsi=iwKiGwty-NePOWAU
@@jackbannon257 its the remote units. His space plane(later akatsuki with its space pack on) had 4 pods he could remotely control so he is the best natural bit users everyone else that seems to be any good with them is a full on new type or cordinator ie special people while he as far as ive seen is considered just a normal human.
I feel like most of the time he’d be on the back lines controlling the ball units from afar and only actually using the GM when someone gets close. Then he goes back to using the ball units like a fighter jet and fucking destroying units so efficiently that it gives the opponents PTSD towards the ball unit.
I would have been dead in a Ball near the beginning of the war, then my weak ass newtype conscious would have ended up in some failed Char clone named Power Bottom, or some such nonsense
That was various of aces doing that and Zeon had more experience pilots well until near the of war, how many zaku, doms, goufs, gelgoog, the gyan, big zam, and mobile armors just the gundans destroyed, there only hand full them.
UC needs more animated content of GMs doing more than explode whenever a Zaku looks at them funny. At the very least, Tenneth Jung deserves an animated spin-off where he styles on enemy aces who are all "It's just a GM! Why isn't it dying?!"
Of course Mu La Flaga would use the GM Juggler, not only does death not effect him, but neither does the multiverse. Funny enough, I could see him as one of the few pilots who could actually use it well.
Technically, any fella with enhanced spatial awareness can drive the GM Juggler... heck, you can put say, Morgan Chevalier (from the Astray mangas) or Amuro Ray (the CCA version, that is) and it will be a potent mobile suit.
And luckily for him in that G Generation Advance Rau didn't had Providence yet (since Providence and Justice not debuted yet when the game was finished developed)
true just wish they had better water suits, i girhen greed i had to hope that i get a stolen design from zeon, any one of those becomes the main underwater suit for the rest of the game into the axis endgame.
Wow, for a war that lasted only one year and for a mobile suit that was introduced only late in that war, the GM certainly had a lot of variants! Maybe they should have made it the Three Year or Five Year War!
Originally the war against zeon predicted will last longer than one year. Before amuro piloting gundam, federation still doesn't have effective mean to train their many MS pilot. Thanks to char discovered gundam test site, forcing amuro piloting gundam and whole fiasco afterwards, federation manage to obtain amuro combat data to create system assistant for their MS pilot. After zeon failed attack against jaburo, federation taking advantage zeon loss of MS forces, push forward counter offensive
Good to see The White Dingo team getting recognition. They retook Australia with nothing but GMs and pure skill. No newtypes, no gundams etc. That always makes me happy especially knowing a SRW finally introduced them and have their own combo attack. Edit; after finding the footage again, it's NOT SRW BUT, Gundam SD GGG(?). It REALLY does LOOK like an SRW game though.
As someone who loves Federation Mobile Suits, particularly GMs, I consider this a great early Christmas gift. As for which GMs I’d pilot during the OYW, I’d probably go the same route as an OC of mine went; starting off in a RGM-79 [G] GM Ground Type for the battles on Earth, before moving on to a vanilla RGM-79 GM in space, then a brief stint piloting a RGM-79GS GM Command Space Type, and finally a RGM-79SC GM Sniper Custom.
That's why I love 0083 one of the few series where the GM's fight back .I do love the GM kai and the GM cannon 2 but painted in the standard gun cannon colors is a thing of beauty.
Yeah, the 0080 GM's are my faves too, it's sad seeing them getting trashed on screen in the OVA. However, they carried the major brunt of the fighting and many of them seem to be not fully prepared (missing shields, etc) they prevented the cyclops team from accomplishing their mission and the Alex played a minor role.
I don’t think it helped that the only time we saw it on screen was 17 years after it was rolled out. Combine that with a surprise attack during peacetime, those poor guys didn’t stand a chance.
Yea, you are definitely not wrong, expesaly by that Mobile armor 😂.. and a kapool.. they did not stand a snowballs chance .. if I was one of those pilots I would have said fuck that... the fedration needed more Jeagens at the very least
A true work horse unit that in all honesty deserves as much love as the Zaku gets. There's also the engineering side of the GMs that shows just how optimized the production was that many could be made due to all the variants sharing so many parts.
My OYW Pilot would have started with the Vanilla GM, before upgrading to the GM Kai by the end of the One Year War. However, in Origin's OYW he'd probably stick with the GM shoulder cannon variant all the way through. And in Thunderbolt's OYW he'd have upgraded to the Gundam Head at the end instead of the Kai.
As much as i love the gm’s and I understand their development history was a few years before the oyw, I still think it’s insane they made so many variations in just one year
My head cannon for the number of variants. Quick search shows the total number of active military fighter craft at around 53,000. With a space mining economy I can see the Federation fielding triple that number. 2/3s would probably be the Vanilla units as the backbone. The remaining third are variants.
Great video as always mate, I have just returned from a 4 week trip to Japan first since Covid. I was able to pick up the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II - (White Dingo Team Custom) a kit i have been after for a very long time.
not really. You have a base deisgn ie form the gundam which all teh gms are based and you have people throwing unlimited funds at weapons to fight zeon. Look at weapons development during ww2 for example the ammount of odd tanks and planes throught out beside the standards like the p47 or the m4 is insane. Most never went anywhere but a whole lot of odd units got made rather fast.
It's fun seeing you use pictures of the Robot Spirits figures for some of the GMs, because I've been collecting them and this was a nice "checklist" to see which ones I'm missing (not many actually!).
As someone who lives in a pretty northern state, I would like to say Cold District, but between there being more potent options and the cold weather no longer being something that can be assumed will happen according to season, that's not happening. For what I'd actually want to pilot? Sniper 2, Striker, or Armored. They are versatile and powerful. Or if I really want to make things regret their positioning, cannon.
Commander with his Gatheroad GM, thousands of kills and is able to keep up and assist against top Aces like Char, Haman, Rau le Creuset, Milliardo Peacecraft, Master Asia, Shinn Asuka and Ribbons Almark. XD
the GM juggler is one of the funkiest looking GMs i have ever seen with my own two eyes. and i want a mastergrade of it, even a high grade i dont care i want one on my shelf
I always love a good GM custom! I feel like because Gundam's are such hyper specific units, you don't always get to see the personality of the pilot shine through (with some exceptions of course!) but GMs have such a range of options, the pilot gets to really make they're mark on it, especially Ace's.
"Which GM would you want to pilot during the one year war?!" Me:I got assigned to the gundam ground type because they want me to be a big decoy target. ;w;
I do like the GM Gatherroad from SD Gundam Battle Alliance, but I fear it's too obscure and not enough is known about it to even bring it up. Still, its simplicity in its customizations (it only has two sprayguns and modified thrusters) and the funny implication that its pilot returned from Odessa now with the knowledge of future events and events from other universes (and, presumably, nobody believing him if he tells them about it) is rather entertaining.
Some Trivia on the Night Seeker, it saw use by Yazan Gable way after the OYW, heck after the Gryps War too. I think it was actually the Night Seeker equipment on a GM-III base. This was in the Johnny Ridden manga by Ark Performance.
In my school vr game there is a veriont called GM daemon type which are a mass production version of Goalius during his restored vengeance form and in the game thses thing are used by the Valkyrie devision of the Dawn of fold and they are monsters (monsters putting it lightly as each kill gives it a temporary boost by harvesting the dead pilot soul into energy)
My Feddie Pilot would start off with a GM Ground Type, then recieve a GM Sniper II (equipped with a GM Command Beam Gun instead of the sniper rifle) once the war had moved firmly back into space for the remainder of the war.
7:58 Hold up. That top beam rifle he's holding is the rifle from the Hyaku Shiki. Are you saying the Sniper II had access to the same rifle the Hyaku Shiki would use 9 years later?
