you could still go deeper.. i.e. source being a heavily enhanced goldsrc, which was a modified quake engine, which is built off the doom engine, which is a modified wolfenstein 3D rendering system

A Vietnam mod for a WWII game. Hm. In all seriousness, this is impressively well made. It’s almost like another standalone game to go alongside DOI and Insurgency.
As Jarek pointed out,it's not a copy of an AK as there are no interchangeable parts in the two guns.It doesn't even utilize the same mechanical system like the AK.
The Mad Marxist Czechs wanted to do their own thing, so they did and made the vz. 52, which is just a vz. 58 with a different caliber. It was changed from the original caliber to M43 because Warsaw Pact requires a common caliber.
douwess dekker good call I wanted to return mine but couldn't. I played for a short time and for me personally it wasn't as fun as insurgency/day of Infamy.
Aetheos Apparently real life combat is even slower. Real soldiers and marines rarely, if ever, fire their standard rifles in full auto like we're prone to in RS:VN unless they're trained to clear rooms. Unlike us in-game, they strive to survive, are briefed on their mission, and need to be prepared to fight between 15 minutes to 15 hours without respawning. Ever. Of course the frustrating/rewarding part of the tactical fps is that moment where you "must shoot him before he shoots me."
I actually tried Rising Storm 2, and it's not bad. But I just didn't feel this game. It has good things, but I just don't want to play this a lot. And for example Insurgency is quite cool. I also not play it a lot, but I really want to return there. And when you want to play a game, that is more important than any graphics or anything. Same reason why I don't play Battlefield or Call of Duty.
20:12 this looks more like an Bren than a type 99 to me, as the gun does not have the threaded barrel of the real life type 99, it also has the charging handle on right like the Bren, the type 99 has it on the left. The fire rate is also much slower than that of the type 99.
Genuinely a cool mod. I hope they tweak the weapons a bit more, though, and that it gets the Day of Infamy treatment and is made into a stand-alone game.
Quite a cool mod...though i feel that a lot of the weapons are from the WW2 period and not many modern weapons are transpired into this mod. The selection is more like WW2 in Vietnam rather than 1970s if you know what I mean. That's the only comment I have.
How does this game compare to Rising Storm 2 Vietnam? It looks amazing, and the much wider array of weapons! But what about gore, customization, set building - does the map look lived in or is it an empty arena space?
No one seems to play it is the big problem, plus Rising storm 2 vietnam and even the Screaming Steal mod (WW1 mod in DOI) kind of overshadows this mods spotlight.
Xyrus John Sembrano the BAR has a slightly more powerful round (7.62x63mm vs 7.62x51mm). The thing that makes the biggest difference is the fact that the BAR is about 20 pounds vs the 10 pound m14. That extra 10 pounds is gonna reduce recoil significantly.

Soarvivorz I'm not sure if you figuered it by now. When you browse for servers in DOI you can select server types including the mod on the left side. You can do the same in practice mode.
Soarvivorz also you should type this in console before playing in practice mode "mp_theater_override nam" typing the same and replacing nam with default reverts it back
