Hello Mr Remillard! This one, this is the tune verion I know and learned first, so it is the one I love so that there's no room in my heart for me to really entertain the other version charitably. I'm like that with a number of different songs, but then there are some songs that can be different variations and or sung by many different people, and I enjoy them all in their way. Anyways, I reckon that's sufficient for today. Have a great day in the Lord! You and your family stay safe and warm; God bless you all!
This one is new to me, but it is nice. Diadem and Miles Lane are the two other tunes closely associated with the hymn - Miles Lane was probably the 'original' (the composer was a friend of the author apparently) but it's the least used of the three from looking around. From a singing point of view, this one seems a little trickier to me (particularly with the middle of the second line) but it's probably because I'm not very familiar with it.
I sang this in the "gem room" at the American Museum of Natural History once. Just couldn't help it as I looked at all those flashing jewels, and this is the song I thought of. ^_^
1: All hail the power of Jesus, name let Angel's prostrate Fall Bring forth the royal diadem And crown him Lord of All 2 : ye chosen seed of Israel race ye❤ ransomed from the Fall
If you are listening to this, wondering if there is a Jesus- He is real. He's complete, tender love and He wants to know you. Look for Him and you'll easily find Him
I've never actually sang Diadem or Miles Lane at church, I suppose the Anglican Church of Canada Common Praise hymnal only employs Coronation (it's my favourite anyways)
