Man I want the Bi-Colored Castanet and the Klick-Klack to make a return for that sweet sweet spanish guitar. Great showcase! Loved the appropriate changes in backgrounds depending on what horn you were playing.
Thank you! Glad you like it. I started working on a compilation of all 3rd Gen Hunting Horns but this will take some time. I love the congas and the castanets but sadly neither the Hermitaur/Ceanataur nor the Congalalas have been announced for Rise until now. I hope they made the cut.
@Plaguv Yes! Excited to see that the blue crab is back in business. But sadly the castanet is going to lose some of its original sounds due to the reworked horn. I hope they pick good ones
I never knew red khezu's horn sounded like that, I honestly just expected the same sound as the default Khezu horn, also, would not want to put my lips anywhere near a piece of khezu equipment
Don't mind me, just going through, putting thumbs up on every single vid you have while I enjoy watching them :3 Also, darn you for making me want to pick up HH... It's been enticing all along but now...
@@Aradoxas I just might do it soon. Which game's HH would you recommend I start with? (I have semi-competent savefiles on all of them, tho I'm not yet in endgame on all)
Difficult Question. I´d say pick the game you are the most familiar with because it´s more about knowing the monsters than the weapon itself. I can only speak from my experience tho. I fiddled around with the Hunting Horn for the first time in 3U. Then I went back to Freedom Unite and tried the HH there and this was a miserable experience at first. The way you have to set up the notes in FU is punishing and it´s generally recommended not to play songs during the fight except when you have a really big opening. With that said, the FU-System has grown on me over time but I wouldn´t recommend it to anyone starting out. The Hunting Horns in 3U and 4U are basically the same but 4U has a much nicer selection of horns. GU is probably your best bet if you want to experience the "old ways" of the horn. It´s very similiar to the 3U/4U Hunting Horn and you have all the Hunting Styles and Arts to mix it up and adapt it to your prefered playstyle. Furthermore you have more than 100 Horns to chose from! But most importantly is the double-note system: basically if you hit a monster with a note it becomes a double note. And if you´re able to play a song that consists only of those notes you get this buff and refresh the one you played before. You have an easier time keeping up your buffs as a reward for playing offensively and playing offensively (read: not carelessly) is what you should do anyway. Use the horn like the glorious long-reaching hammer that it is. My personal favorite iteration of the hunting horn is the one in Iceborne. It brings a lot of flexibility and you don´t have to memorise the notes and songs anymore because they are shown on the screen. You can line up multiple songs and pick which one you want to play next. And the ways in which you can exploit monster behaviour while you play songs AND reposition yourself during the performance feels just too good! But I don´t think it is very easy to pick up. Last but not least is the Hunting Horn in Rise. It has been reworked again and it is definitely the easiest to pick up. The different Hunting Horn systems in each game are a bit like ice cream flavours. Just try them out and you´ll see what you like. Sorry for this wall of text and sorry that I´m not able to do justice to every hunting horn version in a youtube comment. I could possibly talk about this for hours. Tl;dr: Pick FU if you love pain Pick GU for variety and the old playstyle mixed with some fun new stuff Pick 4U when you want the old playstyle but GU throws too much at you with all these Styles/Arts. Pick 3U for Underwater combat, I guess? Pick World/Iceborne for the most flexible but complex mechanics Pick Rise for its beginner friendliness (and because that may be the way forward in the next games)
wow, I can imagen the grind for farm all of them, congrats, amazing vid! This was my first MH but sinse was quite hard to understand i never play HH there, now that i'm playing it again wasn't easy neither. But after have see all that designs... i think i'm gonna train until i can play a few hunts with it there... (the memories in the outro, amazing)
Yes. While it's definitely not a top-tier speedrun weapon, it's not as far behind the other weapons as you might think. The Hunting Horn really shines in multiplayer though and it is way less frustrating there.
It was difficult to choose either of the two perspectives. Something is lost in both of them. In retrospect I should have just done both or should have used a camera rotation again. Thank you for your feedback, I will think about this.
