We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.

I love this! We had no money when the boys were little, so I did my best to fill their lives with weekend summer camping and winter skiing -- I could not afford skis for me, but the boys had cross country, and could use the "bunny slope." We beach combed and hiked and in general, did US! I had one of my adult sons say recently, "I didn't know we were poor." I told him that paying bills was my problem, not theirs. Memories last a lifetime; toys get old and broken and forgotten. You are doing it right. Make them productive, and helpful human beings, and give them lots of great memories. Family is very important; it lasts for generations. ❤

I shall never forget Dec 23ed 1993 moving into our new home from living in a 30 foot RV trailer for a year with two kids a dog and bird my wife and I struggled to put up the 9’ tree that night and able to wrapping a few presents for the kids and the dog sleeping in front of the new wood pellet stove and the bird singing for joy while my wife’s and my eyes meet and we passed out! A Christmas not forgotten!

I've smiled the whole video. There is nothing more amazing about Christmas than time spent together. For my whole life as a kid my parents were taking me and my siblings for a trip to the mountains for holidays. And even though it was one room, cooking our own meals and only going on sledge and throwing snowballs- nothing fancy, it was amazing time full of good memories.

What a great lesson: experiences matter more than physical gifts under the tree! That's something we try to emulate in our own lives but you guys take the cake with that awesome family vacation. And the retrospective about how far you've come since your first Christmas there was beautiful to see. One year when I was about 10 years old we spent Christmas up in our cabin at Big Bear Lake. That was my favorite place on earth. It was not what we had imagined and we realized that for waking up on Christmas morning there is no place like home. Looking back I miss that cabin, but most of all I miss home sweet home and all that goes with it.

Fantastic family video with great memories to cherish. I just have to share. I'm a mom of 4 boys & my youngest (25) stunned us this year with 2 tickets to London UK! I'm from there. We came here in '67, just the 6 of us, I was almost 8. Only been back 4 times, last time was in '93 before my youngest was even born. All of my extended family lives there. I told him he has to come with us. Of course I cried, I can't believe it! Merry Christmas Every One!

It’s all about good family living and enjoying the absolute beauty of the outdoors. I was born and raised in the Eastern Panhandle but left in the mid ‘90’s to join the military. I’ve only been back for short visits since. I’ve always missed it and the people but you guys are making me seriously home sick. I may have to make the move back there in 2022! Anywho, I hope you all had a great Christmas and have continued happiness and success in the New Year!

For those that misinterpret that as a financial statement, it's the farthest thing from my mind.
