The blades got dislodged, I was told by doctor not to use it as it gives joint (elbow) pain. I threw it. Now happily using knife and chopping board.....
I recently bought one of these. It came with only one blade for chopping onions. I sliced the onion into quarters figuring it would be easier than using half an onion. I was wrong. I pushed on the top per the instructions and had to push so hard I thought it would break the plastic container. A few small squares of onion were in the bottom container and the rest of the onion left in the top part was squished. I continued with the other three quarters and it did the same thing. I actually wasted more onion than was in the container. I tried it again the other day and it appears that the machine is broken. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS GADGET.
Watch closely at 1:42 as they quickly cut the camera in efforts to hide what would actually happen if you tried to slice a whole potato. The potato would break that flimsy piece of plastic. This is just another example of false advertising; say what ever it takes to make as much fast-money as possible.
First of all...there is something wrong with this video as it skips in many spots. Secondly...unless you own one...WHICH I HIGHLY DOUBT...you have no clue if it works with a whole potato, or not. Thirdly...I JUST BOUGHT one, and indeed...it works just like they say it works. Even for a WHOLE POTATO! I love this little machine. I would buy it again in a heartbeat and just purchased another for a friend's wedding shower.
I just bought one, used it yesterday for the first time. It will not dice anything. Tried green pepper, tomatoes, onion to make a salad, not one of them would chop, they just get stuck in the blades. I finally cut them up smaller and then it would work, defeats the purpose. I also tried to shoestring slice a potato with the narrow blade........that didn't work either. I noticed when washing one of the containers before using that one of the round black counter protectors was there, the other three were gone, that container also had cracks in it. Another container only has three of the black counter protectors on the bottom. I bought additional containers because I thought they would be nice in the refrigerator. The lids don't fit tight on the plastic containers, they snap on on the ends but not on the sides, so they don't have a good seal. 60 day return policy, only if you haven't used it..........., how do you know if it works if you can't try it? Just don't buy one. Go buy a Vidalia slicer instead, they actually work very well and are much less expensive. I hope my credit card stands behind this. I will be calling them tomorrow to see what they will do.
I purchased a dicer and had to return it. I had to pay 15 dlrs to send it back. When cutting a tomato, it smashed it all. Cutting a raw carrot or apple, forget it. I wasn't ready to use no more force than what I have to. I rather use my regular knives, its easier and faster. Very unsatisfied with this product.
Plastic and light weight device. Will soon break if you are cutting hard vegetables, e.g., carrots ... Even using a sharp knife there is still some force needed ... This device makes 20 cuts all at the same time, I.e., you have 20 times more force needed. It's okay for potatoes and other soft vegetables, but forget about it if you want to cut carrots or any hard vegetable ... Also, you cannot sharpen these tiny little cheap blades. And thanks to @Andrew Safin for the link to a heavy duty chopping machine.
The hinge looks weak and who knows how long those non-replaceable "blades" would last in the real world. Clean up looks like a "B" , especially after the blade edges get some wear and it starts to mash product.
My blades were blunt and never cut like that and you really need to be strong to press it down! My lid wouldn't click shut. Altogether a waste of money. Much quicker to get out the knife. Pieces may not all be the same but at least I'm not left with half of the things stuck in the blades. Chinese rubbish.
Let's be realistic, this device does not work and is a waste of time and money. The blades are cheap- and I'd like to point out- it would not dice your tomatoes - it would mash them.
