More fun facts from behind the scenes: - I think my track (DEVILISH CD) kept its name due to the metadata I gave it. OMOCAT let us name our tracks, so I referenced the fact she's an idol in the title while making it sound like a fun little alliteration, although it's strange that no other tracks have alternate names. Makes my contribution feel a little more special :) - We were allowed to add BLURBS to the track, but not everyone submitted them according to OMOCAT, so all of them were cut. They would have presumably gone in the text box at the top. Mine was: "Not exactly what I had in mind when I imagined what the theme for a "world-famous idol" would sound like. Maybe if she owned a club? .. *does she own a club?* This little arrangement uses the VRC6 sound chip, and the intro is made intentionally to sound like what you'd hear in *popular Famicom game about hunting vampires*! .. *is she a vampire?*"
Damn I like behind the scene fact about video game. I would like a making off video or a book with some fact about all the people who have worked on this fantastic game. Maybe in the walkthrough guide ahah ? ;)
Bo en said on his latest stream that Omocat wanted him to make a CD, but he passed on the offer. i think he said it was bc he was busy with another project at the time
Best thing about Headspace is that Omori/Sunny is likely hearing the songs and background music that is playing and they aren’t added just for the player.
not be a lil Toby fox nerd, but I really admire his style, like it’s INSTANTLY recognizable, merry cd just sounds so….Toby. Lol ps; all these artists did amazing in these!!!
@@smile-- Actually, the Song was made long before Deltarune even exists. It was like in the Kickstarter of OMORI or something. For details, dont ask me cause i got this from others.
When I played this game for the first time, I made it a huge effort to collect as many jukebox CDs as possible. Unfortunately, I didn't know that I had to feed the orange cat everyday so I had to replay the entire game just to get those last 2 CDs I needed, namely the "DEVILISH CD" and the "TRANQUIL CD". It took me 6 hours just to feed that cat... 6 HOURS!!! Ah well, better to look on the bright side of things. At least I've gotten pretty good at speedrunning OMORI now. I mean, my first playthrough took me 30 hours. Now, I can beat the game in only 6 hours. I've improved so much! :D And if you're wondering... Yes, I extracted all of these songs from the game files, I didn't need to record them from the game. So why did I need to spend so much time to get those 2 CDs? Well, it was all just so that I could see the flavor text from Rai, of course... Curse me and my curiosity... ~_~
@@kaniikarma Samm Neiland, who did the music for the Otherworldly CD. He hasn’t done much as Toby or James, but I still recognize him as a HS musician. He composed “Iron Infidel” and played the viola for “Moonsetter”. He’s also made one LoFaM 2 track called “The Four Thrones”.
The secret CD is a funny little cover of the song that plays when activating the fish on the wall in the igloo in that snowy place in Otherworld, (it’s also in the house in Deep Well, the guy in that house has tons of them) edit: oh and the song the guitarist guy sings in head space (near train station) and in real world (near othermart)
The melody's also used when the mermaids return to the restaurant in Deep Well in the Hikkikomori Route. It's surprisingly prolific for a song that's most well known for the absurd lyrics of an already-hidden variant, huh?
i love the fact that an upbeat music is in a psychological horror game and a disturbing track in a non horror game, and both of the tracks are made by toby
I was never expecting the main composer for most of Hiveswap to make a song for this game, but goddamn was I pleasantly surprised. James Roach never ceases to consistently make incredible music.
Thank you so much for collecting them all together in one place! I really wish these were on an official album so I could purchase them all together, but for now this will have to do.
This video gives me the same kinda vibes as that one video of all the Persona battle themes that has a shitton of effort put into it. Respect for making something that honestly looks like a genuine sound test menu that would be in Omori instead of just lazily putting all the songs back to back with no visuals outside of the game's logo or something.
I remember when I just started playing Omori, I entered Gino's for the first time and spent like half an hour listening to Merry CD. It was like a dream. Since then, I knew Omori would be my all time favorite
In Toby Fox's cd, you can hear "Reunited" from Undertale if you listen close enough. Nice lil secret I found. If you listen to the strings at 4:16, you'll hear it.
Toby has a habit of reusing motifs, whether intentionally or by accident. His two songs for Cucumber Quest (Nightmare Knight and Noisemaster’s themes respectively) share motifs with ‘The Chase’ and ‘Metal Crusher’ respectively. He’s also made a song called ‘Downwell Idea’ that has the Freedom Motif at the start of it, and that’s most likely unintentional.
Jokes aside, secret CD sounds really good and emotional, I wish we could listen to a longer version, that is too good to be that short. Uh, and also it is a cover of a singing fish from Kell's home.
I could swear when I played the game there was a perfect heart CD, and It was the Brutal CD, but everywhere else makes it seem likes its underwater prom queens, which is my favorite track in the game. Dont get me wrong, but I could swear there was a perfect heart CD
Ones I like best were: Otherwordly (favorite one out of all the songs), Ethereal, Dynamic, Celestial, Tranquil (I was okay with the beginning but when I kept listening to this one I ended up liking it a lot), and Secret (cute). Ones I was okay with: Devilish, Merry, Chill (it do be chill), and Lively (reminded me of Final Fantasy a bit for some reason). My least favorite ones (but I'm not saying they're bad or anything): Brutal, Ghoulish, and Nostalgic. Overall though all the songs are great! :D I enjoyed listening to them! (This is also just me expressing my opinion on the songs because I wanted to say) ^^;
There are two fonts, the normal and the creepy versions, and you can find them in the game files. Just go to "Steam/SteamApps/common/OMORI/www/fonts" and there will be two TrueType font files. OMORI_GAME and OMORI_GAME2 are the fonts you wanna download. I don't know if they're available for download online, but you should be able to just download them pretty easily from the game files. Hope this helps :)
I wanted to go straight to the treehouse, so I missed alot of stuff, but I made a detour for pizza time with the otherworldly cd and had a dance party to the beat.
Most of them you can get pretty easily by exploring around the real world. But some of them can only be obtained by making sure to feed this one cat fish every day and every night. ngl it's pretty tedious so I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you're really serious about it ._.
ive been an undertale fan for a long time now, and when i heard merry cd for the first time i was just "yup, thats toby" lol. he has such a recognizable style.
