Overall, it seems pretty good. It feels like they are going for unique weapons instead of obvious weapons, which is fine for the sake of variety. However, I hope they add more popular guns down the road so they don't repeat what Vanguard did: having fun, unique choices for the launch guns but not adding a lot of fan favorite and iconic guns post-lunch. But the Shotgun, LMG,, and Pistol classes feel underwhelming. There should have been a third shotgun either another semi-auto or a double barrel of some kind. I feel like their should have been a fourth LMG. And it kind of sucks not to have a base game revolver again as they are fun to use.
It’s annoying coz there was a promo image with both the 1911 pistol and the PKM lmg. I definitely agree with you I wish there was a bit more variety in some of the weapon classes
It's still a Treyarch game in the end, my prediction is that the likely won't add very much in terms of Shotguns or Pistols. Other games have basically always followed this troupe.
Because it's getting integrated with warzone soon. Than means Bo6 weapons with MW2 & 3 weapons. I guess they don't want overlap and players complaining about "reused assets" or something. Remember warzone 1 having THREE 1911s to choose from (mw2019, cold war, vanguard)?
I think for shotguns they could either add the overunder olympia from bo1 or a Beneli m4 (they’ve already added the USP which comes out four years after the events of bo6) and for pistols it would be awesome to have a proper M9 without the 3D printing plastic parts and a good M45A1 (it’s a 1911 but tailor made to what recon marines want) with a R700 Remington rifle
@@thatsprettygood9613the “m9” in mw3 is the raffica 3 round burst model and you somehow need a 3D printed lower to make it single fire (that’s also ignoring the butchered model, lack of slide stop grrove, slow fire rate and the slide being always out of battery) and the 9mm daemon is a 2011 so I think there’s room for treyarch to add a proper m9 and 1911 without getting accused of reusing assets Also since when did reusing models or animations to speed up development has become an issue? The poor devs are already being worked to death by activision
@@bradenmchenry995 i get that. i think the game should’ve released with an M9 along with the .22 pistol. This is the very first time the Grendel P31 has been depicted in a video game, and i find that really cool. i’ve already seen the M9 and 1911 countless of times.
@@joogwoogI think that some of the leaked guns are broken down into attachments for the currently available weapons, but some of those leaked guns (especially shotguns) might get postponed for future seasons.
theres no reason not to theres operators in bo6 that have the 1911 holstered; the cover of the game even has the iconic 1911 black ops pose, theyd be dumb if they didnt add it lol
@@undefinedhuman7404 problem is we already have Mustang and Sally in zombies for a different pistol, i honestly feel like they won't add 1911 this year.
still strange that the burst rifles go into the MR category, and the bullpup FAL thing is an assault rifle, which seems quite backwards if they're trying to be consistent
@@incompetencelogistics8924 I think Treyarch categorizes weapons by the damega metrics instead of the real life categorizations. Brust rifles have better TTKs and slower handling than ARs so that they'll be categorized with the other high damage single fire rifles, and I think that the bullpup FAL will possibly have a similar TTK and handlings like ARs so it'll get categorized with other ARs.
@@Just_Jac0b in 2022, a california law passed where games have to use fake names and sometimes fake models for guns that is advertised to minors, despite cod being rated M, minors still buy them so they still have to do it, for the games before that it was just licsensing
@@bosssoider1854Not to make fun of you or anything since this is a common belief amongst this community, but this is not actually true. That law you’re referring to is AB 2571, and it does not focus on videogame content, it strictly focuses on actual advertising. Using real weapon designs and names (with the appropriate rights) is protected under appropriate use. The reason why they most likely don’t use real names is because: 1- It saves cheap-ass Activision licensing fees. 2- COD and other games are prone to lengthy, costly lawsuits when major shootings happen. A group of parents from the Uvalde shooting sued gun manufacturers and accused them of advertising their weapons on COD. It brings unnecessary drama and even though these lawsuits are dumb, they are unnecessary money-wasters. This reaction, however, is not from the existence of the bill itself.
I notice that all the 'Lower' number of Weapons at start are all Treyarch games! A gradual decline from BO1 to BO3 and then seem to settle on around 30 Weapons at Launch...
At least Bo4 had tons of internal issues over it's dev cycle and a change from Campaign to BR, and Cold War was them picking up the pieces and scrambling to make a COD in under 2 years... I mean... what's Bo6's excuse? It didn't have a ton of internal issues, change course for it's game/gameplay or had a strict deadline that was hard to meet and yet we're still getting only 2 Shotguns at Launch somehow. Unbelievable honestly...
it's been 12 years since we've seen the pp-90 in cod, and I don't know whether to be glad or sad about it what I know is I am still gonna use it when I hop on the og and better mw3, where it was a fan favorite as it should be
Gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with the weapon roster this time round. The number is pretty low, and I was really hoping to see an FAL and a Galil. There was that leak a few months back of what were supposed to be the weapons, and I guess I trusted it too much and now this is a bit of a let-down by comparison. It feels like there are still several iconic weapons that are just missing.
I bet the more iconic weapons will come as dlc. Seems they wanted to feature a launch roster of "new" weapons and then add the iconic ones later down the line
@HOIIIYEAA At this point, it's better to just buy COD games a year after they're released. You get all the content and updates for a lower price, lol.
It's based on a real gun that actually had a 30 round capacity. Keltec even makes a modernized version that's avilable and also has the 30 round capacity. It's because 22 WMR is such a thin cartridge that you can cram a lot into a double stack mag without it being too long vertically.
@@bioforce5 i figured as much, i was more so refering to the balance aspect than physically fitting that many rounds in it. Like i'm almost imagining that its fast fire rate is going to mean it's going to have to land more bullets than average to score the kill, just to balance out how many rounds you get by default.
Probably all being saved for seasonal content. I wouldn't be surprised if every season included some kind of nostalgia weapon to keep fans of the older games coming back.
The reason for that is overlap with warzone Which is nice that all the weapons will be new to the series or returning if they aren't in warzone currently But sad because the weapon variety is pretty much m4 but an lmg
I hope the weapons feel fun and distinct. 3arc games tend to lack in distinct weapons and lots of them tend to feel samey with slightly different stats. Amp in mw3 helped with this a lot
Honestly I disagree I have always felt that the weapons in 3arc games tend to have more character and be more well balanced than the other studios. I mean when you look at black ops 2, 3 and 4 there were multiple viable weapons in each weapon category that behaved entirely differently to the rest of the guns in their respective weapon class, and even though Cold War certainly had some balancing issues I would hardly say that’s because the weapons were too similar, but rather because the outliers behaved so differently that they were inherently harder to balance look at the EM2, TEC9 and the Crossbow for instance.
Their cookie cutter attachments kind of make me feel like it's not gonna feel distinct at all (hopefully we get more attachments like the XMG's crossbar)
@@IronSpiderGamingyou literally listed all dlc weapons for cw, not to mention cw's crossbow is the worst in the franchise since it had 0 customization. Bo4 is an exception because that game had operator mods which were the predecessor to AMPs. But bo2 did a good job but that was a much older cod game. bo3 weapons did feel very samey, and a lot of the more unique weapons were locked behind supply drops.
If they actually balanced there wouldn't be just 3-4 guns used, there's other shooters without that problem 😂 for $70+ every year I'd be pretty annoyed at 30 weapons especially when 20 of them are already in older cods @@mikew2911
@@mikew2911most of these guns still arent gonna be used anyway. Im predicting right now half of the guns are gonna be shit. Especially the bullpup fal
I think the amount of Weapons is still a bit underwhelming, but 2 Shotguns is honestly downright unacceptable for a game with the longest dev cycle in history. I mean seriously, would it have killed them to add 1 more Shotgun to the game at Launch? Sucks to see this, especially after Bo4 & Cold Wars lackluster Launch Weapon Counts, I really thought they'd turn it around for Bo6 and it's only got about 2-3 more Weapons than those games had.
Kinda disappointed with this weapons list. Lot of interesting experimental weapons floating around in the 90s that would be right at home here, especially considering how many weird/obscure guns were in Cold War. A flachette firing assault rifle from the ACR program in the 90s would’ve been cool, or maybe the G11 again. Or at least another shotgun. Glad to see the PP90M1 back though, one of my favorites from original MW3.
I like the gun selection in this game - it’s unique. Glad that a few guns have their real names even though it’s not many. There should have been at least 4 shotguns really so hopefully we get a few DLC ones.
It's just the launch weapons, give it time, I'm sure the seasons will add more lol. Plus why do you need more? A shotgun's a shotgun. Different than rifles/SMGs/etc.
@@peepsbates So? This is CoD, not RDR2. Why would you use a shotgun with only 2 rounds at a time in such a fast-paced game? I know we had double barrels in recent MW games, but still. Makes no sense lol.
Alr let's see how accurate that graph I made months ago was (I will return to edit this in a few mins) Edit: only 2 off from the leaks, not bad! Although i am a bit dissapointed we are getting 2 shotguns at launch. I'm expecting very good post launch weapon support now, I'm trusting you treyarch. Also no 1911 😭
4:32 I'm sorry, but how is that a "Marksman Rifle" ? 7.62x39, 30-round mag, burst fire. It's been an AR in like every other CoD game that it's been in (well, the AEK-971 variant). It should be a burst-fire AR, not a MR.
Treyarch likes to categorize the weapons based on the stats that they're given. If the weapon is a burst gun in Treyarch games, then it'll likely have worse handling stats than ARs but it'll also have better damage profiles than ARs. (Also Treyarch likes to put AKS74U in the SMG category.)
@@computerwsmallscreen2709 Lol fair enough. Whatever they wanna do, oh well. I love their games the most anyway lol. Also yeah I know, putting the 74U as an SMG is dumb as well. "The gun is short, so it must be an SMG." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope the camo challenges won't be glitched like some weapons in Cold War. I don't want to experiencing having to earn gold camo 8 times for the same weapon!
For the time period they’re definitely missing a few weapons namely the M9, M16A2, RPG-7, M72A3 LAW, RPK, PKM, M21, and AKS-74U. But I guess it’s nice we finally get the AK-74 in a game! Also would’ve liked to see the G3, AUG, M1911, and the FAL.
the one gun i genuinely disliked in mw2019 too much damage for such a fast fire rate rifle that also came with a free suppressor the slower ttk should keep it more in check if they keep the limited mag size though
@@brianbird7866 After seeing all of our feedback, I'm sure they will adjust the matchmaking, and upgrade to the latest servers with the best tick rate! They usually have our best interests in mind.
The pp90m1 was the Gun i’m the og Mw3 .. hasn’t been in a cod since and it looks exactly the same. I cannot wait to try that definitely know what I’m spending my XP token on.
I'm looking forward to your detailed best weapon videos that show the range, I came into MW3 after the black ops 6 beta and it was extremely hard to understand where the guns were because I didn't see the changes throughout the seasons to understand the weapon updates and what they would do to the stats.
Agreed, that's pretty disappointing. Especially considering the timeframe the game is in, easily could of added 40 guns. Now that would be a solid number. Like really only 2 shotguns and what 4 pistols and a handful of LMGs. That's pretty lame
When it comes to my thoughts on the amount of guns by category, it’s looking to be reasonable but the battle rifle category isn’t even gonna be in BO6 compared to the previous Modern Warfares we had and for the advanced stats screen, it feels better than I thought it would be over previous CODs. In my opinion, Black Ops 6 will sure be the game changer of COD this year.
i appreciate your work with showing us weapons stats over the years, i dont think we would have had any of the advanced stats with out you and others hardwork
33 weapons at launch for cod with full development time is kinda low, but i think we should say thanks to warzone and that treyarch helped another studios (especially made zombies for vanguard, mwz). I also saw leaked weapon names with 50+ weapons and from that least we have at launch 33 weapons. So looks like the remaining 17 or even little more weapons they saved for seasons.
More guns are missing, but you know it will make the camo grind easier for a lot more people. I will be trying out that integrated suppressed rifle. And to start maybe not a bad idea. So that we aren't overwhelmed in the beginning with what gun to use
I'm sorry to say this again but i just dont know what Treyarch have been doing for years. They didnt do the campaign, the multiplayer has very few maps ( and theyre all tiny) and there's barely any guns in the game.
I miss the tactical sprint speed in the advanced stats. That stat is very important for warzone players, because we always have auto tac sprint on and are constantly moving far distances.
@@cobaltcardsgaming5982 Sniper rifles actually take skill to get one shot kills. Shotguns anyone can turn a corner and blast whoever is coming at them. So tired of the shotgun nonsense thats currently in MW3.
@@cobaltcardsgaming5982 Or, shotguns take no skill to use, and snipers do. I want shotguns gone bc they are boring. Using shotguns in Cod is like playing a $70 version of cookie clicker
@@roberte.o.speedwagon6043there is no active patents on any weapon in the game and there is no law in any state that forbids real names or models in video games
@WorkInProgressX How can u say the game has all unique guns when it has 2 different M4 variants (XM4 and XMG) and the KSV is literally just the AS VAL without the integrated suppressor. They could have added so many other fan favorites and cool guns at launch. Treyarch was just being lazy.
finally no bs Riot shield.. I wouldnt even mind Riot shields if they broke like they do in the story mode. them being unlimited in multi was beyond toxic
Disappointed there isn't a 1911 in the game but I hope they'll maybe consider doing special events for the battle passes that might bump up the total weapon count more significantly.
I hope the Goblin MK2 is like the FAL from MW 2019. Mobile, but high damage output if you hit that trigger cap. Loved using it in multiplayer, had a fantastic ttk back then for the more skilled.
I do like that we have less guns that are derived from a same receiver (the only exceptions here are AS VAL - KSV(SR3 Vikhr) and XM4(Colt 723)-DM10(Mk 12)), but I'd still like to have more guns even if they're coming from the same receiver. Overall I'm not too sad or happy about the launch weapon counts.
The DM-10 was my favorite weapon in the Beta I hope it's still crazy at launch too, everyone was busy using the Jackal so I think it was missed how powerful the DM-10 is Also very bizarre only to have 2 shotguns
Gotta love this that once again, like Cold War, the weapon roster is small and doesn't have any no brainer picks *along* with new and unique weapons at launch. Watch the no brainer picks and more interesting weapons be saved for dlc. What a joke. But hey, at least a few of the weapons are period appropriate
Some of these are cool like AS-Val and the Stryder, but the DLC guns are usually when they make a lot more fun ones, so I'm waiting for those. Praying for the Kar98k or the Swiss or something similar.
I actually love this arsenal of weapons because most of them seem NEW and fresh. Because for years they mostly recycled the same guns since the 2000 cods.
A little low on the weapon count but I’m still excited for the camo grinding and I can’t wait to use the AS-Val again hopefully it’ll be decent and not as strong as it was in MW 2019 and doesn’t have bugs with it. 2 shotguns is very surprising to me but it is what it is shotguns hasn’t seen any love over the years, the pistols look interesting this time around hopefully they come with unique attachments or something to expand on the weapon. I’m so ready for the grind next Friday.
There was no tactical sprint to fire speed in the advanced stats, so is it possible they got rid of tac sprint? Also, a bit dissapointed with the weapons tbh. Only adding 2 shotguns is just lazy. There's no reason for there to not be a automatic shotgun and/or a double-barrel shotgun. I also don't understand why they'd add 2 3-round burst guns, but no 4-round burst gun. The M8A1 (and M8A7) is so iconic for Treyarch, I'm sure a lot of people would love a similar gun in this game.
Slightly disappointed by a few weapons not making it into the game. They could've leaned towards the more obscure territory by including the SCAMP, the calico SMG, and the jackhammer shotgun
