"Bold move, sister" makes me so happy because it's amazing to see siblings being supportive of their younger siblings' relationships without getting involved
And they aren't doing the, "will they? won't they?" crap that miraculous is doing. They are getting "straight" to it. Which I'm pretty we all are living for rn
10:06 Watching Luz try to destroy the cheesy boat ride of love is hilarious and sad at the sametime, can see Amity’s heartbreak believing Luz didn’t feel the same way is saddening
Honestly, besides being a well written LGBTQ couple, them two themselves are probably one of the best written couples I’ve ever seen Their development felt natural from enemies to acquaintances to friends to lovers just felt natural I hope I get to see more of them by the time season 2B comes around Please Dana, don’t let anything horrible happen to them
I love how they're not portrayed as the "perfect couple" and are able to have a really thought out get together. They have fights and have character development, genuinely one of my favorites ships
I love how supportive Eda is of Luz. Like in that last scene Luz tells Eda that she wants to ask Amity out and she’s just like “Do you wanna?” As long as Luz actually wants something and it will make her happy Eda supports.
I love these kinds of relationships because they don’t feel so forced. They don’t completely fall in love right but it was something that slowly processed. They made it where you saw like how they fell for each other and the process of it. So I’m happy is wasn’t forced
There is no relationship made cannon that is more perfect than Lumity. As Hooty said, they deserve all the happiness in the world! I'm so excited to see this relationship grow!
Right, I'm lost here. If we're talking owl house, forgive me. If we're not, you're wrong on so many levels and need as much sense knocked into you as possible. Edit: I just looked them up. These guys found each other late. Lumity is early teen romance that the entire fanbase here is for. Plus, Amity and Luz have next to no experience on love, and I'm sure these other ships do, making Lumity much more adorable, and relatable for people with first time relationships.
well to be fair at the end of this episode he did eat the letter for king. But for me that's when I started hating him. Before that he was funny. and while he was a good plot device in this episode I just personally felt weird about him forcing character development.
others didn’t really treat hooty badly. i mean he did get poked and destroyed by amity but he’s strong. besides, hooty was invading others’ personal space. overall hooty is nice
Kinda sad when Luz says “I’m gonna be made fun of again.” It’s not cause she thinks Amity will poke fun at Luz, it’s probably because in the Human world, she was teased and bullied for her sexual preferences. She probably liked someone back home and was ridiculed when she came out or was outted… I’m willing to bet that Amity is the first girl in a long time she’s harbored feelings for and her uncertainty on Amity’s feelings or willingness to date her causing her to panic is just precious. The writers of this show are honestly great, give them an effing raise
No its be cause she was made fun of cause in her world the were people that were bi to and she never felt accepted so she couldn't have any feelings for any human guy or girl cause she need to be more free to start feeling these emotions
Totally. Can't wait to see what the crew does, cause they definitely have something planned/done, in regards to this and Luz' whole lack of self confidence and history of being bullied/being an outcast. I know Dana said that the Demon realm is free from Homophobia. . . I wonder if the Human world is the same or not? . . If so, I'm sure Luz' anxieties will be linked to something that could be read as an allegory for homophobia in any case. . . Either way, I'm gonna cry. D''''':
I don't really like the whole 'bullied for sexual preference' aspect here. Yeah those stories are very important but it's also important to have representation that is normalized without the main conflict being 'people don't accept us'. If the world is shown to accept it, then the viewers will too.
yall are looking way into this stop focusing on her sexuality she said that cuz she was kinda nerdy with all the magic and shit watch the first episode again it showed her doing goofy shit that was what she was talking about 2 mini rant who cares that she is bi nobody gives a shit now im not saying you cant be exited about luz and amity becoming a couple thats fine but for fucks sake there more to luz and amity besides there sexuality we all should be like oh she bi thats cool
This relationship is well-written. Nothing forced, nothing one-sided. They’re practically bouncing off of each other with their awkward quirks that makes them more human.
Actually I love how they managed they’re relationship! Way better than what some shows like star vs the forces of evil or Steven universe did with their main couple.
I just realized something. Before the tunnel of love scene, Amity was in the middle of telling Luz to just "forget what happened at her place" and judging by Luz's reaction, she probably took that to mean that Amity didn't mean to kiss her and that this was all a big misunderstanding on her part. So as far as Luz is concerned, she's already been rejected by Amity, and if anything, she was hoping to at least get out of the whole tunnel of love situation having preserved her friendship with Amity at best. And when Amity makes it clear that she feels rejected following the whole fiasco, Luz only realizes then that the feelings were always mutual and is terrified that she actually just ruined her chances with Amity. Of course, Hooty immediately interrupts, so there's no time for her to dwell on it obviously, and it's resolved by the end anyways, but hey, something to think about, right?
Watching Luz & Amity get closer together is amazing. It brings up feelings I've never felt before, it makes me think I can find someone too. It's amazing, I want to see more of it, Lumity forever
2:18 bonus for those who don't speak Spanish, Luz's name means "light", so not only is Amity announcing how much she cares for Luz here, the literal words are "stay away from my light".
Me and my gf are in the same world, but in different universes. We're in a long distance relationship and we became a couple 4 days after we met. I'm not kidding, this actually happened.
The did such a good job with the progress between them they showed her reason behind bullying them and they made it an actual good reason and they made sure they showed more of how strict amity’s parents really are, I loved how they also made the parents have some realization that they were being to harsh forwards the end
@@mr.context3872 I mean, a couple ways Hooty might actually know. For all the strange things he does, Hooty is obscenely observant. There is also the question of "how" did he get Amity into the basement? Was she skulking around the owl house? maybe doing one of her "this is so stupid, she's going to think I'm stupid" rants. Planning to go and talk to Luz about "the kiss" and to "forget it ever happened". If Hooty is observant enough to pick up Luz' slip of the tongue, he's attentive enough to listen to a five minute external monologue from Amity confessing her feelings to prep for "the talk". For all his faults, I don't think Hooty would set Luz up if there was a good chance he felt Amity would reject her or her feelings were one sided.
@@SilentOmenx good point im sure at some point he picked up on amity blushing or stuttering around luz kept it to himself n when he found out luz liked her back was all "i got this!"
I love Lumity. its such a well rounded relationship. I had no idea they were going to be a couple so it was nice surprise. Their chemistry feels real and not forced. They went from enemies to friends to a couple.
My only wish is for a good and effective plan to stop the increasing anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric. And of course, all of my hope and luck for the Ukrainians to win. For my personal life, it's sometimes hard being me: I have to take prescribed medication for my ADHD and Autistic tendencies (yes I am on the Autistic Spectrum), I turned 18 less than 3 months ago (January), and now with everything that is going on I have to write a Satiric essay over the weekend (the topic of which is discrimination against everyone: every ethnicity, every country-of-origin, (almost) every background). The only exceptions are white supremacists, (read: actual) extremist groups, Nazis (Neos), homophobes, transphobes, and every other person that discriminates/judges other humans. They can be allowed to voice their opinions and dislikes, but anything physical or overly public will be (read: should be) considered a hate crime and reasonably punished. Thank you for taking the time to read everything.
What I like the most is that they fit their age so well. That's how two fourteen years would act most of the time, they feel immature sometimes and figuring life out together. They are so cute
this feels so surreal i remember rejoicing at 14 when korra and asami held hands and was confirmed canon ugh thinking about how i had to sift through the subtext and create my own assumptions in countless animated shows to feel at ease that love between the same sex is normal im so grateful for shows like these that presents it so organically
First of all, can we talk about the fact that Amity and Willow are TALKING to each other a lot more now than they used to; most notably in Escaping Expulsion? I know at the end of Understanding Willow, the latter said "I can't say we're friends but it's...a start" but they seem to have become BFFs again like they were before; all thanks to Luz. Second of all, our Mittens has matured and grown so much in ALL the right ways (ways that her parents seem to think is "wrong")
@@garrettjackson1451 True...but he only seems interested because according to him, Amity could become a Coven Head. Other than that, he may or may not still harbor a disdain towards her hanging out with "low-level" people
@@sadlobster1 That could have been just to make his wife calm down a dn except she lost faster without the fight going on any longer. Remember, she wants to look good for the family name and that stuff. And as for the flashback, it could have been just how Amity remembered. But I'm still a little confused as too how Amity's memory could be shown in Willow's mind.
What’s not surprising is how they bowed down to Europe, China, and Russia by essentially canceling the show because of this bold, yet well needed move.
@@davidshin7869 please don't just throw Europe in with the other homophobic world powers! Most of west-Europe (Think Germany and France, etc) is actually very chill about gay people.
