Kudos 2U Dude! Built from scratch and even put a thumb on it as well. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone do that. Great work buddy! Truly a one off excavator to be proud of...
That is AWESOME Reg !!!!!! Your right Bulldozer Brian his work is unbelievable !!! I know first hand , I have one of RCP's dump boxes and he is currently building me a half round trailer dump !!!! BEST in the business !!!! My pieces are museum quality and they run even better !!!!
I could sit and look at your slides all day but I don't want to run out. I made a crawler crane for my final project in tech school. I took drafting and my portion was the track system for it....but it lead into just doing it all because everyone else was busy so I really admire this one...mine was just poster board but it took me an entire night to cut out linkage and tooth pick them together for the chain. the wheels, crank arms, and turn table base were wooden. I used flaps of rubber for the track/track pads because I didn't have enough time to make them any cooler. but the cab was poster board and once i got started going at it i just kept getting more and more ridiculous and detailed. tinfoil windows. my partner made a really awesome boom with square dowel rods and we used a bobber for the wrecking ball. wish I still had it but I have the experience and now the inspiration to do it again for fun! you're awesome!
+l byerly Sounds like something I would do! I am getting better now but I still don't take pictures of a lot of small stuff. I always think "I'm never building that again so why bother". 6 months later I am doing it again but can't remember how I did it and have no pictures to reference.lol
RCP57 awman, yea in that instance, id be pissed! haha i really like your slide show presentations you do. i applaud your lack of laziness : ) feels like I'm hanging out while your building it....as creepy as that sounds, i hope you know what i mean
+l byerly Well thanks. I've kept myself pretty busy building this stuff over the last few years. I'm glad that someone actually watches the build videos I put up. Maybe someone will learn something from them even if it's how not to do something.lol
Wow ! That's Freakin Cool ! You sure do put alot of hard work and lots of hours into your builds ! Talk about Dedicated to sticking with it and gettin the job done. But the End Product is WELL Worth the Bizzillion hours you put into it. Awesome Work, Well Done ! Thank You For Sharing the Build Pics with us.
This is just amazing to watch! Love it really, great job on this. So I was wondering... Now I have never built nor designed anything like this but wouldn't it be possible to put a longer helical gear inside the track frame that drives the track sprocket as to not have the motors stick out towards the inside of the undercarriage? I'm pretty certain that should work and make it look just that extra bit neater and "real" but that is just my own opinion. Let me know what you think about that!
dude I just now viewed your Volvo excavator build. (Wow) really, I cant wait until I can weld aluminum. what are you using to weld. And do you have use of a cnc machine.
cool im looking to try to build that exact one for my self i own a maching and welding shop and i am a rc collector trucks planes helecopters you name it and im good at tig welding so im going to give it a shot oh and where did you get the hydraulic kit from? and motors and stuff if you could send me the links for that stuff that would be great Thanks and great job i love your work
+RedSkyGrove Cool. The hydraulics on this were all custom made other than the pump. It came from a supplier in Germany but is made by Jung Fluid. Make sure to post up your progress!
Hello! I just got into this rc stuff. All those models are so expensive so i tought maybe i could build on by myself. Could you please share your measurements and drawings?
hey where did you get your blueprints from? iv been looking for months for some. i whent to dealers too and they would'nt give me any blueprints so i need help with finding some Thanks
+RedSkyGrove I didn't have any. Just used the basic info on their site and collected as many photos as I could from the net. It was tough to find pictures at the time because it was a very new machine. Lots of photos available now to build from.
+RedSkyGrove No not this one. It was just the pump and I put together the rest. Magom HRC is selling a Jung pump with motor, relief valve, and small tank as a unit for the best price I've seen. You might want to check that out.
