I remember when I saw episode 1 and saw Dekku binging that Almight video, I thought "this guy's too good to be true. There's going to be something sinister about him". Turns out, Almight was everything that everyone said he was. Screw Superman. Give us Almight.

I got a chill run down my spine when the line "I have doubts" because the inspirational song just hit with a reminder that All Might could only fan those flames for so long and that song nails this period of time for All Might.

I just love songs like this: Beautifully crafted for a specific character or series, but vague enough to be applied to almost any scenario that fits the theme of the song. For example, this song just feels so fitting when i think of the character/legend of Saint-14 of Destiny 1and 2. The guy literally was the greatest titan who ever lived; he went on a cruscade against the fallen in retaliation for all the attacks against The Last City over the centuries; this came to an end when he HEADBUTTED the leader of the House of Devil's to death! And after that, he went on a even longer one man campaign against the Vex trough time and space! This centuries long war against the Vex left such an impression on them that they built a tomb for Saint-14 in his honor. Its even hinted at that the Vex went so far as to repair the damage done to his body afer hundreds, possibly thousands, of battles over the course of his lifetimes, before placing his remains within the tomb. And as a commentator pointed out, this campaign against the Vex came to an end when they created a Vex Mind whose sole goal was to steal Saint-14's Light and end him once and for all.

You just United States of smashed my every expectation. Definitely becoming my favorite music channel on RU-vid.

So I get the fact that All Might is based off the character of Superman, and is in some ways representative of America in a few minor ways, but I like to think that All Might is the character of Superman written much better than the original character. His powers really do make him a god among mortals, with the second top hero Endeavor being several orders of magnitude behind him in terms of raw power. But in the end, All Might is still just a human. He has hopes and dreams and struggles to cope with his own mortality and with the thoughts of how the world will cope when the day comes when he can no longer fight. I feel like this is an idea that never had to see the light of day in the old Superman comics. As far as I know Superman is, for all intents and purposes, immortal. Sure there was a "Death of Superman" moment...for all of like five seconds before they Deus ex Machina'ed him back to life. But there's never to my knowledge a true discussion of what would come after if Superman were ever able to stop fighting the good fight. My Hero Academia is an idealistic view of the world, but it also filters that idealism though a lense of reality. Hopes and dreams are important to the aspiring characters of the series, but they are constantly filtered through and tested by real world situations and tragedies, creating something much stronger than contemporary, one-dimensional superheroes. I think that's why I enjoy the series so much. Yes, it gets a bit too "good" for the characters sometimes. We haven't seen anyone legitimately killed off. Even when Lemillion lost his powers it is still suggested that he will eventually get them back. Even so, they are confronted with some harsh truths about the world, with the arc of All Might desperately struggling to keep hold of One for All long enough to fulfill his duty to the next generation, with the Hero-Killer Stein arc providing a glimpse of the sort of extremist ideologies and extremist ultimatums Midorya and the others will be fighting against in their careers as heroes. It filters the lense of idealist superhero comics through a sieve of reality that I never quite get from DC-style comics, and I love it.

If there's one thing that makes All Might an awesome hero, it's not his legacy that he wants continued, it's the hope heroes inspire he fights for. That is why Deku is his protege. He inspires hope... and it makes All Might proud.

ANOTHER excellent song with a surprising, but touching somber turn in the middle! Stuff like this is why this channel is one of my favorites. Right in the playlist next to all the other Divide Metal songs like "Rain of Fire" and "Lion Sin".

This video/song reminds us just how awesome Allmight is as a character/hero. The show does such a good job of showing us how fragile the world is without him, and how great he truly was now that he is gone (as a hero). His absence as a hero is felt across the globe, until the day Deku can fill Allmight's shoes, chaos reins in Allmight's absence. That said, a prequel show about Allmight would be freaking amazing.
