Just to celebrate the one year anniversary of the release of God of War Ragnarok - here is the SUPERCUT of all Mimir stories in both Ragnarok and God of War 4. Hope it will help you drift off into slumber.
We may have reduced amount of puzzles here in the last two games. But keen eye and his intellect in those areas' proven to be one of his strongest assets. Man's smart.
We need an Amazon Echo type device of Mimir’s head and have it talk with his voice. Me: “Mimir! Turn on the GOW Ragnarok soundtrack Mimir: “Certainly brother!”
I don’t know who it was at Sony Santa Monica who suggested the game needs a talking head as a travel companion but they need the biggest commendation possible. He not only adds lore and educates you while you play but he’s also pivotal in many big story moments
It's honestly to funny because in the actual mythology there's so little actual reference to mimir. Literally all it actually ammounts too is "mimir was a wise man who odin sought the council of. He later then cut off his head and would refer to it for wisdom still
I recently replayed god of war and ragnarok and I feel the main themes I see is, in the first one accepting your past and all the mistakes you made and trying to be better, and in ragnarock is after being better, fixing the problems you caused, and while nothing will ever go back to the way it was, you can make things better, no matter how small the change. I really noticed this when you do mimir's favours in svaftalfheim
@@joeylumbley Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Oml I just realised at 52:00 mimir is talking about Macbeth. I thought jt was familiar but it wasn’t until recently when I reread the story did it click!
It all makes sense. The world serpent was created by Atreus. He grew massively, fought in Ragnarok, and got hit with Thor’s hammer and sent back in time. Mimir told this story in the 2018 version, then it happened in the god of war Ragnarok.
19:14 Just for context. Dwarves' last names are based on what they are good at doing. Since all dwarves are excellent smithies, "Smith" "Blacksmith" and "Goldsmith" would be redundant last names. Given that background, "Huldra/Hulder" would make more sense if the brothers excelled at fucking forest nymphs... would explain Sindri's hypochondria and aversion to infectious diseases.
One of my favourite details is how Kratos goes from just tolerating these stories to actively wanting to hear more and even throwing in some of his own from time to time.
I don’t know why, but I never see people talking about how Mimir is puck from Shakespeare’s a Midsummers night dream and in God war, Ragnarok, he’s outright called puck
Probably because Puck is another way of saying Saytr or Fawn, also less people read Shakespeare out of highschool, and Midsummers dream is not the main pick.
@hendryx404 Satyr's are in Greek Myth yeh; Celtic myths also have Satyrs, they are considered Fae Creatures. S'why we got Mister Tumnus in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
1:56:45 "So, naw. Fate can eat my sweet cheeks."🤣🤣🤣 Lunda is there to remind everyone life sucks without some humor in it. She's got a point through. Fate is just a fancy way of saying that you give up on controlling your own destiny.😁
So often hours long videos bore me out of my mind, but I can listen/watch these videos all day Mimir's actor's voice is so smooth and easy to listen to and the lore of the gods is so interesting, violent and dark but fascinating
Imagine being in love with your husband then he curses you with a spell that prevents you from defending yourself from any threats and you can't use magic or blades to defend herself
What's interesting is that Mimir brings up Macbeth. Who are the antagonists of Macbeth? The Witches Three. Who do the Witches Three worship? Hekate. The Greek Goddess of Magic. She's the one who manipulated things.
The more I listen to this, the more I realise my old man trained me the way Kratos did to Atreus, not the killing ways but the discipline or strictly parenting like him. Me and my father don't see eyes to eyes but these days, his way helps a lot. I love you dad.
It’s interesting when Kratos tells his stories but he changes it slightly, like the king asked a blacksmith to put evils in a box using a flame, which is obviously Zeus asking Hephaestus to trap the evils in Pandora’s box using the Flame of Olympus
It's a shame there wasn't the story of Freya and her necklace and others about The goddess Idunn and her kidnapping and her apples which really happened but in the game it was different As a false story And also others from Thor That were not placed and And cited By Mimir not even on a mural of the tales of the giants like: the day that Thor dressed up as a bride and the others giants he faced and that he killed as: Hymir,Skrymir,UtgardLoki and Finally Geirrod And your daughters I hope that in a DLC or next game these stories will be included 🤔😃😁👍 like and Bye!
Medusa: “I can turn enemies to stone when they look into my eyes!” Helios: “I can blind enemies with the full power of the Sun!” Mimir: “I can tell good stories.” Kratos: “I think I will take this head…”
@@TifffanyTaylor It wasn't shown in this video, but there's a bit of dialogue when you change Vanaheim to day and night twice back-to-back by summoning the wolves of the sun and moon. Freya asks "what are you doing," and Kratos answers "I... wanted to see the wolves again." 😅
Hmmm doesnt Freya not being able to harm any living thing directly contradict her trying to kill Kratos and more directly, killing Nighogg to free herself? Did i niss something??
She regained her warrior spirit. Making it so she can fight back, in Vanhaim, the reason she only joins the fight half way throught is because if she were to become human she sould be pulled out, so she destroyed the root that would make it so she can't be in vanahaim, then she joins the fight
