the violin is the most frightening thing to hear when you enter a cave and no other sound is played. no footsteps, no mob noises, just a screech then silence.
For me personally, cave 5 is the most terrifying one of them all. The distinctive low pitched sound of the bell chime applies the ominous feeling to any scenarios, it's almost like convincing me that something is DEFINITELY watching me from the dark corners
1:42 cave sound 16 actually a huge, strong mobs walking sound. In the update 1.19, there is new disc. In the disc, you can hear similar sound as cave sound 16. It's actually Warden's walking sound.
And buddy, cave19.ogg is not an Alien Predator noises or an Enderman is angry or anything. It's just spiders in a mineshaft -_- (Don't ask me why, bc I hear this often when I'm fighting spiders in the mineshafts)
the minecart ones are terrifying to me because it implies that youre not alone in the caves, and theres another intelligent being that knows how to use a minecart
1:50 "scariest cave sound In the game!" Gee, YA THINK?! That is TRUE FACTS There buddy! I always seem to either Jump, Shiver, Scream, or a combination of the three when I hear that. Hats off for Mojang for creating such a scary sound in existence! I mean crap, None of us have The nerves to Wake up in the morning after a terrible nightmare and go "Maybe this should be a cave sound!"
Cave 16 is a minecart tumbling Same with 17 and 18 Out of all cave 14 to 19 are related mostly to mobs and objects while everything is just weird sounds
Cave1.ogg Echoing steam-train whistle. Cave2.ogg Angelic singing. Cave3.ogg Low pitch orchestra. Cave4.ogg Demonic roar / Wind echoing in a tunnel. Cave5.ogg Ringing Cave6.ogg An engine passing by. Cave7.ogg A gong ringing softly. Cave8.ogg Devilish whiff / Blaze breathing. Cave9.ogg A sound as if an airplane was flying in distance. Cave10.ogg Echoing bang and violin screech. Cave11.ogg A distant minecart passing by. Cave12.ogg Loud bell. Cave13.ogg Demonic grunt. Cave14.ogg Steaming sound. Cave15.ogg Possibly a distorted train whistle. Cave16.ogg Banging metallic object. Cave17.ogg An Iron door slamming shut with a bell ringing. Cave18.ogg A Minecart tumbling down / something banging on wood with keys. Cave19.ogg Growling noise.
Always loved that they have names, adds a bit of layer to speculate where they come from. Vehicle and machinery sounds seem like ghostly remnants of the world's past and things like the orchestra, angelic and demonic sounds just add even more layers of mystery to the supernatural nature of the world (and especially caves)
1:50 and the other minecart sounds ate horrorfying, because all you know is that someone moved or is IN a minecart; Therefore, it leaves an aura implying you're not the only person in your Minecraft world.
I was building an artificial cave on superflat for a server that I was making and when I put the last stone block, Cave1 sound played at full volume and my heart almost stopped.
Cave10 is actually a minecart screeching on the brakes. Cave1 and Cave15 maybe related as u listen carefully to cave15 sounds like a distorted train passing by
Cave 17 is scary obviously cuz it’s jumpscare material, and even leaves some ominously distant clanging. But cave 14 and 19 are the scariest for me. The description for 19 was brilliant, it and 14 sound truly scary because they aren’t anything you’ve heard before- they’re alien. Cave 14 sounds like some sort of electronic or mechanical monitor idling, and cave 19 sounds like a rapidly terrifying clicking which could either be the wings of a helicopter, or something worse. Like the wings of a giant winged creature. NEITHER of these belong, nor are seen in Minecraft’s caves, terrifying and mysterious.
I am not really afraid of the cave sounds... Except for Cave4 and Cave13. If I hear those sounds, I refuse to go any further and get the hell out, wait for about an hour then come back.
