A compilation of all title sequences from the Monsterverse series of films: the opening titles from Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the end credits from Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).
Unpopular opinion: 2014 had best opening scene. It was atmospheric and world building and introduced the monsterverse flawlessly. It also set up monarch and it’s flaws as a government organization. It basically teased legacy of monsters.
I really love how the Godzilla v Kong opening was like a bracket system. Going through all the titans that have been defeated, until finally it shows Godzilla and Kong as the last two standing. The music throughout the scene makes it even better to. Really gets you hyped
Well, not technically defeated, the remaining titans yielded when Godzilla won and became the king of the monsters, automatically making them defeated but not dead. A lot of the titans were MIA, and hopefully we’ll all see them soon enough
The way the Godzilla vs Kong opening fuses the voiceovers of Kong’s opening and the text censoring of the Godzilla openings is so incredibly genius and acts as a perfect way to make this feel like both a Godzilla and Kong opening.
I think 2014 or GvK has the best opening cus they get you hyped (although I love everyone of these openings). For 2014, it gives you a sense that we're messing with something we don't know and when we discover it, we will suffer apocalyptic-like consequences, Kong SI gives a feeling we're still searching the unknown, Kotm basically feels like an epic tribute for godzilla, GvK feels like we're about to witness an epic clash between two titanic beasts, both have a history and culture surrounding them.
I see Kong: Skull Island has best opening too, you can see the opening title talk about a story about the nature of man, modern society problems, government conspiracies, and how scientific discoveries were made to benefit humankind but eventually, were turned into a weapon.
Not to mention they used NOT ONLY BEAE’S VERSION OF GODZILLA BUT MIXED IT WITH THE OG OF BLUE OYSTER CULT’S GODZILLA SONG! Which was such beauty to my ears!
Monsterverse Timeline in order 2:05 Kong: Skull Island takes place in 1973 during the Cold War era in Vietnam War era 0:01 Godzilla takes place in 2014 3:57 Godzilla: King of the Monsters takes place in 2019 6:18 Godzilla Vs. Kong take place in 2021 Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire takes place in 2024 (present-day) after the event of Godzilla Vs. Kong.
I watched the movies and two of these is wrong, GvK took place in 2024, and GxK takes place in 2027. Three years after the events of Godzilla Vs. Kong and 8 since the events of KOTM
(2014 Godzilla) There are mysterious creatures on our planet and they might be a threat (2017 Kong) There are places still unknown to mankind and maybe for good reason (2019 Godzilla kotm) Don't mess with these monsters (2021 Godzilla vs Kong) There was an ancient rivalry that we can't do anything about
I love how both the first Godzilla and Skull Island's intros have two different themes that eventually culminate in the technologically advanced world filled with Titans that we see post King of Monsters. Godzilla's intro introduces the Titans' lore and track record in human history while Skull Island recounts how far humans have made efforts to advance technology throughout history
The opening credits have always been one of my favorite Parts about the monsterverse, they do a great job at getting you excited for the rest of the movie, can't wait to see what the opening of Godzilla x kong the new Empire is going to be
@@Frosty_the_eevee_with_a_scarf It must suck. You don't know what random city will be destroyed next, first San Francisco, then Boston, then Hong Kong and now Rio de Janeiro.
Godzilla vs kong title sequence is the best in my opinion, it had the best atmosphere and its so hyping and its cold and the music used fits so well with it it shows what has happened in the passed movies showinv on what kaijus that have been defeated its such a unique entrence to the movie
When I first watched skull island I didn't realise it was connected to Godzilla until the post credit scene, despite the intro having tons of easter eggs relating to Monarch and Godzilla
I love The Monsterverse 1. Godzilla Awakening 2. Kong Skull Island (2017) 3. Godzilla (2014) 4. Godzilla Aftershok 5. Skull Island The Birth Of Kong 6. Godzilla King Of The Monsters (2019) 7. Godzilla Dominion 8. Kingdom Kong 9. Godzilla vs Kong
@@godzillakingofthemonsters8414 The birth of kong (1970) kong: skull island (1973) godzilla: awakening (2012) godzilla (2014) godzilla: aftershock (2014) godzilla: King of the monsters (2019) kingdom kong (2019) godzilla dominion (2019) godzilla vs kong (2024) That's my monsterverse timeline the birth of kong and skull island happened first in the 1970's , godzilla awakening happen before g14 and aftershock which happened in 2014 , both g dominion and kingdom k happend after the events of kotm and gvk is 5 years later in 2024
GVK title opening (the part at the end where it actually says the name) is so reminiscent of older Godzilla movies to me idk why or how but it’s perfect
Gvk is so damn bone chilling, just given the feeling of 2 of the most powerful forces of nature facing of against each other it’s just truly a chefs kiss
IMO, the best intro was GvK's, it's literally perfect. And like someone in the comments said, it may be Mecha-Godzilla collecting data about the history of Godzilla and Kong. Also, M:LoM has an amazing intro with an awesome theme.
Spoiler alert for Godzilla x Kong: The intro is honestly the worst because it's just Rebecca Hall making long expositions but there's also a footage of Godzilla killing Scyhlla in Rome and also doing his things on surface and also Kong doing his things on Hollow Earth. The name credit is still going until the story begins. I miss the part when they're showing the footage of drawings, newspaper or history of the 2 monsters like these videos. Godzilla vs Kong is the best intro ever to see how both of 2 Titans are coming for a long way as they have fought so many Titans.
@@Kaiju-bm4tsMaybe they didn't have enough time to add those in the opening, plus i think gvk was filmed around 2018-2019 and those characters were first introduced in the 2021 kingdom kong comic
I just realized something after watching these openings, and that is that Godzilla (2014) felt like the 1954 movie, Kong felt somewhere in between 54 and Raids again, Kotm the movie that is felt like the best parts of 54 and Raids again but more of Raids again (in my opinion), GvK felt like the old King Kong vs Godzilla back in the showa era which is something i just realized while watching is that the monsterverse is currently in its showa era and plus im not sure if this is a coincidence but the order that these movies (G14, K17, Kotm, GvK) it feels like the og showa era where the first movie in the series is dark, 2nd (both K17 and Kotm) felt like a bit more silly and fun but still dark but not as dark as the first entry and the 3rd one feels silly, funny and, fun in comparison to the other two/three, am i the first to realize that?
Nope, but that's exactly the problem. After 2017 they discontinued the original idea of its own universe. And instead decided to try and make it Toho style with men in suits kindnof action. I don't blame them, they probably just didn't want to make a unique realism universe on Kaijus
Kong's theme songs are also underrated especially the fight scene with the big skull crawler and in my opinion Kong skull Island was badass and this version of Kong i think is better than GVK version I know hes smaller but looks more intimidating especially what he did in the helicopter scene.
The most me thing that’s confused me about Godzilla Vs Kong’s opening credits is that when they show the other Titans like Rodan or Behemoth are they saying that Godzilla killed them or just made them stand down.
oh no I don't argue but things I personally like about the KOTM and GvK intros is that the 2019 one tries to establish that the titans have been prevalent in human history forever while 2021 is more like a ticking time bomb, a doomsday that is inevitable between the fates of Godzilla, Kong, and humanity caught in between. (just wish GvK delved more into this idea).
Tbh gvk is the last monster verse movie to have this style of intro as according to the leaks the intro in gxk will have a new intro that shows Godzilla fighting Scalia and my opinion the first three intros are some of the best monster intros I have ever seen edit after the film dropped: well I was half right half wrong it does retain the original intros but the monsters fighting in the intro was epic
