I like how the pages go sideways up and down and kind of "frame" his shot to fly away. I always saw the fly away as someone with a connection to Erica, girl or not, so I really like David being there. I mean, Jackson should've gotten it long before Colby was ever even considered then, but whatever.
It looks like Dixie (Cady McClain) will be returning to AMC, and will be shooting on screen somewhere this early January. She'll be on a 2 year contract, and the producers are saying that she didn't die, and that David (again) might be keeping her alive along with Greenlee. What great news for a new year! =D
We can only hope everyone will have new HD shots and that's why they're waiting. Either way, they must not have filmed their footage yet with all the moving chaos.
Cady McClain Returns to AMC AMC's parade of returning faves continues! ABC confirms to Digest that Cady McClain, fresh off her most recent stint as ATWT's Rosanna, will be reprising the role of Dixie, last seen as a ghost in 2008, for a short-term story arc that will reteam her with leading man Michael E. Knight (Tad). The network's lips were sealed on all other details (the timing of her return, the length of her contract, and whether Dixie will appear in angel or human form).
i think Kendall or Greenlee deserve that title as they are Erica's daughters....even though Erica and Greenlee don't get along....they do care for each other.
Apparently the producers haven't asked her yet to return, but in recent news to which I found and basing my hopes on, are saying that she is returning. I forgot where I saw this information, but the link to which this all started doesn't seem to be able to be jotted down for some reason. All I can say is that the news is from soapcentral, sorry if I seem to be misleading you guys, which i'm not, because in all, I would love for Dixie to return. =)

No, as of yet. But apparently Brooke English is coming back in Febuary for a three month stint. Hopefully it's abit longer though cause I miss the whole Erica/Brooke drama between those two. =) Information is from Soapnet for whoever wants to know.
AMC and OLTL have less-complicated opening credits to edit, probably why GH just isn't editing them. I expect that AMC/OLTL/GH will be getting ALL new openings by 2010 since most of them will be in HD. And update all of the character looks, especially GH.
Well, we know GH's is coming. OLTL isn't going HD, unfortunately, so I'm thinking their opening will stay the same. I'm gonna venture a guess that AMC might update again for their 40th anniversary on January 5th and add in Greenlee, new Colby, and Madison while removing Aidan. Or we might have this version through to the HD switch, but I think it's been confirmed that they will just edit the proportions and not film new HD footage.

So yeah, i'm so excited for her to return! =D On top of that, Brooke will be returning for awhile as well. Seems like Pine Valley is returning to its good old times. =)
I went to her website again, and she told the press that she hasn't been asked directly to come back to AMC, but if the chance given, she would gladly return to her role that she portrayed since 20 years ago. So lets hope that the producers bring her back from the dead a second time around. Dixie! =)
Oh, I heard OLTL is still going HD, they just postponed until later in 2010. I wish they would re-shoot as when they edit it, on normal non-HDTV it looks REALLY bad. I think they will just re-shoot AMC if they're adding new clips with nuColby, etc.
Looks like so much has changed over the course of AMC these years. It's strange to think that not to long ago Phoebe wallingford passed away in 2005, Myrtle in 2008, and now Joe and Ruth Martin will be leaving sometime next year in January, 2010. Erica Kane has always been the pillar of Pine Valley, and is the only original character since it's airing. Then of course we'll be seeing some classic characters return for the 40th anniversary:Hayley, Mateo, Maria, Brooke, Biance, Lily, Greg and Nina.
Wow, I just realized that the AMC book is sitting atop a bunch of photos. Like you can tell that's a picture of Alicia Minshew in the bottom left corner of the screen. I always assumed it was some sort of table cover, haha.
@daf51 Jackson is still around, contractually. He's reappearing near the end of December and Walt is filming scenes after the move to LA. No one knows what his contract status is post-move yet, though. As for those two ladies, they'll be added with the big cast shakeup I'd guess. Like I guessed, I think they want to kind of balance out the gains/losses in the cast so it doesn't look like they're losing a ton of cast members.
Not to mention Palmer will be returning since his last on screen in 2008 for the anniversary. Greenlee will be back sometime this month, and we'll be biding farewell to both Aidan and Zach. =( It seems to me that Damon guy has been put on contract, then of course we have Opal back on contract as well. And by the looks of it, we'll be having Dixie, yes Dixie, will be returing to Pine Valley somewhere in January next year, go on Cady McClain's website for proof. I'm so excited for her to return!=)

Overall, if the new opening goes in order like the past few years has been, then my order sequence would be: Erica, Ryan, Greenlee, Annie, Adam, Colby, Damon, Liza, Scott, Jr. Marissa, David, Dixie, Tad, Krystal, Opal, Angie, Jesse, Frankie, Randi, Madison, Natalia, Brot, Jake, Amanda, (yet I heard she's going to become recurring soon after the move to L.A.), Jackson, and Kendall as fly away pic. =) What do you think?
Back when Ambyr came on as Colby, they stuck her shot between Adam and JR and it just looked atrocious. The lighting was totally different and her positioning/expression didn't flow well after Adam at all so that experiment of someone else next to Adam was nixed and hasn't been changed from Adam/JR since. Pretty sure that's also why they re-shot Amanda Baker's footage - it just looked horrid next to JR's.
I like all the subtle frame changes on this one. Like Kendall, Zach, Aidan, Annie, Marissa, Jesse, Joe, Natalia, and Jack all got subtle extensions or subtractions. You also have people like Scott, Frankie, Randi, Jake, and Amanda who got major changes in their clips in terms of length or what is featured. How weird! They must get bored seeing the same frames over and over.
David at the end before Erica thats a serious problem for me. I hate it and it drives me crazy. ANYONE would have been better than that. They seriously need to re-order everyone. I am depressed with this.
I hope that they re-shoot the old shots for the HD format, but I don't think they will. But I heard Rebecca Budig is getting a new shot for her return - how is that fair? Just re-shoot everyone.
