Has anybody noticed how much more visually appealing AMC became in the second half of 94? From the color to the sets to production quality....definitely a huge difference
I wish that footage still existed. I have read that young Erica was something else. That girl stirred up all kinds of mayhem in Pine Valley. She may not have raised Kendall...but she definitely got her DNA for manipulation and malevolence.
The TV series takes me way back to teenage years, and I am hanging on to yesteryear's TV programming. Thanks for letting me watch the iconic All My Children television series.
Funny how Erica didn't raise her but she was just like her. Erica was a real beeyoch at her age, too. Mona probably was like "here we go again" whenever Kendall did something crazy - LOL!
The crazy thing is Erica embraced her with open arms when she found out who she was. However, she only had one request: No talking about your father. And what did she do? Not only did she research him...she located and moved him to Pine Valley! Kendall put herself in the situation she was in. She was very good at creating her own storms and then crying victim when it rained on her back then. Great storylines and scenes, though.
You’re exactly right. Kendall only had herself to blame. Erica tried so hard to be a mother to Kendall, to include her, to do things for her. Kendall repeatedly spat in Erica’s face. I’m glad they finally became close in later years.
I know this was so long ago but it actually is fairly realistic on what a traumatized child might do and act out on. If someone grows up unstable they might think that they don't deserve anything good and unintentionally sabotage anything decent that comes into their life.
@@torirose8492 What trauma? By all accounts, Bill and Alice Hart were wonderful parents who CLEARLY spoiled her rotten. Kendall grew up in a stable, loving home. Hell of a lot more than she would have gotten if Erica had raised her at 14. Kendall obviously has no clue how unstable young Erica was. That broad was selfish as hell, bounced from man-to-man, and gave her mother pure hell. Would have been worse if she'd had a baby in tow. But Kendall had a fantasy that she would have had a rich, privileged life instead of middle-class with the Harts. Not hardly considering that Mona was a struggling single mom with ZERO support from Erica's dad and a hospital secretary job.
@@fwdthinker yeah but Erica had her own Trauma her father abandoned her and her mother at 9 years old. From what I saw and heard Kendall grew up in trailer park
@JD Chase they hardly wrote for Erica in the 2000s they like did in the 90s and prior. Erica hardly had the same type of storylines. AMC became all about Krystal, Babe, Kendal and Greenlee and we can't forget Ryan Lavery. Storylines stopped being balanced and it was their show.
Sigh, Kendall really grew up over the years but here she’s just infuriating. On the one hand screaming she wants Erica’s love, but she keeps plotting against her and is surprised when Erica gets angry.
Wow it's Buffy the vampire Slayer and that will be the last time she'll be on daytime soap opera after that she'll be on regular prime time for the next 7 years as Buffy the vampire Slayer hey Buffy you're supposed to sleigh vampires you're not supposed to sleep with them angel spike that's super soldier guy that the government experiment on you slept with him she just didn't know how good she really was thank you Sarah Michelle gellar but you always going to be Buffy to me
@@theresadoyle2476 is Sarah Michelle gellar as Buffy the vampire Slayer and that would be the last time she be on daytime TV after that she got cast as Buffy and for the next 7 years she will be Buffy thank you Sarah Michelle gellar
I would have loved to see a storyline in this series where Kendall finds out that her father had raped another girl and that she too got pregnant with a baby boy who later grows up to become just like his father or is afraid that he might become just like his father but is truly trying to be a good person that would have been an awesome storyline
When Erica learned Kendall was really her daughter, she welcomed her with open arms. The ONLY thing she asked was that she NOT try to contact her father; which was only fair considering that her raped Erica when she was 14. Kendall went behind her back, found him, and eventually brought him to Pine Valley. She also broke up her marriage to Dimitri and put her younger sister Bianca in jeopardy; all to get back at Erica. Erica was justified in kicking her to the curb. Kendall burned that bridge and set off C4 underneath it.
OMG!!!! I had no clue that Sarah Michelle Gellar had been on AMC!!!!!!! This was during my working years when I couldn't watch it, and it wasn't yet on the Internet.
Kendall was trying to walk away from Erica and Erica was the one who grabbed her back and caused a scene in the store. She also should've let Kendall pay her respects to Mona but instead she caused a scene in the funeral home. And to throw up the fact that her father was a rapist was extremely low, even for Erica.
@@Pinkranger87 because Erica wouldn't tell her anything about him, plus Richard filled Kendall's head with lies about what happened with him and Erica.
Erica Kane was a self-righteous hypocrite who never saw the wrong she did but was always quick to criticize someone else. It literally tookr nearly twenty years before I even began to like her character.
Go Kendall! Why is Erica acting oh so innocent? She has done some messed up stuff to a lot of people including in Her own Family as well. Why is She even telling Kendall to leave like She suddenly cares? She didn't give a crap about Her own daughter for a long time!
Shani dayo because she doesn’t want to be reminded of what happened to her. It’s nothing to do with Kendall and everything to do with what she represents. Erica needs to deal with it.
Erica was far from selfless. Kendall did do a lot of horrible things but she was still Erica's daughter. For Erica to disown her that way was cold and selfish. Erica did a lot of rotten things to people in Pine Valley , especially when she was younger. She was far from being a saint. Later on when Kendall returned to Pine Valley they finally became closer but Erica is awful in these scenes treating Kendall that way.
I think Erica hates Kendall because she reminds her of herself and every vicious thing she said about Kendall can be said about Erica as well. Interesting isn't it?
Even after they replaced SMG the show became the incessant Kendall whining show. It bored me to tears. And as for Trevor - for all his skills as a cop, lawyer & former mercenary + having been through dealing with his niece Goth alcoholic Haley & that mess the writers made his character as dumb as a box of rocks about what was happening in in own house with both Janet & Arlene. 🥸
