I love catching them on crank bait as well. One of my favorites, You just reel in and BAM!!! You got yourself a fish. I love the action and then it feels like you hit a snag but it’s a big ole fish. 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 I have a spinning rod and a favorite bait caster and I thought I was doing something lol. You got it going on. Your house must look like bass pro shop bro. 👍👍👍
You provide a very valuable service for being "that guy" we can point to that has way more stuff than we do..... so our fishing gear addiction can't be that bad....can it?
What you should’ve done at the end at the end of the video was chose one combo you’d chose if you could only bring one combo out. Like your go to combo. But great video Tyler!
I just bought a 6'6" medium heavy rod and put a reel with a 7.3:1 gear ratio to use in small tight spots. The small rod makes more accurate casts and the higher gear ratio lets me reel in faster and get the fish away from cover before it runs under something like a log and snaps the line. My general purpose rod is 7 ft medium with a 5.1:1 reel I only got 6 rods so far, 2 baitcasters and 4 spinning and I already feel like my closet is getting full
Between me and my brother we have 7 casters and 2 spinning and it’s plenty enough for weekday tourneys, would love to have more but the only one I actually need is a good cranking rod. Also you convinced me to buy the 74 tp1 black and it is a fantastic big stick. I’ve been flippin 65 braid and a 1 oz weight no problem
The rods/reels I use are also 90% Lew’s. Can you do a video on how to swap out the reels knobs, how to clean Lew’s Reels, maybe even swapping out the rod butt, and things like that? The round Winn grips have spoiled me. I can’t stand using anything besides Winn grips now and I’ll like to put them on some reels.
I'd also like to add that is give anything to be in your shoes than my own. At 50 I'm very interested in breaking into the RU-vid world myself and end up quitting my job
Hey bro I’m new to fishing and must say I enjoy your videos. You have been a huge source of knowledge, so thank you for that. Started with spinning combo but after watching your videos I’ve been wanting to try baitcasting. Any suggestions for a beginner will be much appreciated, thank you l.
Yes watch the videos on how to set up a bait caster will make a world of difference and save many head aches or giving up I just made the switch this year still have some head aches but not as many
Does anyone know if Tyler has made a video explaining the different rods (heavy, medium heavy, etc) I’m very new to fishing and want an in depth explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of the different types.
Did you do a review on a floating rattle trap? I seen them at the store but never bought one and I’ve always wondered what they doIf you can’t find them at the store you can get them on Amazon or tackle warehouse
Awesome video Tyler! I love how informative this is, especially before I but my next combo. I do have one question though. I know you said you throw your jerkbaits on a 6'8" rod. My first baitcaster was actually gifted to me, and it's a 6'6" MH fast action rod. I was wondering if I would be able to use this rod for jerkbaits and if there were any other lures you would consider throwing on such a short rod? I appreciate it!
You definitely could, but the problem with a shorter rod, is that the heavier you go, the harder it is to cast especially light lures. So a 7’3” MH Will be better at casting a light lure than a 6’6”MH. I would stick with a 7’0”M or 6’9”M or ML. Or something around what I throw
@@TylersReelFishing Thanks For the quick reply man! I definitely get what you're saying. I have a pretty lengthy rod and reel wish list, especially the more invested I've been getting with fishing, so I'll be there in no time lol. I appreciate it as always!
Hey everyone online says frogs are one of the best for bass fishing but here in sw pa I have tried using frogs all day everyday in every lake and river near me and have yet to do it. What's up with this?
Hey Tyler. Thanks for the lineup. Could you point me to a good target casting spinnerbait rod? I prefer a tad softer action/not as stiff around 6’10. Also a good medium action spinning rod with a tad softer action 7’ preferably. Thanks man!
Looking for a punching rig what would you recommend for rod and reel? Lews of course been using them for the past two years and just have confidence in them.
Suggestion, just bought my first vibrating jig. I can’t figure out how to tie it! Do I tie it to the eye or to the blade? I just opened it. Searching how to tie it on. 🤦🏼
Search “TylersReelFishing chatterbait” here on RU-vid. Whenever you have a fishing question or technique you want to learn, search “TylersReelFishing ____” and in that blank, put the topic you are curious about. Odds are, ive already made a video about it👍🏼
You are correct, that they are both made in the Doyo factory. But BPS reels are basically just all the lower end, old versions of Lew’s, repackaged to look different. BPS takes years to be able to use the new tech Lew’s puts into their reels. Lews innovates, and let’s BPS copy later
First off, I love your videos and your passion. My problem is You talk a lot about what type of rod you use, but you don't explain why you use a heavy rod over a medium rod for each type of fishing. If you do you go over it so fast that I have missed it. So I don't understand which is better for what situation.
Just proves my point Give a man a fish feed him for a day Teach a man to fish and he will spend thousands of dollars on rods reels lures boats kayaks fish finders and everything else and may still go hungry
All in favor of making money by doing what you love , raise your hand! You have made your self a dream job Tyler, so proud that you have followed the American dream.✋🏼
