All in all Ephesians 1: "The God of our Lord Jesus Christ... subjects all under His feet, and gives Him, as Head over all, to the ecclesia 23 which is His body, the complement of the One completing the all in all." How and when is the all in all completed? 1 Corinthians 15: 20 (Yet now Christ has been roused from among the dead, the Firstfruit of those who are reposing." 21 For since, in fact, through a man came death, through a Man, also, comes the resurrection of the dead." 22 For even as, in Adam, all are dying, thus also, in Christ, shall all be vivified." 23 Yet each in his own class: the Firstfruit, Christ; thereupon those who are Christ's in His presence;" 24 thereafter the consummation, whenever He may be giving up the kingdom to His God and Father, whenever He should be nullifying all sovereignty and all authority and power." 25 For He must be reigning until He should be placing all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy is being abolished: death. 27 For He subjects all under His feet. Now whenever He may be saying that all is subject, it is evident that it is outside of Him Who subjects all to Him." 28 Now, whenever all may be subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also shall be subjected to Him Who subjects all to Him, that God may be All in all.)" The second class to receive immortality are believers in the One true God during this life. They are raised from death at the time of Christ's return. "Thereafter the consummation" or finishing of what is plainly stated in verse 22; mortality is universal and so will be immortality. All are dying -through Adam, and "thus also" all will one day be living and not dying -through Christ! The consummation of vivification yields or corresponds to these results: "whenever He may be giving up the kingdom to His God and Father". Christ will reign "until He should be placing all His enemies under His feet", as multiple prophets mention. Once God is All in all, Christ's reign is no longer needed, as He has completed His mission. Colossians 1:15-20. In addition, notice that "He should be nullifying all sovereignty and all authority and power". So in Revelation 21 & 22 where we see kings during the eon of the eons- that is not the end. There will be only One King one day. Another correspondence is that the consummation of vivification, which does not occur when Christ returns, but two eons later, equates to the last enemy being abolished- death. Again, Revelation 22 describes a lake of fire outside the city and that lake is the second death for any human subject to it. So that is not the end. All will be subjected under His feet. Then Christ will subject Himself to God and surrender the throne. Isaiah 25 shows the mortality leading all nations to sin will be permanently swallowed by immortality- being constituted just. The wrappings of death will be permanently abolished. So, how are all subjected? In Phil. 2:9-11, won't it be a forced acclamation of Christ for many, rather than true loving subjection? Let me give some reasons why such a supposition is impossible: 1- The context is grace (verse 9). 2- Every knee will be bowing in the name of Jesus. (Matt. 18:19,20; 21:9; Col 3:17) The name Jesus means "Yahweh the Savior" (Matt. 1:21). 3- The acclamation made by every tongue will be for the glory of God, the Father (Phil. 2:11). Glory is a highly favorable opinion or manifestation, hardly the image one gets from a mass, forced confession from condemned, doomed sinners. Nor is God described as "Father" anywhere in scripture in regard to wrath. Nor is the name "Jesus" ever used alone in that regard. 4- The operation which enables Christ even to subject all to Himself is in accord with the transfiguration of the body of our humiliation (mortality), to conform it to the body of His glory (immortality) (Phil. 3:21). And notice that all who bow in Phil. 2:9-11 are in one group; there is no distinction made in these verses between those who receive salvation earlier and those who receive it later. 5- 1 Timothy 4: 9 "Faithful is the saying and worthy of all welcome 10 (for for this are we toiling and being reproached), that we rely on the living God, Who is the Saviour of all mankind, 11 especially of believers. These things be charging and teaching." God will save all, but we who believe now enjoy a special salvation, now as mortals, and once immortal, we will be judging messengers- 1 Corinthians 6:3. In fact we will be the complement of Christ as He brings all to repentance. This is His will, and He will bring it to pass. 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 3:4; Ephesians 1:10. Isaiah 45: And no one else is Elohim, apart from Me. An El, just, and a Saviour. And none is there, except Me." 22 Face to Me and be saved (again, the context is salvation), all the limits of the earth, for I am El, and there is none else." 23 By Myself I swear. From My mouth fares forth righteousness, and My word shall not be recalled. For to Me shall bow every knee, and every tongue shall acclaim to Elohim." Isaiah 52:10 "Yahweh bares His holy arm to the eyes of all the nations, and all the limits of the earth see the salvation of our Elohim." Psalm 22:7 "All the limits of the earth shall remember and return to Yahweh, And all the families of the nations shall bow down before Him." Psalms 86: 5 For You, O Yahweh, are good and pardoning, And with much benignity to all calling on You." 6 Do give ear, O Yahweh, to my prayer, And do attend to the voice of my supplications." 7 In the day of my distress shall I call on You, For You shall answer me." 8 There are none like You among the elohim, O Yahweh, And there are no deeds like Yours." 9 All nations which You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Yahweh, And they shall glorify Your Name." The Lamb of God is taking away the sin of the world, that God might be All in all.
