Seriously, I could listen to your voice and laugh all day! Thank you for all your content and expertise. You are by far my favorite soaper. I've learned and continue to learn so much from you. The soap is beautiful!
Thank you for explaining the Water discount in a way that actually makes sense. I've seen people spend 4 minutes to be really confused by the time they get to you need at minimum equal parts water to lye and the rest of the liquid can be added to the oil.
I do so enjoy your videos! Your such a kind and giving soul and appreciated so much. I plan to make some of your recipes now that I’m retired. Used to make soap in the past but stopped. Now enjoying your encouraging videos. Thank you!
I’m new to cold press soap and I love your channel already!! I was scrolling through and also saw that u made bath bombs with a recipe !! You are god send my daughter loves bath bombs I’m going to attend to make her some with your recipe and save some money also be able to move from melt and pour that I’ve been using for years now lol need to move up 😭❤️🥰
I love your channel and all of your tips! Thank you so much! I’m totally addicted😂 to watching your videos and making soap…. I want to try all the things!
This soap is very beautiful. The natural colors is just gorgeous. Thank you for always sharing your recipes. I just love love love 🥰 watching your videos.
🤎💛Ellen It's been a long time! You are the perfect soap youtuber!👍 Today's outfit, soap, and color go really well together! Besides, you always use natural ingredients! 🍀🍎🌿 That's why I like your videos.😍 One sad news: I recently got my channel hacked due to fake RU-vid emails. So I started over on a new channel. Hope your channel is always safe! ㅜㅜ
Hello Ellen. I live in Australia and I love your videos. I made this soap tonight. I tweaked it and made with coconut milk powder, bentonite clay, French green clay and other fun things. It was a lovely recipe to work with and I’m looking forward to cutting them tomorrow. Thank you for all your amazing videos. I love watching them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in such a warm and fun way. Regards. Cassandra. 😊🥰
@@isaacsmith4630 hello. I added the powder to my oils and blended it before adding the lye water. Works very well. I use goat milk powder the same way.
I liked the lather of the #3 so much that I purchased a bottle of hempseed oil to use in a duel lye shave soap I'll be making soon. Thanks for all the great information.
I just love watching you! I have been watching various soapers...and you by FAR are my favorite! You're so kind, mindful, and considerate with your time, knowledge, and experience. What makes you decide whether to put the milk into the other oils or to do it frozen with pouring lye on top of it?
I love both ways of adding milk, of course with the frozen milk you get more in the batch... But I've found the milk in oil method a bit easier and equally as nice as full milk... I just like to try different ways💕
@EllenRuthSoap Just from videos I've watched you do, the milk in oil seems a little bit more forgiving...as in less likely to scortch the milk lol. As always, thank you again! I tried your #2 recipe I think it was from your trial batches. I added the lye to frozen goats milk and put it in an ice bath...the lye never dissolved. Not sure what I did lol, but big fail. I think I went too quickly in adding the lye.
It’d be great to see lather demo of soap with the cream verses soap without. I already use coconut milk, so wondering if adding heavy cream would make enough of a difference to add it 😃. As always, you’re TOPS 💚
Thank you for yet another wonderful soap session plus recipe. I just love the top and steaming certainly gives it a wonderful gloss. A very good point I agree with on soap calc I use soap calc always it’s great for converting recipes as you say if in oz but using grams like me it’s also fab to get the %, also if wanting to reduce or enlarge the recipe qty. plus so much more. Elly taught it in her tutorials on soap making. Holly also uses it I found the more I use it the more I learn. Now I need to check out the cost of Hemp oil here in Aus and see if I can just buy one more item, I’m supposed to not buy anything new for a while. Ha ha. It’s so addictive
Ellen I love all my soaps, of course but there is something on the unscented ones that make my heart happy, I have two favorites, the “It’s oat clay”, just kaolin clay and oats as additives and the aloe and cucumber coconut milk soap, made with AloeVera from my plants and fresh cucumber juice. Your soap os is wonderful. I am waiting on my hemp seed oil , try it on facial serum
Your soap is lovely. I have all of those ingredients though hempseed oil is very expensive here. You’ve inspired me to try. I’ll let you know if I do 😊
The cream makes your soap feel wonderful! I switched after watching a soaping video and can’t stop adding it. Do you have a favorite soap? It’s hard to choose isn’t it! Mine is Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. I just love it. You should try this fragrance oil from Brambleberry called Sensual (or Sensuous) Sandalwood. I think you would love it. The scent is fabulous! I’m curious as to how you would design it.
@@EllenRuthSoap ok that's nice.......also in all the videos you show a container with the liquid first what liquid is that.........I'm watching your videos for the first time and I didn't understand that
@@EllenRuthSoap Hi Ellen, here is the feedback from making your recipe. Curing is done and today was the day to try your recipe. We (hubby and I) love it! It was a dream to work with and the lather is beautiful, silky and smooth. I may not be able to purchase your soaps because I'm in Canada, but doing this recipe gave me little insight in your soaps. I would differently try other of your recipes for sure! I recommend people to go for it and give it a try! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. Too bad I couldn't add a picture to the comment.
Wouldn't the goats milk alone provide enough sodium lactate to provide that smooth unmolding? I'm just curious about the necessity for it in a *milk* soap? Otherwise, GORGEOUS SOAP and THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge!😘💞👏👏😎
Someone just told me about your channel and I’m loving it! I came across this video and would love to try it but your recipe in the description doesn’t give the amount of liquid you use. Can you share please?
Welcome!! Glad you're here! If you run the # thru soap calc, you can choose your liquid %... I like to work at a 25% water discount, but that's pretty steep for some. It's just a preference.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you 😊, I am fairly new to soaping and I’m still learning about water discounting. I haven’t soaped with milk yet and I’m nervous of it scorching, I see that you don’t freeze it like a lot of others, and your soaps are beautiful!
Great Channel! I'm new to soaping and I saw the original recipe you tweaked from the other video. Can you explain what went into your tweaking the oil amounts down to the hundredth of a percent? Are you trying to hit specific acid numbers in the calculator, or is it something else that needs such precise measures of each oil? thx! 🐢
when I "tweak" a recipe, I always run thru soap calc.... The recipe provided is a great one, if you make any changes, just be sure to run your numbers thru a soap calculator.
@@EllenRuthSoap Yes I see now, sorry, I 'm tweaking by entering rounded percentage values into the calc and you are tweaking by adjusting the ounces. I forgot you can use the ounces column to adjust the recipe and didn't look there. Thanks for helping a newbie. 🐢
I can’t wait to try this! Question on the sodium lactate. Did you add that to the the lye solution after it had cooled down? Also is your Hempseed oil refined or unrefined and where can I purchase it please ? I didn’t see it or the Heavy Cream Powder on your Amazon list. As soon as I can order those 2 items I’ll be making this for sure! Thank you for sharing!❤️❤️
Yes, I add the sodium lactate after the lye solution cools a bit. The hempseed oil is from Soapers Choice, it's organic unrefined, and I love it! I'll put a link for the cream in my amazon store, thanks for the reminder!
I was watching this with one of my almost 3 year old twins in my lap and when we got to the cutting part, he started aggressively sniffing & saying "smells good!" 🤣🤣
