Just my opinion perhaps, but I really feel like this is a step backwards for Porsche. While I'm sure it drives incredibly, I just can't get over that cheap looking dash setup. I couldn't cough up all that money for something that looks like it's from an economy car. When mainstream cars use black plastic, you can understand. When luxury brands do it? No thanks.
Have had my used 2016 Cayenne S for one year. One word is “Wow.” Have owned BMWs and Mercedes but Porsche is now my favorite. It is a daily driver that checks performance, speed, handling and comfort. It is a great all around vehicle that keeps you smiling all the time!😎👍🏽😎
You two are near the top of my list when it comes to auto reviews. It speaks volumes about the quality of the Porsche Cayenne that you've owned three over the years. That's quite an endorsement!
Did Andrea like the new Cayenne? Heck ya! Just look at her beaming face throughout this video. If I was able to afford a Porsche I would go with one of their suv's. Although the 911 Targa is my favourite, I doubt that I would be able to get into it on a daily basis due to back issues.
Porsche's a'la carte configurator is notorious for quickly stacking up the price. Love love LOVE the screens integrated into the dash, but the piano black is a bit of a disappointment. One thing that has always bugged me: Porsche does not offer OEM trailer brake control, which is an absolute must-have for towing. Another fine review.
All that piano black, that's why I'm not getting one. 😂 Honestly though, the interior looks cheap. I'm not sure if it's the piano black or the silly iPads they've stuck in the dash.
Hi guys great car, great review but very expensive! I can see a lot of Cayenne buyers looking for super car performance moving over to the new cheaper Macan Turbo EV which has more space now and still have money left over to spend on extras! best Clive
I have had 2 Cayenne S models and currently drive a 24 X5 M60i. I have had 12 X5's and will say the Cayenne is better, but BMW service is better for me at least. I will be going back to Cayenne next time and it will be the GTS, but wow have they raised the price.
@@GretaBeth nah I optioned out a cayenne gts also fully optioned as my current 2024 cayenne s hybrid pebble grey. My cayenne s was 99k full optioned (except for like stitching). The gts was 150k full optioned. Going to pick it up in September. Cayenne is actually pretty cheap. The base model is 70k. Which is half the price of an audi q8.
Let’s see, about 8% more power, about 8% less torque, than my Volvo (and we’ve all learned how important torque is) . . . But about US$92,000 less and 4X the mpg. And there’s this, Car and Driver says 5,100 lbs!, 600 more than my Volvo carting around a 41 mile battery!
Ooohhh! I love this vehicle and I want to buy one. Cool vehicle! Too bad nothing standard. Oh well, you had fun driving it. Great video Andrea! 👍🏻👍🏻☕️☕️
Why, oh why do seemingly all manufacturers insist on sticking piano black surfaces in their high end vehicles? Just about every reviewer and anyone I know thinks it is a terrible idea!! It constantly shows dust and finger prints and is guaranteed to scratch very easily. Every car should come with a free roll of Mactac of your choice.
My Cayenne is just under two years old and there's not a single scratch on any of the piano black plastic. I clean it and the screens every month or three with a microfiber cloth and screen cleaner spray which takes only a minute or two. I've wondered what people are doing to get these parts scratched up ... allowing dogs to run through the interior?
I feel better about my '22 GTS purchase last year. The new interior is an abomination. Weird shifter placement, oddly cutout dashboard, all electronic gauges, gloss black body trim standard, wtf?, integrated screens are overkill. There's literally nothing I feel I'm missing. The power increase is a mute point because you can do an ECU flash and get 200hp for $1k if you want it. Porsche wasted their time in this model.
Hi, I currently have a 2021 Cayenne S and I am considering getting a 2021 or 2022 GTS or a Turbo. I wanted to get you alls opinion on which would be the recommended purchase between the 2022 RANGE ROVER SPORT or one of the cayennes I mentioned?
I would go with the Cayenne, better drivability, more sporty, less problematic in terms of service. Not to mentions all around performance is just better in the Porshe.
I need that gesture control because I got cut off in traffic and found myself making an ob-, er, less than friendly, gesture at my fellow driver and something to control that would be just great. Those Germans are so stoic they likely don't need it at all.
I've complained but the Porsche dealership pleads ignorance and won't attempt to deactivate the "Soundaktor" which is the exact same system used in some VW's. At least the Soundaktor is emitting real amplified mechanical noise and not recordings composed by Hans Zimmer through interior speakers like in BMW's. I'd be really unhappy if the Soundakor was active in Normal mode but it only functions in Sport and Sport Plus modes as far as I can tell. My "problem" with the Cayenne GTS is that sound insulation found in other Cayenne trims has been reduced to allow more mechanical and exhaust noise into the cabin - might be fun if I was 16 years old.
@@H2SO4H20 the Zimmer sound effect is only in their EV side of the house. Their M side of the house produces the same piped in sound effects as Porsche.
@@teriok6783 Yeah, I was jerking your chain with the Hans Zimmer comment but it's good to see that you are knowledgeable. (BTW, Zimmer is one of my favorite film score composers.) The mechanical noise is augmented but not really "piped in" by the Soundaktor which is in the engine compartment with what I call the "noise transfer component" attached to the firewall. I had hoped that the Porsche dealership would offer to shut it off with its PIWIS software since it can be shut off on a VW with similar diagnostic / customization software but that was a no go. It doesn't bother me enough to pursue the matter. R U a BMW owner? I had planned to by an X7 instead of a Cayenne but couldn't wake the BMW salesman from his afternoon nap.
@@H2SO4H20 I had a X7 and now have a 2024 Range Rover Autobiography PHEV. I am seriously considering a XB7 which is the same price as the Cayenne GTS. The X7 was the best vehicle that I’ve had in recent history and I really miss it.
I own 22 Macan GTS love love this SUV, but time to upgrade size, power and look. Going to order Carrera white with black interior and all black out features. Just finished built on porsche website about $145K, pretty loaded, but w/o crazy options. Hopefully will get before Xmass…..
@@Rissybear trading in, own for 25 months, with 26K miles, super nice car, but being 6 3” and having lousy back need an easier in/ out suv and cayenne fits just perfect
@@olegshulman7764 awesome! I have actually never tried a Cayenne, but they look pretty nice. I prefer the size of the Macan. I don’t trust myself parking something the size of a Cayenne lol 😆
@@Rissybear that why they have 360 cameras and sensors, i used to park huge cadillacs and buick park avenues in late 80 on a streets of brooklyn w/o any of current monitors……
Very surprised on the low power figures. I was hoping for at least 550 (replacing the old turbo numbers, just like they did with the Macan GTS). 493 is just not enough power for something this heavy. Just look at Audi's RSQ8 power numbers, same engine and makes this one look anemic. 100 more HP and 100 more lb-ft for the same price.
This vehicle is developed to a different (lower) spec than its immediate predecessor (2019 - 2023 9Y0.1 Cayenne.) Material quality - particularly the interior has been reduced. Standard features have become extra-cost.
I still have my '16 GTS V6 twin turbo. GREAT for foul New England, snowy weather. Never once had an issue with its handling. Looking forward to upgrading to this V8 model
Wonderful! The Porsche Cayenne v8 dropped the cylinder deactivation for 2024. This 8 is a massive improvement for performance and longevity. That said, I wonder why they didn't drop the tiptronic and replaced it with the 7 or 8 speed pdk for the GTS and Turbo GT. It's fast now but it would be lightning fast. Most people owning a GTS or Turbo GT probably are more interested in performance over towing. That would be my best guess. Good presentation and review.
Two things: what is with expensive cars having only one wireless charger? They should all have FOUR. Two in the front and two in the rear. At the very least. Road trip, put down your phone and leave it charge. Secondly, because of that black wide mouth of the front face darker colours and colours that go better with black (such as red) suit the design much more than white and light colours, IMO.
I see a few owners are putting Matt ppf film on that console so get rid of that gloss look. When done professionally looks really good and hard to notice it’s been done.
@motormouth - I love your insightful videos. I have a question - I am in love with the Porsche Panamera 4E - Hybrid.. but in Ontario it costs around 150K... thats a lot. If I have only 90K with me.. is there any Panamera like vehicle out in the Canadian Market ? What can i get under 100K ?
