Just FYI, a small mistake in thise might have happened as the header at 2:20 says "Battering Ram". Other than that I love the new production level, it's a nice touch
They are all subtle but very well placed. They add a lot of value to the video (with all the other things you do) and manage to make these explanations - that could be tedious - very entertaining and delightful to watch. Keep up the good work!
I'm so happy to see AoE4 is still getting love from the devs! I've not played since release, largely due to a helluva lot of other things also clamoring for my attention, but I keep thinking about this game and about how much I want to get my friends together to play it again someday. I keep roughly up-to-date on the news and such and it definitely sounds like there's never been a better time to back into it! Much love to y'all in the community. I really hope the past year has been good for you guys and the game. Too many great games have been axed or abandoned without good cause (RIP Heroes of the Storm) and I'm happy to see AoE4 is still going strong.
As an Age of Empires 2 long-time fan - I’ve actually been playing more Age of Empires 3 than Age of Empires 4. There’s still something about Age 4 that just doesn’t work for me, and I can’t put my finger on it. This is what the game needs though. More updates and tweaks!

To be honest, I am super disappointed about the Kremlin "rework" and that militia unit... I was expecting some real choice between the Golden Gate and the Kremlin but even with a militia, Kremlin isn't good. 100 food / 90 seconds and no upgrades in the future for them. I feel pain in my ass seeing the KING for English, super trebuchet for Mongols, and awesome changes for Delhi while Rus got some trash units for the worst landmark xD Hope devs will really change something because now it doesn't too good. Thank you for your video Age! I really like your content which has a lot of details but also a great vibe to watch and hear! ^^
Militia gets stronger in later ages. The problem with it is that it will be primarily a harassment unit in the early game, which wasn't it's intended purpose.
@@shieldmate7444 ugh it's hard to believe that this offensive potential has not been thought through or tests didn't show that ;_; IMO it's totally missed and doesn't really fit the Rus. Hope they will really rework the Kremlin and it will has its own, usable role :)
I 100% agree with you! Golden gate will still be used most of the time. And Kremlin now will be used to cheese plays (building the Kremlin in the enemy base and do a little harass with the militia), a playstyle that I think is bad for the game.
I think Kremlin should instead seriously buff wooden walls and later, in imperial age, maybe even allow to build stone walls (that would be historical, as by 15-16th centuries Rus/Russian Tsarsdom mostly moved towards stone walls). In that case there would be a really big competition between Golden Gate (superboost to economy) and Kremlin (big boost to defense)
What if the Wynguard Palace allowed you to train its units in keeps as well? It would make them a bit easier to mass but not as easy as making them in the archery range. (You’d make them individualy, not batches of 6)
I like to see that they integrate into AOE-4, the mechanics of AOE-3. Most people who are new to AOE-4 don't suspect where some of these "new" mechanics have been based.
Minor point on a good video but 1:54-as a Delhi main I can tell you we've always been able to garrison 4 in there for as long as I've been playing, which was around season 2
Just want to say, great editing of the video, great pace, great information. Overall a great video. I really hope your dedication to this project pays off, and that with your continuous effort you can start seeing an increase in RU-vid/Patreon. I do have two suggestions: - You should make some more AOE2 content, since it should help with the numbers - When you make a short, make sure you have the full video ready to go. I saw your short about the 7 units, but when I went to your channel there was no video to actually watch. Im actually subscribed so I knew I would always see it, but most people won't. I have a request/recommendation for a topic for a video. I know you have about a million things on your plate right now, so it I'm just putting it out there as an idea. topic: comparison and deep analysis of modifier units- mehter, camel archer/rider (debuff and support), warrior monk, Khan, Farima Leader Sofa, zeal scholars, inspired warrior prelates. basically to cover how effective each are in the context of skirmishes and combat. obviously some are better than others, some require hurdles to get out. but it would be an interesting topic since they all fall under that category of buffing/debuffing units.
I play Sicilians in AoE2 a lot because i just love having an infantry with an axe and shield (serjeants). I guess the Devs just gave me a reason to play English. *said the man with 98 hrs in aoe4, 87 of it in Abbasid*
We need a Lord Commander of the Great Wall Watchers promoted in the Great Wall Gatehouse!😆and several Wall's Watcher Units under his/her command, such as watcher bee shooters, watcher zhu ge nu, watcher guards, watcher firelancers, and watcher grenadiers.
@@fathinalbatamiy9290 There is no such thing in the game. I hope the game developers would add them in the future, a king/hero to every civ, and more special units like those mentioned above.
Why? The king should not be a frontline character but backline where he is safe and oversees the battlefield. hurt troops can come to him for healing. Place a priest next to him and done
@@moortu I disagree, I often like to put up forward defense walls with archers on them. Having to have him go back to the Abbey makes him a chore especially if you're on the attack. If you don't have a priest or they died and you brought the King and he's weak what you gotta take him all the way back to the Abbey. He definitely should self heal.
The big axe/ shield combo for the wynguard footman (makes it almost look Varangian) and the almost lamellar armor look of the wynguard archer makes me wonder if they were axed and repurposed from a planned but unannounced Byzantine civ update

HuiHui Pao Trebuchet - literally means Muslim Trebuchet.. Respect to the developers for bringing historically relevant name for the Mongol civilization build. Kubalai Khan, bought specialist from Baghdad in 13th century to built these...so goes the name.
Hope someday we'll be able to switch the directions of buildings. Economic booms? Efficient unit generating? Fuck that, I want my aesthetically pleasing cities and I want em badly.
"You can technically garrison the landmark with four scholars now to decrease the training time". That's not new. The Palace of the Sultan could already have up to 4 scholars garrisoned to speed up unit production.
@@xktwnxl4zlx213 jannissaries need to get rid of that stupid recheiving 50% extra ranged damage, that shit made no sense whatsoever and i never understood why they would want to balance that unit in that particular way, ridiculous in my opinion
Would be great if the Holy Roman Empire get more special units, too. For example "Reichsritter" / "Teutonic Knights". More Empire, More "Reich"! Less Holy!

They should’ve added the farimba knights for mali and a horse archer for the ottomans, and at least keep the militia for the Rus for the rest of the game
fully upgraded sofa get the job done. and ottomans were never supposed to get horse archers. apparently (according to something I read) sipahi were supposed to have two attacks, one ranged and one melee but I guess it didn't make the cut. the only change to militia I would suggest is remove their population cost, and increase the number you get by 1 or 2 per age. I think being temporary is appropriate, and glad the stats scale with age.
There are many King related bugs, such as enemy players having the ability to convert as many Kings as possible. We've let the Devs know of the bugs we found in the PUP. :)
King not healing might be intentional, it gives him a reason to visit the Abbey every now and then. Maybe he inspires others and raises morale but he can't inspire himself.
If someone asked me to come up with an interesting new unit to add to the current English longbow civ, I think the last thing I would have suggested is a bigger longbow without a helmet. Just completely uninspired and is a response to absolutely nothing for the English late game who have an abundance of yes... food. So why pay fooking gold for a pointless unit.
Can you ring the Town Center bell and call in the slaves after the patch? I played AoE4 for some hours and once I noticed that this is missing, uninstalled it.
