People who don't understand design and proportions usually call well designed and well proportioned objects "boring". That's why a lot of people say Audi's are boring too for example, while in fact they're one of the best designed things out there.

Golfs are very well engineered cars(Octavia is based on the Golf), and there are thousands of them with well over 200k miles still running strong. So yeah, Octavia is amazing value for money, is super practical, has plenty of tech and it should be reliable.

Just ordered my SE; drove the one at the showroom and I was hooked. Beautiful ride. My dealer looked at the Carwow offers and managed to almost match the lowest but as he couldn't quite he threw in the optional extra spare wheel.

Skoda really upped their game. I've been driving around in the 2009-2013 estate. Would love to upgrade to this one. Looks a bit like the generic version of the Volvo V60.

They've come too far to go so far backwards. Those Dacias are really horrible unrefined tractors. For my money, Skoda are better than Renault too, but that's a probably more about personal preference than objective quality difference.

I have been driving a 2006 Skoda Superb 1.9 TDT since 2009. and it is still a magnificent machine. Little bit hard on the rear seats, and the CD player is in the boot. Love it madly from Day One to today. As I have just passed 80 years old I would need a bit of persuading to change up - but this Octavia could tempt me!

Roomster and the masses listened to that dickhead clarkson about it being cut and shut. When you are 6ft tall and putting babies in the back seat without smashing my head off the door frame it makes perfect sense. Yet straighten the Windows, flatten the roof and jack it up a few inches, call it Yeti people fall over themseves to buy one.

@Haha Hahaha The only place in the worls someone might consider a volvo better than a skoda is the Swedish journalists. Both are 4cyl fwd cars. One is amzingly good value for value and verry well put together. The other got electric problem after electric problem combined with the worst fault code program I ever come across, Volvo Vida 😵
