I like AJ's technical approach to reviews. I enjoyed this review. And diesels for me are the best engine technology for my usage: 1.6 Civic uses less than 5 liters, has 300Nm and 1000 km range.

Reallt good review. Not seen this guy before but felt his commentry was really relevant to the car and very fluid in presentation. Easy to watch.

I almost cried when they stopped selling diesels here in the U.S. We never got the GTD but boy do I wish we did.

Every new car is better technology and everything the ambient lighting in golf 8 is 🔥.. so not sure why anyone comment they're golf 7 is better lol when you will be able to afford upgrade you Deffo jump on it. Great review BTW 👏

That infotainment system will get on everybody's nerves. It's just too much for no reason at all. Give us physical buttons, stop that nonsense.

Ridiculous that the heater temp and volume sliders aren’t back lit. Who came up with that idea

How can that user interface be released for production? At the end, one person must be responsible for this. A bunch of people rubber stamping solutions without really understanding what is going on adds to such a disaster.

The interior of the new Golf 8 with its "all touch no buttons" interface, plus the obvious cost cutting (e.g. no sliding cover for the storage area between the front seats, not even as an option) annoyed me enough to switch away from VW after having had three Golf GTI. I hope VW will learn the lesson - all reviews mention the cheaper interior and the horrible infotainment system.

Sorry, no offense. But with a height of just a bit over 1,70 meters I think you are not in a good position to make a statement about the spacious room on the rear seats. With the front seat adjusted to your height you could basically sit in the back of any car and find enough room for you. I think Thomas is a more suitable person for that kind of judgement. 🙂

VW's attitude of "money first" is really showing. Their new interface is downright dangerous. You can't find anything easily and have to look while driving to find anything. Their materials have also really dropped in quality. I really hope that the backlash they are receiving helps them to change their attitude and realize that "customer and quality first" is the only real way to put "money first".

Great review. I'm lucky enough to have the mk 7.5 GTD and honestly I think it's a more premium car than the new mk 8

What a horrendous looking monstrosity not to mention they cheaped out on quality . That dashboard looks like it came from a budget Korean car manufacturer , looks old already .

When driving at night just say “Hey Volkswagen” then she says “What can I do for you?” Then just say “Temperature 21 degrees”. All new Golf’s have the better infotainment system, this press car has obviously never been fixed.

Very nice music. 👍 I would love to see you review more high-end cars. You know how much I love the S-Class. 😂 Anyway, what you said about the climate controls and infotainment system scared me. It may be a one-off thing. Hopefully it is. I am not sure the context of this car, so it is hard to say. Or it could because of the cold, but I am not sure of the engineering of this car, so I cannot say for sure. Never tried out the car for myself, so who knows. 😂 Yeah, the start/stop system will turn on after you have turned on the car again due to regulations. Same goes with most safety and assistance systems. Modern life, man. For safety. 😂🤗
