BABES I’m not even going to NYU and absolutely loved this video. Your vibe, your decor skills, everything = amazing. I hope your music career flourishes Literally the “big sister” all nyu students need lol
i dont go to nyu and dont plan on it, but i watched the entire video because i really appreciate people making videos like these showing off all the living options! wish i had a video like this for my school when i was looking for on campus housing.
bruh madison, excellent video. This is such a good NYU dorm/vibe tour. We need more NYU videos !! Also, Kamalki is fire, such a queen. wow. and damn, Christian is lucky to have timothee chalamatt as his roommate. What a video.
Thank you!! i just received my housing assignment and wanted a preview of what the dorms would look like. This really helps with my shopping space wise.
I wish all colleges would do this😭 Mines literally has layouts and a video of just the three out of six dorms shown and have no idea what mine looks like except for like a layout of it💀 no pictures of anything
ahh im so glad it helped! People with accessibility needs have priority for certain rooms/suites for sure, but then after that I really dont know. I know freshman have priority over upperclassmen. I don't know if the selection process is the exact same as it was when I applied first year but I was able to put my building/dorm preferences in order and then submit. But its not guaranteed that you get your number one choice. for example, first year my number one was Lipton but I ended up getting Uhall (thank goodness tho bc I liked it better). mayyyybeeee if u already have preferred roommates/suitemates that might give you some priority on certain suites, and subsequently certain buildings, because certain suites may only be available in certain buildings.....BUT u dont get to pick. just submit your preferences. so random--too an extent. Once you are a sophomore and up, it's first come first serve. but still kind of not fair bc you get specific registration times. so if it opens on Monday and your time isn't until Tuesday, then most likely the most popular ones will be gone. but that's not until later for you... hope this helps :)
I just got into nyu this year for their class of 2027. I had what many would consider "average stats" i.e a gpa of 98, 6 AP's, honor classes, 2/64 class ranking, salutatorian, and many extracurriculars(I think this played the most essential role). I didn't submit my SAT because it was low (1200ish). Overall, I got waitlisted and then accepted in May with a scholarship that fully covers my tuition and half of housing.
Hi love!! Though I know a video like that would be super helpful, I’m hesitant because I don’t want to become an NYU spokesperson😭😭 so honestly idk if I’ll make a video. NYU isn’t really all she made out to be, at least for my major. But I can share with you like my application process and everything on insta, just dm me. What I can say about my stats is they were the average for what nyu accepts-in terms of GPA. Though I had a 4.1 gpa (weighted), all honors and like 4 APs, I still had a C on my transcript!!! Also, I didn’t pass any of my AP exams and i didn’t submit SAT/ACT scores bc it wasn’t required so no added perks there lol😭😭But I had LOTS of notable extracurriculares and leadership roles, plus I worked a job, played a sport, and got lots of awards for like singing and stuff. Also my personal commonapp essay I believe was very good, not the standard, scholarly-sounding essay EVERYONE DOES. I just made it my own and i think that showed me as well. So my application was slightly different because I went into a creative major, like singing, so I’m sure a lot of my acceptance was based on my talents and musical abilities. I got accepted regular decision.
@@JenayahDunn ooo good question! If you’re in a rush to get the plants, then I would probably just check out bodegas… That’s where I get my flowers every couple weeks and like my philodendron. Butttt, If your the adventurous type and not in a hurry, you could walk around the city a lot and sometimes people who are moving will just put them out on the street…that’s how I grabbed some plants this year and they were all free. But yeh otherwise I would say bodega…. Brooklyn ones tend to be cheaper. Or there’s a plant shop in Manhattan on 10th street (crystals garden I think) that has big plants but pricier…
@@isabellasaladin2802 that’s actually a great question…I think my suitemate bought it at a local utility shop/discount store….otherwise I’m sure you can find one on Amazon
Hey! If u need more specifics I would call whatever dorm ur wondering about and just ask the resource center… but also I go over that in each of the sections in the video so I would watch those again and see
i have a question, do you have to be like from a rich family or family thats off to go to one of these private universities like NYU, Havard, Duke? im a freshman (sophomore after this summer) my gpa is 3.8 weighted without honor classes and im looking to take honor classes next school year and later ultimately ap and i want to become a lawyer right now. but as i want to go to my dream school and want to be successful, i dont wanna be selfish and put my family in a spot that they cant help me with it and i heard that its kinda rare to get a scholarship for law or somewhere thats kinda private, what should i do?
I absolutely understand and great question!Ummmm I can’t say for all of them but I would say unless you know for certain that you will be getting a full ride or large scholarship/grant from the school (which I would say honestly nyu doesn’t do a great job of) then you would need to be able to have a way to pay the cost of attendance, whether it be from a wealthy family, a parent plus loan, loans of your own, etc….. also bearing in mind that living in different cities brings on their own additional costs depending on a variety of factors (ex. groceries are a lot more expensive in NY than they are where I’m from in GA)….. I mean at the end of the day if you have the financial means to complete and pay for the applications I would definitely just go ahead and do it and see what the school offers you, because it’s gonna be different for every school. Also, if you’re unable to pay for the application fees, if you show some sort of substantial financial need, you can have those waived so long as you look into that well before the deadline of the applications!! And yes, it’s definitely a tricky situation trying to find balance between pursuing your academic, career and personal passions and goals while also trying to stay within whatever financial means you have….the best advice I would say if you already know they’re planning to help pay for your college would be to just have lengthy conversations with them prior to applying and once you get in about expectations and see what they are comfortable/capable of doing, apply to the schools get in and actually see what they offer you and then make your termination from there. But I will say going to law school after undergrad will inevitably add costs, even if you get scholarships and whatnot, simply because of the application fees, all the exam registrations, etc….but again, you can never really know how much money you’ll be offered until you present all of your accomplishments to different schools
Hi!! I think there are very few singles for freshman dorms, unless you have some sort of accessibility need and can prove you need a single room. I think the priority goes to those people first. And in general, I think there are more single housing units for upperclassman is not to say there are any singles at all. So reach out I would reach out to the housing office and just call and pester them.
Hi!! Let me ask someone who knows and get back to you! I know when I was looking online I found like a infographic with all the dorms and their dorm styles (suite, single, studio, etc) and it had the prices listed on there for each so I would look that up on Google in the meantime but let me find out
@@schadenfreudeegoism7485 bae I promise u I’m not rich….LOANS LOANS LOANSSS….and if you financially can’t qualify for loans, then I garuantee nyu considers you need based and will fund you!
