But it can be theory crafted he suffers from one or multiple mental disorders most notable Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and Psychosis (which makes sense given the class name) DID means the character has a distinctive split in personality like the inner voice he has and his psychosis causes him to lose his self-awareness and have disturbed thoughts which could cause the "Silence the voices" hit self mechanic. Also people with Psychosis tend to understand the language they speak but it can be random or rapid speech which seems to mash together into nonsense most times.

I remember the first time I played as Krieg I thought "oh cool I'm an enemy now, this is badass" I now go through his dialogue and his backstory and... well this is not what I expected......... Yea... I think Krieg has the most interesting backstory.
It makes you wonder if every psycho on Pandora went through the same thing, maybe when they say something crazy, they ment to say something else but couldn't

I feel bad for the inner krieg cause he has no physical control over his body, but he does threaten to kill them both if he harms an innocent, curious to how that would be possible
+uberwarlocker Yeah, but in the dlc "Sir Hammerlock and the son of Crawmeraxe" there was a hyperion "assassin" for krieg in the side mission, it is stated that the assassin is going to kill him because he escaped from an experiment which means that krieg turned into a psycho which also means that tiny tina is his daughter because she was also supposed to be in the experiment but her father made her escaped. Remember also that tina and her parents specialize in explosion and Krieg sometimes uses explosions for suiicidal attacks. (Ps my english is not my first language, sorry)
Kent Yñaki Gragas krieg was being experimented on, as to why he can turn into a super psycho he escaped and Jack sent a Hyperion assassin after him. A developer came out and confirmed krieg is not tinas dad.

well they would never do that because the whole point of making him say nothing like that, is because how much he resents Jack for "killing" his wife and his daughter

He is most likely scitzofrenic with his violent and self harming actions. Loss of sanity and his old voice is either his small sane side trying to get out or a common thing with scitzofrenics but reversed. Normally a you would be sane with a internal insane voice telling you to do things but krieg is opposite. Insane with a sane voice.
OMG...love the dialogue but what actually gets me more is that they actually still use the "sane" voice in the actual game rather than just in the "a meat bicycle built for two" video, that makes me kind of happy actually to still see that side of him in the game as it makes for a LOT of his character in the video!

"The age of the gods" is more likely to be a reference to Atlas, when they had the control over Pandora, look at the intro of the DLC "General Knoxx Armory" to get it better
Me and my friend had paused the game on his Xbox and a sane idle voice came on and scared the shit out of us. We where eating dinner at the time and didn't know about the idle stuff.

+cory “Dark Fire” Lockman Its part of his hellborn capstone "Raving Retribution." Whenever he is on fire and gets damaged he auto fires fireballs back at enemies. When this activates he will sometimes go on those rants. they removed them in patch 1.6 for some reason and everyone is mad about it.

Just how painful it is to try and hold back, even for seconds shows how human he was. Krieg, even as a playable character, shows selflessness through his savage ways. One of his skills is giving life to someone in exchange for his own!
God I love the little bits where you can hear a little bit of inner Krieg in the beginning of his laughs before it slowly devolves into insane cackles.
I... don't think I've heard any of the "going insane in combat" lines yet, and I have to say it makes me like the character even more. Dear God Krieg is amazing.
+Tophat Chicken They were part of his Raving Retribution skill but because a lot of people thought he went off on a rant too often gearbox took them all out. Its really upsetting because the rants were the entire reason I went into the Hellion tree.

yeah, he is one of the better characters in my opinion, i love Krieg as a whole because he blurts out whatever, he can run up and melee most enemies without consequence, and he has quite a few unique playstyles based on gear and survivability for example Bahroo played Krieg without any gear equipped, that's one way to play, he also can take great advantage of guns like the heart breaker, moxxi and fire, 2 things Krieg has great synergy with
